Naah us local know every bush in the area 🙂 Gotta sneak out to do some maneuvers with students. It's no uncommon even for solo student return from early morning cross-country and end up in the haze. We make sure they know whats up! MSFS come as great training aid for all local prominent landmark as vfr waypoints!

Not up in here🙂 We have has most of the time.

This is no documentation or any regs they did because one guy told them so. May be Tony was ATC controller before instrument approaches were invented, I don't know LOL But one thing for sure peer review never hurts. There are plenty ATC controller that can provide feedback. Vectoring is another thing. All "visual approach" intercept angle close at 90 degrees to final and 15+ miles out. Even when you fly a small airplane where you can square pattern half mile out. When BATC asks if me if I have runway inside 7-10 miles out they probably assume I wear binoculars! LOL Meanwhile VFR start at +3 stature miles, 1000 ft AGL. I can't understand their logic

I've been flying for 25+ and never have my instrument approach converted to visual arbitrarily by ATC just because weather is VFR! Apparently there is adviser guy who retired US ATC controller who convinced BATC developers that in USA all instrument approached become visual if weather is VFR. There is a big problem with that! While visual approach could be part of instruments approach like circle to land in most case it's usually requested by the pilot . There are no published missed approach procedure that applies to visual approach . Obstacle clearance also becomes pilot's discretion. Imagine busy KLAX airport where all jumbo jets assigned visual approaches on each parallel runway. It's pure nonsense. I just don't understand while BATC can ask another ATC controller in US and have at least some kind of peer review on what one guys said. Other than bizarre vectoring is this is major turn off for me in BATC 😞

Aerosoft releases update for their A346
They haven’t mentioned lvar for “pilots life 2” Before it glitched with neofly which basically can’t detect take off. Not sure it addressed . compare with inbuild list of changes those two updates log kind of pale 😞

ILS Procedure Question - Autopilot Modes
I must say there no greater load on the pilot as shooting approach single pilot without automation at night at IMC. Hail to “freight dogs” who is doing night freight in old beat up airplanes

A study level helo…? You had me at “study”
I don’t know “later this year” sound like very uncertain future. Active development perhaps would give more precise measurements . really would love to have this helo along with Milviz UH-1 (which seems been developed forever )

Its shame 2024 version put on back burner 😞

ILS Procedure Question - Autopilot Modes
Important thing that IRL you are not interjecting ILS on your own you are guided my ATC which usually brings you to heading to intercept localizer until you get GS. At this point you should have already dialed ILS frequency, indent it - If you fly GPS you would switch to LOC mode. if you fly antique airplane with CDI needles only. Usually ATC vectors you to intercept below GS. Important step in ILS approach is check GS intercept altitude to make sure you are not following "ghost" signal. You would use DME or cross radial to identify important fixes along localizer. We also used to use timer on approach which would be last resort to identify missed approach if everything fails Nowdays all ILS approaches coupled with GPS RNAV overlay so you have redundant way to identify all fixes along the way. Due nature of some busy big airports you can be cleared to ILS way out, following "feeder" routes speed and altitude restrictions. You would still need to go for LOC at FAF to ride the beams.

wow the kodiak is a real winner here!!! anyone else got it?
Nice aircraft but missing native EFB. I guess I'm spoiled LOL

FSLTL: Static injection only from 2026/04/30 due to lost API
According to seminar that I attended years ago by SoCal ATC supervisor, ATC doesn't use ADS-B . ADS-B is purely for air to air traffic advisory just like predecessor TIS-B. In turn, FAA can monitor ADS-B to confront violation of regulation. I actually receive a call from FAA because some CFI, who. was flying my airplane, went too low over congested area. FAA got my tail number and were inquired who was flying on this date, that hour, in that area LOL Nowdays a lot of folks got smarter so they code ADS-B as "private". In this case you cannot tell the tail number and there remain "incognito" in some respect. Foreflight has ADS B feed I can see all the traffic sitting at home . Of course in subscription type of service that I pay. In USA ADS B "out" is mandated in most airspaces so everyone has it. But service is free https://globe.adsbexchange.com

BATC IFR Callsign via Simbrief
Does anyone knows if say I want to fly GA and use Piper N2163 instead airline callsign. What do I fill up in simbrief?

General Aviation vs Airliners
Doesn't matter how we have touched the world of aviation as flying professionals, hobby flyers, passangers and etc. But as long as we manifest our passion to explore and an achieve ultimate freedom of flying what we want, how we want, and where we want , modern sims tech give as that opportunity todays more than ever ! Some of us remember, back in days, we had to use a lot of imagination flying vector graphics in virtual world! I'm grateful to live long enough to experience MSFS (even with all shortcoming LOL). I know most of us desire more changes for a better, and we tend push developers to expand boundaries and enhance our experience. But if I look back of my excitement to fly Sub Logic ATP, experience high now MSFS 2024 is huge leap! 🙂

I tried experimental but switched back to "early access". Experimental I can only talk to center : file FP, ask for IFR release, land. Very strange no other frequency other than hang over to next center is given. At least with early access I have right "chain of command " clearance/ground, tower/departure and etc
