Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

During the installation i was "forced" to select a profile name. I could enter one of my own but it was never accepted. I never had the option to confirm my own chosen name. So i'm stuck with Eighthelmxxx491. Any option to change that somewhere?

I purchased MSFS via STEAM. After completing the installation with all defaults, I found that all the 100+ GB files are stored under the folder Users/<username>/AppData/Roaming/Microsoft Flight Simulator Is it strange that the main folder is put under AppData/Roaming, but not under Programme Files (x86)Steam/steamapps/common like other games ? kklee6

My friends and fellow simmers "we have been through this before." I wrote this in a thread somewhere else but it's worth repeating: I went from FS9 to FSX to P3D v4 (basic platform to fully loaded.) From XP9 to XP10 to XP 11 (basic platform to fully loaded.) I know that I'm not the only one that bought the platforms but also the add-ons to go with it. I also had to buy expensive computer upgrades, only to get minimal performance increases. I also bought flight controllers such as yokes & sticks, pedals, throttle quadrants, goflight modules, and even track Ir. Some have ventured into cockpit building, VR, & 4K GSYNC monitors. I'm still on a 1080…

Hi does anyone know why the update in the beginning when you first start fsx 2020 is not working. Mine just says please wait and it doesnt start updating right away. The very first time I started updating it it was updating but stopped updating at 35 percent and I had to restart the update and now it just says please wait and doesnt update. Please help

I set my download locations and hit start then the screen went black. Music is still playing and in Device Manager my CPU usage is at ~50% and varying disk and & download 200-500 Mbps....just let it keep going or restart?

Yesterday both BBC news and the Guardian ran enthusiastic peices on their sites. Today, it's the New York Times. This is a level of marketing that is unbeatable. My Internet went down, had to reboot the modem and router. Then the download gave me an error. I had to close and then reopen MSFS. I was at 46+ GB down, now after going back in, it shows only 11. I'l be here forever.

I am halfway through Bush pilot activity in Nevada, and I am almost out of fuel. There is no option to refuel, or use radios on menu. Anybody know how to refuel? Thanks

....required here. I think this sim was sent as a test. Please advise if you have the Steam version: I start the sim which takes a good 3 minutes to load to the menu on an ssd, but that is not including "searching for updates" which takes another three or more. Can I switch this off? Next find the global sphere. Zoom in on airport. Choose an aircraft. Set weather. Click on "Fly". Immediate crash to desktop. Start up all over again. This time aircraft loads and flies. It happens every time. Start, load, crash, start again, load, no crash. Anyone else getting similar and any suggestions? Thanks.

hi guys, for some reason v-sync don't work well for me in 60fps lock in game, it always hovers above it. is there a way i can force nvidia control to set 60fps. i have a 75hz monitor.

To everyone that has the insert disk error, I disabled my firewall and it worked. The problem is that I don't want to disable my firewall to play the game so it's not the best solution. I don't know how to enable the file that opens msfs. I have to add it to the firewall so I can keep the firewall open and still use msfs. Does anyone know the name of the file that I have to allow?

If anyone has successfully setup there CH yoke I think a pinned tutorial would be awesome. I spent about 30 minutes to set mine up and just quit in frustration. It’s like they intentionally tried to make it confusing as possible to setup the yoke. I mean seriously what a joke. Any tips would be welcome. Thank you in advance.

Anyone else seem to be having this problem? As I'm flying and monitoring my performance settings, I notice that the GPU is usually not running at 100% or even close to that. Typically, it seems to be running between 35-60%. I'm averaging 30 FPS with frequent dips into the 20's. My system: Ryzen 7 2700x, 16 GB RAM at 3000Mhz, GTX 1660, and the sim and OS are on two different SSDs. I'm only flying at 1080p.

I bought flight simulator on microsoft store and have it in my account. However when pressing the blue installation button, I get to choose a drive but when pressing ok it does nothing. Other apps in the store install fine. Reinstalled FS2020 just to see if it was some kind of glitch in the setup/download. Nope, flying the 747 or A320 is nearly impossible. I am used to Xplane and Zibo 737. If the Zibo is not extremely inaccurate and supereasy to operate, then I will have to assume that the airliner failure in FS2020 is complete. And don't get me started on the autopilot. What is going on???

Go to the Windows store Select My Library Look for the MSFS Digital Ownership item and click it. On the MSFS Digital Ownership page, click Install. Either scroll down this page or go back to your library to find MSFS (the standard edition, NOT any of the others you might have). Click on this to bring up its page. Install this on the store page.
