i can't believe what i'm reading over there😆😱 so many ppl trying to install/run/download this beast of a sim. COMPLAINTS, REFUNDS, NEGATIVE REVIEWS, TRASH TALK, etc. etc.

Or I just missed it. A MS flightsim has learned how to not have flat airports lol. I let out a big smile when I noticed that rolling down the runway.

Hey guys, I have been trying to figure out if VR can be enabled somehow editing the sim's files. I can't find a way. Will wait when MS/Asobo pushes the udpate. Lol Look at the files. I remember reading during the build up to the release, that there will be some backwards capability with 2020. Has anyone looked at the airplane structure, and has anyone tried to install an FSX aircraft? Just wondering. I have not seen a thread on this or I missed it! Thanks for any input! Don BP;)

I have a Dell 34'' ultrawide monitor 3440 X 1440. I sometimes use the sim in windowed mode so I can have performance information etc easily accessible. I then use the Alt + Enter keys to switch to full screen mode and then back. The issue I am having is when I switch back from full screen mode the "windowed" size doesn't match the previous windowed size. It is bigger especially in the vertical and hides selections down the bottom of the screen. I then have to drag it around and resize. In windowed mode if I hit the maximize button it goes to windowed full screen and then if I hit the restore down button it reverts to the previous correct window size. So this wor…

ok this has been driving me bonkers the last two days. I load up a flight plan in FS2020 (built using little navmap) and select a random starting location (since you don’t know where they are). the sim loads up, and you realize you’re in the wrong spot! How can you quickly change your starting gate/parking location? currently only way i can figure it out is to completely back out to the main menu and start all over again, which is causing me to pull all of my hair out 😵 someone smarter than I please let me know how achieve this

Thrustmaster T-16000 HOTAS user here. I always used a fairly simple set of binds when I played FSX and the default binds are making me crazy right now! Lots of stuff! I don't think I've ever actually used all the buttons on a joystick before. I'm not a super skilled fight simmer but these seems too complex and a bit much. I'm having trouble accessing the trim controls without nose diving into the ground. I also used to have one of the trigger controls on my stick set up where just continually squeezing it cycled through all the available camera views in succession and I'm not sure that's possible here. It would seem somebody boobed. The Throttle Quadrant that is a part of the Flight Yoke is missing one of the Axis. I want Spoiler on Joystick R-Axis X, Throttle 1 on Joystick R-Axis Y and Throttle 2 on Joystick R-Axis Z. Went to map it and found X is the middle axis, Y the right axis and there is no left axis or a label for R-Axis Z. I have yet to even find the files associated with this new Flight Sim to see if this is a simple fix. Anybody got any ideas? Martin

What am I doing wrong (not a jet guy generally)? I follow the checklist (which seems incomplete) and my engines seem to stay stuck at 25 N2 and won't clear the oil pressure warning lights. I just sit on the tarmac and increasing throttle does nothing. I'm clearly missing a step along the way. Thanks.

there have been understandable issues for me so far, no big deal but this one is a bit more serious - both my ATC and VFR Map windows don't show up. They are marked as selected so definitely should be visible. I was on triple-wide 1080p resolution my last flight but still had them open in the center of the screen. I tried lowering the UI size all the way down and also going back triple-wide to see if they would show up on the edges but no luck. Did a look through the MSFS folders to see if I could reset some position data. Not sure what else to try.

A user at the Microsoft forum, @INoooch, said he got fewer stutters using an older Nvidia driver than from newer versions, including Nvidia's game-day-release update specifically for MSFS2020. I followed his suggestion and found his advice to be very useful (at least on my own machine). It's definitely worth a try if you have an Nvidia card and you're suffering issues with performance or stutters from newer drivers. Can we set the altitude constraints or descent angle on the Proc page for vnav or is that inop? It seems like I can't scroll over to that with the fms knob. Thanks, Doug

Hi, I have a few questions: 1) I want to accelerate the simulation rate. I am using the R command (with + and -). However, when I use them, there is not a measure of how fast/slow the simulation is, so it's very hard to control. Any suggestions? 2) Also, how can I skip long flights from 1 airport to the other ? Any suggestions? 3) When I land, I would like to see a recorded repetition of my landing (FSX used to have that option). How can I do that? Thanks

So i got this new sim installed and working fine, but my Trak IR5 does not work at all. 😞 Even when i load it before i go into the sim, and none of my flight panels work. I have the switch panel, radio panel and the autopilot panel. Does anyone know how to set these things up to work. Not even my hat switch on the yoke works. I can look left to right with that only. so even if i wanted to fly without my trak ir, i can't. I KNEW THIS WAS GOING TO HAPPEN WHEN THIS CAME OUT. I've just been "eyeballing" the scale of objects (building, cars, aircraft, and ofc trees) in FS2020 compared to the underlying satellite imagery. All objects seem to be about 33% too large compared to the satellite imagery. 🤦‍♂️ For example, park the Cub on a bowling green (lawn bowls), switch to the drone camera and go up a 100 feet... the Cub looks way too big for the bowling green. Also, compare the size of car objects to the image of cars on the satellite imagery... too big. Buildings (houses) also look too big compared to the satellite imagery. I see the options there and trying to figure it out but I am a bit lost here. Do I have to select a different path if I want it to go somewhere else in that screen? It looks like thats the path where my rolling cache is set and I want to keep it that way...or does rolling cache and manual cache have to go to same place? Also, do I have to paint a large area, zoom in each area and paint medium, then zoom in again and paint small?

Without trying to start another complaints thread, does anyone else have problems with fill permissions? I’m trying to duplicate the King Air, simply so I can change the tile of the aircraft in the aircraft.cfg file without modifying the original. I thought a simple copy paste of the folder to the community folder would do the trick, but I get the message “Your Organisation does not allow you to place this file here” Does anyone have a solution?

I've been flying the sim for the past two days getting used to the menus, getting controller switches mapped to my liking, etc. I've been into flight simulation since the late 1980s and also got my Private Pilot Certification flying a C172 SP almost 10 years ago (and got qualified with the G1000 a few years later). That said, during the past few days I've only flown the steam gauge version of the C172 without any problem (priming it first with full pump and mixture control, then starting) Today a problem has cropped up. No matter what I've tried, I can't get that plane to start doing everything by the book!!!!! Any suggestions on what I can do to fix this situation…

anyone else's main airport selection world map super blurry? like the terrain is just a massive blur. can still select airports normally. can't post a pic unfortunately.

Today I was very disappointed to see that MS left the Dutch Antilles and Venezuelan and Colombian coast and islands completely abandoned, they really look like deserts!(@1.00) While in Bing map they are all well covered. I cannot understand the reason why? hopefully in the future we might see improvement in this part of the world but seems like for MS there is no love for the smaller tourist islands...shame!

HI guys Positive post here! Its Day 2 for many of us and with a new sim comes the initial install (of which everything ran smooth for me), the scramble to setup my old saitek yoke (yes I need a new one). The pain of remapping keys to my liking and removing duplicates etc. Day 1 was an install, tweak and setup day. It was also a day I was wondering if my old i7 4790k, 1070 and 16GB RAM would see me through. To my amazement even in places like London and New York, admittedly in default aircraft though I'm getting between 35 and 60FPS even in adverse weather on High settings.
