Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

I have switched off live traffic, multi player and showing multiplayer aircraft in your area (at an airport). image However, they still pop up.... How to really get rid of these objects? Nico

Paid Steam at 21:35 and started download. A bit of confusion because Steam did not initially recognize my 1 TB NVMe drive. Once that was done it took 10 minutes for the Steam download (1 GB connection). I then pressed Install which took 5-minutes. Then pressed Play in Steam and was presented with the spinning & no mouse situation for the XBOX connection. Seemed odd because I was already signed into XBox app. Anyway, eventually remembered the Alt+Esc trick and found myself at the XBox signin (I was already signed in). It was a bit confusing because I forgot that my XBox app signin was not what it wanted - had to give it my flightsim xbox signin…

MS2024: In the Controls Menu each line is divided up by two black boxes adjacent to each other (side by side). If the control config goes into the left box, then what is the purpose of the right box, and when or if you would fill both boxes?

So it says under my specializations I am eligible for Ferry Flights and Flight Seeing but there are none under my missions, am I doing something wrong?

Has anyone found any add on's that are compatible with 2024? I've tried a bunch of them and they all seem to be like 95% compatible but all of them so far have had little problems. I hope Microsoft/Asobo gets this worked out. John Snyder

I have 2020 on Steam Should I uninstall that first, or should I try to uninstall all the other apps and planes involved first? Is there a consensus on this? Is there a youtube or something? Thanks!

I just reinstalled the new Orbx Central, and I am having trouble getting an airport to install to the correct folder. I moved my community and the other two folders to the D Drive, but when I install from Orbx, it puts the scenery into the C Drive under the old "packages" location. I even tried changing the main library, but when it installs, it adds an additional "msfs2024" folder into the community folder. Anyone give this a shot yet? Cheers, Pete

It looks like almost every addon airport will work out of the box lie Asobo stated not so long ago.

So launch day was frustrating. I installed and did get to use it for a few flights and it was slow to load and buggy. But today I installed it on my new built for 2024 computer and it is working amazingly well. I am using 3 screens plus a 4th for Navigraph and pop outs. Soon AirManager I hope. Once update is available. Navigraph works great with plugin. I also installed Orbx and I have used a fresh install of FS2020 also working perfectly, huge difference from my old system. I am trying to bind my Saitek Pro Rudder Pedals with no luck. It is listed correctly in the Devices List, so I assume it has detected the control. When I try to bind the LEFT & RIGHT Pedals individually with a foot press the device is detected as "Joystick RAXIS Z" for both the LEFT & RIGHT axis. Then I go into the cockpit and when I press the LEFT OR RIGHT Pedal, the movement is reversed (eg. I press the LEFT pedal and the RIGHT pedal movement is down, and vice versa). Anyone struggling for airports to load? Been sitting here for 30mins just with loading... on the map but it never loads in.

This video and streamer is making me think that maybe I should go for the MS Store version instead of Steam. Only thing is, I'm not sure yet if stuff I bought for MSFS 2020 (eg. PMDG 737s and Seafront Simulation ships) will work in MSFS 2024.

Hi. Did any owners of the MSFS 2020 Premium Deluxe version buy the MSFS 2024 Standard version? And if you owned the MSFS 2020 Premium Deluxe version and you bought the MSFS 2024 Standard version, were your Premium Deluxe planes in 2020 upgraded to the MSFS 2024 version? For example, was your 787 upgraded to the MSFS 2024 version or did it stay as the MSFS 2020 version? I'm asking because the future Horizon Simulations mod will be based off the 2024 version of the 787 and not the 2020 version of the 787. Not really a surprise as it works independent of any game/application. I still think it's great and adds a degree of smoothness for me and no tearing.

For example, in this case I don’t want HD runway textures I previously bought and historical airports like Kai Tak. I don’t seem to be able to disable or remove them. Any ideas?

Hi Everybody, Here is a new one on me. I just did a complete reinstall of MS2020 after removing MS2024, now the pmdg 738 flight deck is dead with the yoke pulled to full left aileron. I press/hold the Menu button on the FMC keypad and no screen. Any ideas, anyone seen this before? Thanks

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 is going to go down as one of the worst launches in gaming history, and I am hard pressed to think of one worse in the past 5 years. How did the largest software company in the world get this one so wrong? Microsoft has one of the largest cloud infrastructures in the world. How could they not have been prepared for a cloud product? And even if we look past the server issues, so many other aspects of this sim are broken. I have only tried a few planes, and some have no power, others have gear that doesn’t work, and the list just goes on and on. And these are but the initial glance issues. At 21:00 Z (16:00 EST) Steam shows only 9,670 users logged into MSFS 2024. The 24-hour peak was less than 12,000. And, the highest number of MSFS 2024 users on Steam since Wednesday 00:00Z has been a little over 13,500. Where is all the demand coming from that is overloading the servers? MSFS 2024 is not even in the top 100 busiest games on Steam at this time. Even Farm Simulator and Shopping Simulator are more heavily used than MSFS 2024 on Steam. OR - Am I misunderstanding the Steam statistics?
