As a simmer since FS98 and an Airplane Single Engine Land and Airplane Single Engine Sea-rated pilot with time logged in both rotorcraft and sailplanes, and with a UAS Part 107 certificate, I’d like to state how promising MSFS2024 has been once we get past the hiccups of launch. To start, the software runs on ultra settings with complete smoothness on a current high-end computer. Gone are the days of the sim being built and released with the idea of future hardware being needed to enjoy it. Not only does it run smoothly with so many more assets, but the world is shown as the most detailed we have ever seen. No corner of aviation has been left behind. With this s…

Hi, In FS2020 you could check the METARs of the nearest airport by opening the weather menu of the in flight menu bar. In FS2024 this option seems to be gone. Did anyone figure out how to check a metar inflight, without using some external website? Kind regards Martin

  3. Hi. I am sorry to bother with this problem. The aircraft can´t do pushback with engines stopped or move forward with engines running. The chocks are removed, parking brake off and all set and ready for take-off. What can I do to track this problem? Thank you.

  4. I never got FS2020 so this feature is new to me. I've made a pln file and saved it, and now started my flight. Right now I want to quit and resume later but also would just like to save planned flights before I begin to load it up quickly, how is saving done?

  5. After getting Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 installed and initially configured, I gave its Careers Section a try, and went from Discovery Flight to Licensed Private Pilot in 20 Minutes by skipping every lesson in-between. Also - will wonders never cease?! - they made me take it in a stinkin' high wing, and I did OK :)

  6. I finally have MSFS 2024 installed. Let me say I am not a fan of the interface. Anyway I noticed it takes some time to start up. It spends a lot of time Activating Packages. I timed it the first run and it was over 5 minutes from the Xbox Game Studio Splash screen. After that it is around 2:46 minutes. My MSFS2020 with tons of scenery and planes in the community folder only take just over 3 minutes to load.

Seeing Microsoft did not give us an option to import anything from 2020 I want to run both sims at the same time so it will allow me to match my settings and control inputs. It would save me a lot of time having both open so 2024 will match my 2020 settings and not have to write down or screen grab everything.

MSFS 2024 is an Historic Landmark in the desktop flight simulation history. We ave to taste it with care and an open mind, look ahead, enjoy what is already being offered, in my case even just in the Standard Edition, forget about some details and believe ASOBO and many devs will add their contributions to the "cause" and make it an even bigger success ! I'm in, even if, as usual, I'm critic... And, BTW : Big Thanks and Deserved Recognition for the endeavour - MS & ASOBO are to be congratulated!

  9. Started by St Mawgan,

I'm so used to not seeing it that I'm finding it really distracting now!

  10. Started by John Fields,

Hi, Please, anyone can ask these questions? 1) Have you do the outdoor inspection on each aircraft in cold and dark start? 2) Are there any way to skip that? Thank you in advance

  11. Hi, When I start on a runway, the engine is going ok, but if I begin on a parked site of an airport, the engine does not start (no mater what I do!). That is completely new for me, because I always started cold and dark in MS2020. Any help?

  12. Started by Bob Scott,

John Dowson published a beta FSUIPC7.exe file in his forums that works with MSFS2024. It makes side-stepping the convoluted new control setup a quick and easy proposition if you had it working to your liking in 2020. The file is in a post in this thread on his support forum: https://forum.simflight.com/topic/99115-feedback-first-msfs2024-experience/ I copied over over FSUIPC's wasm folder from the MSFS2020 community folder, the FSUIPC7 folder from the main MSFS folder, and then swapped in the beta (v7.5.0a) FSUIPC7.exe file. John wrote that he will be posting a more complete beta version tomorrow.

Hello, as I use a Stream Deck to avoid the keyboard as much as possible I have compiled a list of some 70+ new 2024 keyboard shortcuts in a MS Excel Worksheet which I thought might be of use to others as well. This is my v1 so if anybody has any additions to make all will be gladly received. Please also let me know if any are incorrect (vaguely possible). Link to my Dropbox Public Folder

  14. Hi guys! I hate the AI traffic. I dont want to see a sigle plane of those. Does anyone knows how to disable it? In fs2020 i think you can delete a file and that's it, they're gone, but I dont know if this works also in 2024 and if so, which file should I delete

  15. Started by Wise87,

Using the latest Nvidia drivers for 2024, I want to add Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. I don't see it in the Manage 3D settings. When I select add I see it and the menu. When I choose it the path shows microsft.limitless_8weky etc, etc. Is this the correct entry or do I need to point it too the EXE

  16. Started by davenicoll,

Hi guys, I tried to post this on MSFS launch day but something went wrong. In the subsequent says what I was going to say has bore fruit. "I know the suggestion of having MSFS 2020 and 2024 as separate forums has been mentioned and declined, but as expected, since the launch of MSFS 2024 the dual forum is drowning in MS2024 posts and those of us who have remained with 2020, at least until all the issues etc and calmed down now "lose" our posts, having to scroll through numerous other posts and if I'm honest, the 2020 post probably get lost in the melee. Is Avsim able to revisit the thought of MSFS2020 and 2024 now having separate forums…

So I get into the cockpit and I have no sound at all… nothing, everything in settings is at it shud be, all turned on etc …anybody else experiencing this …. Its took me till now … nearly 48 hrs to get into the sim since 4pmon on tue🙄

  18. Started by Sidney Schwartz,

I've noticed that sometimes when I use active pause and then un-pause, the plane I'm flying will suddenly become uncontrollable, veering, climbing or descending, and the autopilot shuts off or stays on but isn't working. This happens with different planes. Has anyone else experienced this, and is there a fix for it? There are some things I really like about 2020, but it seems that MS also broke some very simple stuff. Can't save and restore flights anymore, can't even pause without sometimes breaking everything.

  19. Started by GAJ52,

I have finally setup a Free Flight in the C172 at Blackbushe (EGLK) and somehow entered the cockpit. Problem is the camera is moving all over the place and not stable, how the heck do I set up a view to look out of the front window from the pilots seat ?

  22. Started by Rob G,

I told Steam where I wanted the MSFS2024 install to be placed. It worked fine but I am puzzled as to why the install folder was named "Limitless". Can I change the name of that folder? If so, where in Steam do I tell it what the install folder is then named? Thanks ........ Rob

Some more info on CPU utilization Stutter on Top specs PC ? Really... Still no good utilization

  24. I have just a single, large C drive with the MS Store version of MS2020 currently installed in the default location. If I let MS2024 install to its default location will that lead to conflicts and problems between the sims? Thanks, Al
