Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

Since this morning the target frame rate of 60 fps is never matched and is always dropping down to 20 or less with every change of view. Especially outside view. it never never stays around 60fps. what is going on.

And it doesn't look half bad! Pleasantly surprised...

I posted this morning that I had a sudden loss of FPS.. Flying the PMDG 737 I usually average around 35-37 DPS. I then , restarted Windows,restarted the flight and it seemed FPS returned to normal. About 1/2 hour ago, I started my second flight of the day, and I noticed that the FPS were about 20% lower than normal, on the ramp. I then took off, on a flight from KBNA to KTPA, and now my average FPS have dropped from around 35-37, to 19-22.. I check all my settings in MSFS and noticed that Multiplayer ( which I have never used ever) had been turned on, Live Weather ( which I don't use because I have Active Sky), was also turned on, and Live Traffic ( which I don't use ei…

Hello aviation fans 🙂 The new walkaround feature to look at these gorgeous new airplanes is absolute FANTASTIC. I love it, brings so much immersion to the new sim. But I have extreme problems with the controls when doing walk-arounds, for example when walking forward and letting go of the W key half of the time my character simply keeps walking forward (sometimes even for ten seconds or more) no matter how often I press S for walking backward. Every key input while doing the walk-arounds is taken to the sim with extreme lag. When walking sideways sometimes the camera keeps moving sideways for 15 seconds... Hello, I tried a C&D with the 737 Max and I can't engage the external power supply (GPU). Explanations: I remove the covers and leave the shims (normal), I enter the cockpit, I activate the batteries, I ask the ATC for the GPU, the ATC sends it, the GPU arrives and connects but in the cockpit on the overhead panel the GRD PWR does not light up and does not activate when I switch to ON. Is anyone else experiencing unresponsiveness/sim crashes upon exiting to the main menu after completion (partial and full) of a free flight? This has been happening to me for the past 24 hours or so, and I can't figure out why? I didn't have this problem in FS2024 before.

I haven't installed MSFS 2024 yet. Does anyone know if the Google Map Enhancement Mod work in 2024? If yes, is a different version of the tool than what is used for 2020 required? I haven't been able to find these answers online, Thanks, Brian

Cheking on FlightSimware discord, I've found updates for the 414 and learjet35, addressing problems with gns/pms screens on 2024. Couple of files to download and overwrite the original 2020 ones. Hope asobo will solve this problem, cause other planes during daytime are havinh very dark gns/pms screens, while at night they are super bright.

Hi Guys, Interesting comments from FSS on Discord regarding what will and will not get upgraded to FS2024, the time it might take and the possibility of extra charges for the upgrade. Not sure if other developers have signalled this but the comments suggest that compatibility between sims may not be as rosy as Asobo made out. Of course this is just one developers view. Although this is pretty much subjective, it can be empirically measured. So I will share my bias. Please share yours too. With all the euphoria surrounding MSFS 2024, it’s easy to overlook just how much life is still left in MSFS 2020. Lossless Scaling has just given my old RTX 3050 a new lease on life. I lowered my native monitor refresh rate from 144Hz to 60Hz I turned off any V-Sync options in-game and elsewhere, capping my FPS to 20 using RTSS only. Set LS to x3 mode with Performance Mode enabled. Enabled Draw FPS to monitor performance. That's all really. I got smoothness when panning... and "50-60" fps in a dense environment and demanding …

So, we've all had our complaints about the launch, but I wanted to highlight something to praise. I started out, probably like most, with a focus on the cool new career thing... and its got its good and badpoints. But today I took a few minutes to look at what my 200 bucks bought me. My eyes noticed the A330 from Inibuilds, then i also saw a 330-3P2F, oh, this is interesting... I'm trying a flight at the moment, and I'm really impressed, what we have here is not only a long haul aircraft, but a CARGO one guys, 2020 sure didn't have this at launch. How can I remove the on-screen MSFS202 compass and other on-screen "aids"? I don't need them, I don't want to see them. I know where to find it in the cockpit and, I don't want to have them in external view.

Good morning pilots, there is a lot of unwanted old ugly outdated marketplace stuff from my previous Flight Simulator 2020 installation automatically getting installed in my new sim. But that does not belong into this photorealistic superb sim anymore, how can I disable or delete these planes and sceneries? There is no uninstall or disable button anywhere. 🙂

I'm trying to figure out how to download and install scenery packages and packs in the library. I select (select all), but I don't see a install or download button. Any help is much appreciated.

After installing MSFS2024 Technical Alpha I have noticed that Tobii natively doesn't work in 2024. However, when I returned to 2020, Tobii stopped working as well. Very odd considering that it just worked on Friday and I didn't change anything. Now, I'm suspecting that Technical Alpha might mess something up. Tobii still shows up in MSFS2020 under control setting. All sensitivity settings are intact. However it no longer wok with "track Ir" option on. I had to install forgotten Open Track app and use that instead. Does anyone have similar experience before or after Technical Alpha?

Hi flyers I recently upgraded from an MSI 2080 8gb Gaming Trio X to a Gigabyte 4070 12gb Super Gaming OC and am very pleased with the upgrade performance. For system context, my other recently upgraded system spec is an MSI X670E Tomahawk Wifi motherboard, AMD Ryzen 7 7800 X3D processor and Gskill Trident Z5 Neo RGB DDR5 6000 32gb ram. I use a Dell 2560 x 1440 Gsync display with 144Hz refresh. I have recently realised that TAA gives sharper cockpit displays vs DLSS slightly blurred cockpit displays etc even when set to quality. So i just updated SimMarket app and by accident hit my Downloads folders... all my purchases from 2020 and available now are updates to KBNA (dominic designs),,,, KSUT (msscenerybuilders) and many more. Be sure to direct updates into proper Simulator and start enjoying money I think is well spent. Keep blue skies up Steve
