  1. Started by 737_800,

Is it just me or did the performance on FS2020 increased? I use a i5 10850k with a RTX 3090 and 32GB DDR4-RAM. I get in FS2020 60fps (locked) in the fenix (newest update) and PMDG 737-800. I notied GPU utilizatoin of around 90% and CPU 25% Of course I need to do more testing on FS2024, but I ordered a new system consiting of DDR5 RAM and the new AMD 9800x3d, I am wondering if that is necessary thb now ??? Right now I cannot test on FS2024 because it keeps crashing. Have you noticed that also and shoudl I don't upgrade my system yet?

  2. I have been really on the fence about FS2024 but I want to show you somethings no one else is showing that is impressive and why you should get off the fence and why I'm glad I got it. Is it complete no, is it good yes. It's also running flawlessly side by side with FS2020. a picture is worth 1000 words. Performance is about the same for me on a i713700k and 4800s with 64GB RAM. I haven't had any internet issues or loading issues. As a matter of fact the Marketplace automatically downloaded all of my purchased items. I can officially say the default Asobo KSEA in FS 2024 is better than both payware KSEAs, Sad but also happy. The MAX is actually really…

  3. https://forum.pmdg.com/forum/main-forum/general-discussion-news-and-announcements/337094-23nov24-your-weekend-update-part-2-pmdg-777f-pmdg-737-and-pmdg-747-updates TLDR: Asobo screwed it up majorly and PMDG can't even use the dev tools for now. Therefore their 77F will be released for MSFS2020 in a couple of weeks

  4. Maybe this will help, I haven't tried it yet. A message near the tops says that axis and ohs has a new 2024 version available now. You can assign most commands with that. The guy who posted the message says it works great. It's a message under this video.

  5. Started by desbean,

Just flew into Sydney in 2020 with 77 AIG ai aircraft in the air and on the ground, most settings at ultra, buttery smooth at 4k on my 3080. Since I'm staying with 2020 for a while I installed all of the world updates I needed and was getting 300 Mbps.

  6. Started by Todd2,

This was the coolest thing I was flying over Oak Harbor Seaplane base where I lived from 1977 to 80 and I was flying over the swamp and saw a herd of deer grazing and as I flew closer the herd turned suddenly and ran in the woods it looked 100% real it happened fast. Told my dad about it he flew over the same area and didn't see them so I tried again with no luck. Sorry too fast for a screenshot. Has anyone else seen this in other areas unexpectedly?

  7. There have been some comments that 2024 could simply have been released as a payware update to 2020.. However, be careful what you wish for! Several 2020 system updates broke things and caused much grief.. and there was no way of going back! Here, we can still fly 2020 for the next while.. nothing broken 🙂 I am trying identical flights in 2020 and 2024, and in some cases 2024 looks better, and mostly it is smoother. (It also heats up my office nicely..) Here a screenshot of a sightseeing flight over Vancouver in 2024.. with Samscene 3D and Mamu's Marina's active. This does look better than the same flight in 2020..

  8. Started by Roy Warren,

This worked for me. I'm running Windows 11, so I can't speak for Windows 10 users. 1. Open Settings 2. Click on Installed Apps 3. Scroll down and select Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 4. Click on three little dots 5. Select Advanced Options 6. Scroll down to RESET 7. Click on Repair 8. Then reinstall I can't take credit for this. I found it on another forum and I was going to give him credit, but his post is no longer there. Hope it works for you.

  9. Just saw a very good and insightful article from Sergio (Helisimmer) about his impressions of MSFS2024 and the nonsense of having to go through the career mode in order to fly the missions. Missions were one of the main selling points of 2024, and now are hidden behind a career mode which requires to fly multiple missions and checks in order to get certificates, earn prestige, currency... It's already bad like that, but on top of that many of the missions are bugged or just make no sense at all. There is a wishlist item in the official forums where you can vote to make the sim a real sandbox with all missions available for those who want to try them. Of course, it d…

  11. For those who prefer SimBrief for planning but would like to have the flightplan in MSFS2024 as well (so you can transfer it into your systems and check the relevant LIDO charts as well), here is a very short and simple tutorial. 1. Create a flightplan in SimBrief as you would normally do. 2. Create an EMPTY (!) new flightplan in the MSFS2024 planner. 3. Copy the SB Route into the EFB planner as shown in the screenshot below (I am using the online planner here). 4. Click on Save and MSFS2024 will load the route and also (!!!) load all relevant procedures and also (!!!) all relevant charts! How awesome is that! Seems the MSFS2024 planners knows how to '…

  13. Hello Gang! Has anyone by any chance has been able to figure out what is the camera slide left/right command for cockpit view? In MSFS2020 I had this command which gave me the ability to slide my view left or right while in the cockpit. I can't find it in 2024. Any help is appreciated. Dennis

  14. Initially, I thought the new Photo Mode was a bit "cheesy", but I've grown to like it. However - the default save path is buried in the usual insane location: %localappdata%\Packages\Microsoft.Limitless_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalState\Screenshot Can this be changed somehow? It's not listed in UserCfg.opt.

  15. Started by rob0203,

So I never made it to the main menu, if I press finish setup nothing happens. I reinstalled many times, unplugged my hardware even tried with a VPN. Whenever contacting support, I just get a AI bot there is not a real human involved. Also my nephew who has a XBOX console bought the software and can not use MSFS 2024. What more to say................................. We are in The Netherlands, I hope something will be fixed soon..............

  16. I'm not switching to 2024 until: There is Option to start free flight in the cockpit cold and dark, no requirement to walk around and do things first. There is ability to download specific aircraft and scenery to my computer. Ability to disable marketplace items such as custom scenery, addon airports, aircraft.. Issues with community folder location are fixed. ALL server and streaming problems are fixed, and EVERYTHING loads completely and quickly. Maybe a month?

  17. Started by robert young,

It seems to me that many of the current objections to MSFS2024 are largely based on the lack of user options. I have never understood why any major sim developer would not allow the user as many options as possible. The classic example of this is way back in FSX when cockpit lighting would only switch on between the hours of dusk and dawn and could not be over-ridden at least for default aircraft. This kind of control freakery is probably based on sincere efforts to bring a so-called authentic experience, but the compulsory lights off/on in FSX was really very silly as it wasn't even authentic. If you extend this to FS2024 you realise that many of the reported frustr…

  18. The default aircraft in FS2020 eventually allowed the user to adjust the flight model by getting rid of the sim objects folder encryption in response to many requests. Are the default FS2024 aircraft like the C172 editable flight model wise? It looks to me from early YouTube videos that many of the aircraft demonstrate (yet again) twitchiness in control, particularly yaw/steering on the ground and way too twitchy in pitch.

  19. Sometimes its the little stuff that leads to massive frustration and it all piles on top of one another making it feel worse than it really is. I would say my biggest frustration is the new keyboard mapping. If I could just have my old keyboard bindings (which was about 90% the same since..forever) back that would be great. YES, I know about the FS2020 Keyboard option but for some reason its still not the same. A few key bindings are the same but many are not. Shame on me but I fly with an old but trusty CH Flightstick and still use the keyboard for some stuff I gotta do. I hope this is just a bug and will be fixed soon. If I wanted to learn a new Keyboa…

  20. Yeah, it took forever to install but I see a lot to like here. It is just going to take a few months minimum to sort out. But loading up took maybe 5 minutes? Now my content from 2020 and the Aviator stuff is in, so that's progress. I know the launch was bad, and there are a lot of bugs (including some that were already fixed in 2020!), but this has the potential to be amazing. And again, this was never in doubt on my part. It just wasn't ready to launch yesterday. Patience is going to be required. They took how many years to fix 2020? But overall I am pretty positive, although I will still be using 2020 for a few more months at the minimum.

  21. How (if it is possible) do you manage to get rid of the EFB in the virtual cockpit ? Tha TAB key only serve for the pop up EFB but the one in the VC always stay on. On the DA 62, it is in the midle of the windows, very annoying, and I did not figure out how to remove it. Clicking on the support with the mouse did not help even if the mouse pointer change so it seems it should be the way but I can't figure it out. Is there a specific function in the list ? Thanks

  22. Friday, Nov 22 Frame Gen was working perfectly on my 2024 sim. Saturday Frame Gen is not even listed as an option in Graphics. I used DLSS Swaper to verify 3.8.10.0 is in the folder with FlightSimulator2024.exe. I then copied the .dll from the Flight Sim 2020 folder because FG works perfectly in MSFS 2020. Still - no FG option in 2024. Then used DLSS swapper to revert to 3.7.20.0 in both 2024 and 2020. FG works fine in 2020 but not available in 2024. I am running the 566.14 nVidia RTX3060Ti driver that is recommended for 2024. I see lots of discussion of this problem but can't seem to find any solutions to the problem.

Anyone able to see ground speed anywhere on the PFD? It isn't there, and I can't seem to find where to enable it to be displayed. (MSFS 2024)

  24. I discovered in another thread that on the parachute missions you should see jumpers in your plane, and parachuting down after they jump out. I don't see that - I hear them talking but the plane's empty and so is the sky after they jump out. I've also noticed that while I saw some cardboard boxes in the plane during cargo missions day before yesterday, the last several I've flown have been with a visually empty plane. Then I started seeing people talk about all the animals they're seeing, and I haven't seen one. I also don't see any airplanes moving around airports - there are some parked ones, but nothing moves. Nor do I see vehicles on the road. I do see a few grou…
