Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

Can anyone PLEASE tell me how to get rid of the ridicules green lines .. I have searched and searched but can't seem to get rid of them

In alot of planes the seating position is way off. How do you move yourself back in the seat without editing aircraft.cfg? It's like my virtual pilot sits way too forward. One plane actually has me in the back seat.

Guys reading some of the doom and gloom posts about performance got me to thinking. This new sim has to run efficiently on XBOX and other platforms 2020 was released to (Microsoft's primary target audience) let alone the PC market. It's crazy to me to have any serious concern/conversations about 2024's performance in this initial build knowing this. Microsoft will poop on themselves if Asobo left the sim in this initial state. When it's all said and done 2024 should out perform 2020. If history serves us in dealing with Asobo, all that we don't like about this initial build will be corrected and improved upon. Amidst the very rocky start and all the complaining topics about what is not working as intended, I just discovered one small, but important detail. I did some late night flying to wind down, picked Japan because the weather seemed acceptable and just picked a random airport to start from and did a 30 Minute VFR cross country. I then picked another random airport, which even happened to have charts available, did a visual pattern and landed. With FS2020, you could simply purchase an upgrade edition and pay only the difference between the base price and the upgraded edition. For example, if standard was $60, and deluxe was $100, you'd pay $40. With 2024, the upgrade editions are listed in the MS Store, but are "not available separately" even though the required base game, FS2024 is already installed (via game pass). I'm assuming this is a bug - anyone else encountering this? Any workarounds?

For those of you with DOF motion platforms I just discovered that SRS now has a beta version out that supports FS2024. I'm looking forward to trying it out but won't get a chance until tomorrow. Happy flying!

From the official forums; Also, since MSFS 2024 has released, I’m not sure you noticed, but Zendesk will not be used for making these reports. That option is now gone. I just noticed at MS2024 that my library is now full of most of my MS2020 Marketplace addons, scenery, airports, world updates, aircrafts, utilities, etc, (including the PDMG B737/800 which by the way, looks very nice but doesnt work at all) At the right side of all of that addons the word "streamed" can be read.- I checked at ....LocalCache\Packages...Official2020 or Official2024 and they are empty, at the Community folder there are only some addon airports which I copied there, and happily work OK, so I guess where are those 2020 folders located and where they came from. Any ideas ?

2024 Every time I open windows marketplace, and before I play the Sim, I have to click the cloud download link for the premium deluxe edition to install it. It takes less than a minute, but why do I have to do this every time? Is anyone else having this issue? Thanks

I was hoping one of you could help me. Basically during all of the troubles we had with FS2024 at launch, when I eventually did get past the 97%, none of the identity objects (or planes... or anything else!) was loading. I skipped and accepted everything regardless as I wanted to see if I could fly. Roll on a couple of days and now everything has calmed down a bit, I want to have a go at Career. Unfortunately, I don't seem to have an identity which seems to break the career. What I do see is this person holding a sign: When I try and change it in the appearance the game crashes. Has anyone noticed that the clock/time stops. So you can load in at 1100 UTC and then it will run until until say 1115 and then just stay there? Thanks

Support told me there will be coming a hot fix soon which addresses a lot of issues.

Hi all, So, despite owning all of the LL/FF aircraft for 2020, I went ahead and purchased the Aviator Edition on Steam today. Install went without a hitch, and the simulator works nicely so far. BUT... Discovered that the aircraft included with the Aviator Edition doesn't even support 2024 features - there is nothing to do in walkaround, no engine covers to remove, etc... Can't get into the cockpit except with a keyboard shortcut. Tried Aerovodochody 45 and Boeing 707. That's highly disappointing. Why wouldn't the aircraft they bundle with the sim not take advantage of its own standards?

I'm using Starlink over wifi and get about 100-150 down. Starlink has a lot of micro drop outs and some latency. This doesn't affect any other applications or streaming I use. I can get to the main menu in about 5 minutes however when trying to load a free flight default aircraft to a default airport it can take from 30 minutes to well over an hour. Once I'm at my home airport KDWH there is no scenery. I get numerous low bandwidth warnings. When I fly (default 152 for simplicity) the instruments do not fully load. I can see some scenery but many places are a blur. This is all with the default settings. I tried to change some settings like no ai traffic to low…

Hello, I know there should be seasons but imma bit perplexed. How can there be when every tree is an evergreen? I’m seeing this in the Chicago area. Literally every tree is a pine tree of some sort. Therefore, it doesn’t look like seasons at all. Ive flown around Texas and I saw one orange tree. But everything else is pine. I’ve seen some pics from others and they have seasons and different trees. Anyone else seeing evergreens all around Chicago as the ONLY tree type?

Every new start of MSFS2024 is going thru Activating Packages. Is this normal ? Takes forever every time.

I wonder if I do something wrong ! in G1000 if I go to FPL and press FMS knob it suppose to highlight flight plan entry. But no matter how I click with mouse on FMS knob nothing happens. Basically "push knob" function doesn't work! I tried "legacy" interaction but still have the same result. Is that a bug or missing something?

Hi :) Just tried fs24 for the first and did a small night test, the headlight was on and i could'nt find the shortcut to turn it off, any idea ? Secondly i've been trying to display the fps in game but did not find it in settings like the dev mod in fs20 Is there a way ? Thank you :)

My system specs are; RTX 3050 Intel i7-12650 16GB RAM Has anyone tested MSFS 2024 on a similar setup? How does it perform at 1080p with High or Medium settings? I’m particularly curious whether it is more optimized compared to MSFS 2020? Any input would be much appreciated! Thanks in advance.

Tried Vancouver, Toronto, and Miami and all look really good. Better overall look than 2020, and amazingly smooth flight. Flying along the coast, north of Miami, my network is clocking about 11 Mbit/s steadily.. which my WiFi connection is happy to deliver.. Now that I have the hat switch on my yoke set correctly, I am beginning to enjoy the experience! 🙂

Is there already a thread somewhere? Now that MSFS2024 slightly gets up and running on most peoples machines, I wonder if I can already start moving addons over. Most installers now already offer the option, but without specific hint if the product is compatible or not. E.g. Contrail, if I select MSFS2024, I could theoretically install my 5 addons I have via Contrail, but will they work? Did Contrail check this and only offers addons being installed into MSFS2024 that really work? I am a bit at a loss here, not knowing if it makes already sense to install certain addons into the new sim already... and which ones...

i played P3D for years, havent been able to play for over a year and just figured start with MSFS24 now since I got the time....well struggling big time! I mostly fly commercial liners routes, havent gotten off a gate yet....I have configured the the keys setting to match P3D as much as possible., but cant figure out these. how do you start panel C&D? how do you save a flight with panel state? i have simbrief online, but no idea how to get it down to the FMC, I try using the iPad thing and click on download from simbrief but nothing happens, I havent found where in the sim do you connect to simbrief? i cant change view during slew, only tail view…

How can I disable the blue-ish overlays that are displayed when hovering over switches, buttons etc. in the aircraft cockpits? I have been trying to find how to do this in the assistance options, however, to no avail. These overlays are quite irritating. Thanks for any help.

My bluetooth mouse stopped working after launching FS2024. I need to close the simulator and restart my PC for it to work again. No problem with FS2020. Jean-Jacques
