Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

Enjoy people! With an improved flight model, revamped and massively improved ground handling, better clouds (cirrus), 24 hour historical weather, LIDO charts, vastly improved ground terrain, numerous new planes, etc, after the MSFS team fixes the bugs and 3rd party developers get the add-ons to work smoothly in MSFS 2024, I think this will turn out to be the best civilian flight simulator in history! Give the MSFS team time to fix the bugs and the 3rd party developer time to get their add-ons to work in MSFS 2024. It will probably take 2 to 3 months for things to smoothen out (and if you don't like the bugs and turbulent beginning, you can always fall back to MSFS 20…

Hi, folks. I know this will have been asked but try as I might, I'm not finding this question using the search function. I own the Steam version of 2020 but am considering the MS store version of 2024. I would assume, since the actual Microsoft account used to access the sim is the same, that in-sim store purchases I made in 2020 within Steam will carry over to the MS store version of 2024 but I can't seem to find a definitive answer anywhere. Does anyone know, please? Thank you! And to those who'll be a bit cross at this question presumably being asked yet again, I apologise wholeheartedly 😁

FYI, it took me awhile to figure out how to push buttons "in" using the G1000 and other planes....the key command is LMB & RMB pushed together.

I understand the disappointment of some... seriously! Not being able to fly on day 1. Some folks don't like the UI. There are streaming issues. But I've also seen so much from folks on Twitch and YouTube that looks **amazing** I watched someone take a bush plane into Alaska, land in a meadow, then walk and stand next to the river during sunset. Hi, Some areas have an amount of vegetation that does not correspond to reality at all. Take, for example, Valencia (Spain). Yesterday, I flew from LEVC to the south, to a small airfield in Benicolet. I know very well that area (my wife is from that village and like to fly to that place with MS2020). Now, the landscape looks more like the Amazon rainforest than the south-east of the Iberian Peninsula. So much so that I could not clearly distinguish where the villages and the airfield were. This area is much better represented in MS2020. Why this regression?

I put KSBA Santa Barbra and the A2A Comanche in MSFS to see how it looks. No issues on both. Santa Barbra blended perfectly in with the surrounding scenery and the Comanche flew perfectly. That said, I'm going to wait for native installers on the Comanche and Duke as what I really need is all the addons that allow those two planes to work (airmanger, popout manager, GTN750, Axis and Ohs, PollyPot etc) so once all those are available then I will look to put them in the sim properly. Meanwhile, I'm going to start my MSFS flying career.

MSFS has a lovely system that once you've set up a few keyboard commands you can set perfect custom views for yourself (in my case using right-control + a numpad number; then the numpad key to view that preset in the cockpit ... gives me 10 glorious and consistent custom views, many of which are linked to controller buttons). I've set up the exact same keys in MSFS 2024, made sure there are no conflicts, and while I can save it ... it doesn't always return me to the saved position (invariably off by moving either forward or backward ... wot's that? Keeping my system free of the usual helis I have enjoyed so much the last few years and concentrating – for now – on just the H125 and Super Puma. Both seem beautifully modelled, I appreciate little distractions like the ability to open hatches etc during the preflight. But cannot quite get me head around flying either of these in a satisfactory manner. Some helis in MSFS 2020 (Cabri, the B407 with the Simfocus mod <- important that, and the brilliant Taog UH-1 and Lama) are not too bad at all. Anybody seen crops anywhere in the world? I'm seeing very detailed ground terrain, but I haven't seen a single crop anywhere. Is there a setting (that I can't find) to turn on crops. So far every field is flat but with detailed terrain.

I know there are problems, but I cannot see any mention of the problems I am experiencing, so wondering if I am doing anything wrong, - in fact any help would be appreciated 1) When I open the Xbox app on my PC (Windows 11), I get a popup inviting me to send an invite to friends. I cannot get rid of this popup, so cannot launch MSFS 2024 from the Xbox app. 2) When I then go to the windows store, I can see that I have the base MSFS 2024 in the library. But each time I go there, there is a cloud next to the MSFS 2024 Premium package, suggesting it needs downloading - so I have to download it each and every time. 3) When I start MSFS 2024, by clicking the open…

I am having push back issues in the a321. Not using GSX, Chocks removed during walkaround, GPU removed. Barking brake off. I do not have rudder pedals but have Button 1 on my Extreme Pro set to brakes. I have tried tapping on the brakes and that does not work. For giggles, I tested the brakes on the runway and it was fine. I do have an issue puishing back on the MAX.

They all show up and function correctly under 'USB Game Controllers' in Windows. They all show up inside MSFS 2024. But they do not register any buttons/axis changes. When I use the Hardware button to see the graph, the dot is not moving when I move the control.

I set up the flight with only a 200 lb pilot on board, and yet, when I look to the right, I see someone sitting next to me.. How do I dump this unwanted passenger?

It should be "Our bandwidth is too low" and maybe add a "sorry" at least stop blaming us for your problems and be honest..

Hi guys. I think this is something that happened on MS 2020 back then early on, i am unable to change the location of the rolling cache to another drive. I tried setting it to 2 gb at first on C drive (which is almost full), then to change the location to the G drive on another folder but as soon as i get out of that screen and i get back in it, it's back to the default C location. I also tried the opposite, first changing it to G and then changing the size but i still meet the same outcome. Is it happening for you too?

Anyone knows how to change the payload while on the tarmac? The planner only plans things and there isn't a payload option in the menu at the top. I must be missing something obvious. I am trying to start the Vision Jet from cold and dark but it just won't work.

Hi all Downloaded FS2024 and it works. But when I start or restart FS2024 it takes about 15 minutes until it is ready to play. Do you make the same experience? Peter

I am waiting and watching with FS2024 release for the dust to settle. But I'm getting a bad feeling about this. -its now more gamey than ever? -flight physics have been dumbed down? (Helicopters?) -the key mappings have all changed? Only 4 saved view positions? -The trees are STILL way Oversized? -The curtain effect on bridges is STILL there and worse than ever? What is happening to this 'sim' ? Why are we seeing these kinds of blunders? 800 Devs, so many new aircraft but core stuff which really bugs me 😝
