Too fast for me!
Lol!🫡 When we were youngsters - before wife, kids and mortgaged bliss - a handful of friends and I would go motorcycle racing. It was kinda fun but also a great way to burn through quite a bit of cash and injure yourself into the bargain. I did it for around three years before the young lady who would become my missus wisely declared 'enough!' About five years after my inglorious racing career finished they invented 'track days' here in the UK. Wow! What a great idea! For a minimal fee you get to thrash your bike around the track to your hearts content. It's NOT racing but still great fun. Eventually three of us bought a ten year old YZF600 which had been a production racer but was now hopelessly outclassed for competitive racing. It was a bit battered but cheap as chips and came with spare wheels, spare clipons, spare footpegs, two sets fibreglass bodywork and a strong engine. We'd put it on a trailer and pile into my mates Volvo estate. At the circuit you'd generally get around three, twenty minute long sessions out on the track on the day which was enormous, exhausting fun and get to go home afterwards without hurting yourself. All at a fraction of the cost of competitive racing. We did this for five years until calling it a day....due to increasing old age!🤔

Beta Test: Old FFB joystick (ffb on) Linux - XP12/MSFS2024
Just to reiterate how good this app is. If you've got a MSFFB2 Sidewinder laid up in a cupboard somewhere, now is the time to dig it out and give this a go!

Beta Test: Old FFB joystick (ffb on) Linux - MSFS 24/XP12
Used the new version briefly last night and it's excellent. Can confirm the Save feature is working fine. As to other FFB sticks? Check this out; https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/list-of-force-feedback-hardware/648622 Microsoft made over a million FFB sticks back in the day. Obviously the mk.1 gateport versions are mostly in landfill but the USB connected mk.2's must be gathering dust somewhere as they're pretty indestructible. The Logitech G940 system of ffb stick, linked pedals and hotas was a contemporary of MS's offering but nowhere near as sophisticated or robust. I had a set once. The wiring in the hotas would break and the hotas pots would spike. I doubt there's many of them around now.

Too fast for me!
Must admit I find high speed in cars rather horrible; it's that 'enclosed' feeling and the knowledge that if anything happens over 40mph there's a lot of energy within that mass that's got to be dumped somewhere... My father was a traffic policeman for many years through the fifties and sixties and had a habit of pressing an imaginary brake pedal whenever my mother was at the wheel - which used to irritate her no end and it's a trait I've inherited and has the same effect on my wife!😃 Motorcycles on the other hand...in 1985 I had a red Kawasaki Gpz 1100 which at the time was a very fast motorcycle indeed. My friends and I used to go all around Europe in the summer on our bikes. We were on the A5 out of Frankfurt heading for Hannover - the intention was to go into West Berlin - it was mid morning and traffic was light. I'd been sat in the left hand lane doing a comfortable 130mph indicated, passing everything when I glanced at my right hand mirror and it was completely red. It took my brain a few seconds to process this information. I looked in my left hand mirror and had the view of the carriageway behind me. I looked in my righthand mirror again and it was just...red. I thought the mirror glass had fallen out and I was just looking at the mirror holder...but something wasn't right. I then took a quick look over my shoulder and three feet off my rear wheel sat a bright red Porche! I managed to control my astonishment, open the throttle and pulled gently over into the 'slow' lane. Whereupon the Porche overtook me slowly and then continued to accelerate away into the distance. He did give me a polite wave in the mirror though!😲

Jonathan you are an absolute star!!! Have had a lot of fun this evening with my throbbing monster.😃 This works really well and is a bit of a revelation actually. I've never had so many options to control the forces before and how nice it is to get back into using old faithful after 6 months of a Honeycomb yoke with it's ludicrous bungee cord. I've spent the evening with my Kodiak and Spitfire playing around with the options. Tomorrow I'll get down to some serious fine tuning but this is fantastic.🫡

Which no brainer airport for 1 -2 hrs airliner flight ?
In that case you don't need to buy anything to practice IFR with complex airliners.

It's a big team, there's a lot going on. They're on the edge of greatness but they can't quite see the wood for the trees...
