Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

Hi just wondered if anyone else gets this problem. When i start any aircraft in this sim I always start as if i'm 1 feet tall and the top half shows me under the wing no matter the height of the wing from the ground. The bottom half of the screen sort of shows the character cutomisation screen and i have no way to raise my height or get rid of the bottom half of the screen.

Hello fellow simmers. I am having a problem with setting up controls. I have watched videos on how to delete a setting on a controller. The step is to hover over the Joystick setting where unbind shows on the bottom. I use the backspace and it does not remove the setting. Does anyone know what I am doing wrong? I appreciate your suggestions

I just installed MSFS2024 and see that the cockpit HUD is on by default. How do you turn that off? I have been searching but can't find the necessary control. I looked through the menus, and I do see there are bindings for Hold and Toggle HUD view, but nothing is assigned. Thanks, Al

Return to Misty Moorings seems to work well for 2024. Been flying around Ketchikan, Sitka and Kodiak Island. If you haven't checked out RTMM as of yet I'd highly recommend it. It gives you cabins to visit and make deliveries to etc, lighthouses, and a home base near Ketchikan. Also, Alaska's mountains look fantastic now many of them were not too defined in 2020. Even the mountains in Adak are detailed. Loving 2024.

Does anyone know the location of that nice mountain top farm that appears during the '24 load in screen, the one the helicopter is spraying? Lee

If I only fly addon planes like Fenix and since I'll be moving my 3rd party airports into 2024, is there any particular reason to buy any version besides the least expensive? I plan on removing any Asobo airports that conflict with my 3rd party ones. Is there any other reason to get a different version than standard in my situation? I couldn't find one but wanted to be sure. Thanks!

Haven't seen anything but wanted to see in case I missed something. Given the poor launch, I would think by now they've had some days to pull together an urgent / top priority set of fixes...or are they going to wait a month? Seems strange not to hear any commitment from them about what is going to happen beyond the initial server upgrades.

Hello, Two question. There are already some 3rd party airports compatible with MSFS2024. Example EHRD. But there is also a EHRD from Asobo marked as streamed in Marketplace. So how can I disable the Asobo one so that it's not streamed anymore. Now I have bad FPS and 2 Control Towers 😉 Also it seems the FPS and smoothness can vary between days....(server issues??)

Just as the title asks. How do I disable streamed scenery or airplanes? I bought the word not allowed scenery of KATL from Imagine Sim when MSFS was just released. I purchased the Imagine Sim scenery through the marketplace. MSFS released the custom scenery for said airport sometime later, which I much prefer, so I disabled the Imagine sim Ver. I started the MSFS 2024 sim today and found that the Imagine Sim scenery is now the dominant scenery at KATL, whereas yesterday it was not. I went to my 2024 library intending to disable the Imagine Sim ver, but I do not see any option to do so. Indeed, MS and ASOBO did not release the Simulator without allowing users to …

What do any of you think about Active Sky for 2024? Is it something worth considering or is the weather and clouds in the new sim better?

Everything in 2024 yesterday seemed to be coming together nicely. Good scenery, I could load a few of my favorite addons, FPS was in mid-40s with high and ultra settings, controls were working well. Today - 2024 made me think about asking for my Steam money to be returned - All my control setting for the Airbus T320 stick vanished, AGAIN. I carefully created and saved them yesterday with a custom name. I restarted the sim yesterday and found my custom settings. Today - those custom settings are gone. - Frame Gen is no longer even visible as an option (works perfectly in 2020 DLSS 3.8.10) and I can find nothing to make it return in 2024 (I did verify t…

Dear All, For some time now, I get a message about encountering a DonelO Crash during almost every flight. The message randomly appears after about 10 minutes but it doesn't seem to affect the sim. I would be interested to know what the message is about and how I can stop having it. May I ask if anyone can assist me? Many thanks in advance. Peter

I copied the default profile for my T.A320 flight stick and renamed it. I want to DELETE everyone of the 35 entries in the profile because all I use is the Z & X axis and three buttons. Pressing CLEAR when I am viewing the assignments in my newly renamed profile makes the screen blink, one line of the profile disappears and then reappears. But it does not clear. I do know how to use the cog wheel delete option but that is a PITA for 33 entries. I tried to start a new profile with no entries but that does not appear to be possible. I have watched all the videos but none address the deletion issue - they all seem to thing deleting one at a time…

2024 takes 3-minutes longer to go from pressing Play in the Steam window to Fly in the sim flight window than does 2020 with exactly the same addons and settings. I am on a 1 Gb Xfinity connection and run everything on NVMe devices. I can buy a 2 TB M.2 super fast PCIe 5.0 device for $180. That is a one time pain and I am sure it is big enough for the sim stuff I want downloaded one time. But, with 2024 I suffer the long loading times and occasional server problems every time I fly. What kind of a benefit does MS/Asobo think they achieve with the download ALL data?

Is night lighting for airports still non existent? Or is there any for larger airports?

So I decided I wanted to see what career mode was all about. I opened it up and it told me to pick what airport I wanted to start at. I selected KLAS and then nothing happened. I didn't see a 'next' button or anything like that. What do you do after you select your airport in Career Mode? Thanks ......

I know this is petty, but, I tried career mode for the first time this morning. In the first scene the guy calls me by my login name, which is robg2023. It sounded really stupid. Is there a way to change that name?

I know this aircraft is probably not compatible yet but I tried to load her anyway. I could do a walk around, sort of. I could grab the aileron, rudder and elevator and move them. Also, I could remove the pins that hold the engine cover and I could even turn the prop. Unfortunately, I could not get the engine started. It would be fun to go outside and turn the prop to get it started, then climb back in, or get sliced in half you forgot to set the brakes. I was mainly trying to see whether opening the window still causes a crash. Since the default aircraft also can open windows during flight I was curious how it would go with this one.

In freeflight mode, I cannot find a way to refuel my aircraft after I run out of fuel..

Is anyone else having issues with missing tower frequencies for airports that should have a tower? My home airport (KALN) has a tower but the frequency doesn't appear in the ATC Frequencies list or when I attempt to contact KALN tower. The tower frequency is listed as CTAF (Common Traffic Advisory Frequency) which is basically a UNICOM channel, not ATC in the tower. I have found other airports near me that should have a manned tower but missing ATC functions. Larger airports, like St. Louis International has tower, ground, etc. frequencies. Just trying to figure out if I have a messed up setting somewhere. Thanks in advance!

Has anyone noticed that the Cessa 2024 Longitude taxi lights and landing lights are pointing straight down?
