Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

Anyone know how to map the collective to get it working for the sky crane? Every other helicopter I can get the collective moving with my Bravo, however with the blackbird sky Crane for some reason the collective does not move, even with It mapped to the collective axis

So I decided to install msfs2024 day before yesterday. Store version. Been flying with 2020 for 4 years. All went well and was actually able to complete a couple of flights in the A320v2. I then copied and pasted everything that was in my msfs2020 community folder into the msfs2024 community folder. That where everything went south. As soon as I pressed Start flight the game froze and heard that windows "ding" and in another window got a Error: DXGI Unknown(0x887a002b). Says this error could be from a 1. MSFS 2024 is putting its own registration/tail numbers on my custom-created liveries. This first image from MSFS 2020 is what I want. N012SB in the font and size that is included in the livery itself. The tail number is configured in the aircraft.cfg file for the livery, and as can be seen here worked perfectly in MSFS 2020. There was a tail number field in MSFS 2020 in the aircraft's customization area from the World Screen. If left blank the liveries own tail number would display. Hi, Is there a way to hide the toolbar or any utility that will stop the white downward overlay appearing anytime the cursor is moved? I believe I downloaded something off flightsim.to for 2020, but that doesn’t seem to work in 2024 Thanks

So now that people have had some time to better understand 2020 and 2024 together what would people recommend? I have the option of "either" dual booting to a separate windows instance and installing FS2024 on it's own OS which would mean clean registry settings, different driver settings etc. "OR" I also have ample HDD space to just install 2024 it in my current Windows install alongside 2020 and all my add-ons with their current registry entries, driver settings etc. Either way I have a free 1TB M.2 drive. My 2020 Community folder is on a separate drive altogether so in theory the first option of dual booting would still have access to the drive …

Hey guys, Just noticed this when trying to update my Fenix installer , Navigragph Hub as well.. custom scenery...etc For reasons best known the MS, the config file just changed the path of the sim back to the default!!! ( this after installing the sim to a different drive!)When entering the sim, i discovered no Fenix, no airports i had bought etc.. After a google search it appears this can be an issue! I thought i was going mental! Just in case anyone else has this issue of things not showing after you installed them, double check your community folder or main installation folder path.. the most random frustrating thing Ive seen so far!!!

Also, can I install it in any PC drive? Thank you.

I don't have MSFS 2024. Why am I getting a mandatory update when I start MSFS 2020? OK , it just looks like the Nav data, but the change log had all kinds of aircraft fixes for aircraft I don't even have. ??

I have read reports that the MS Store version has less problems with regards to the installation of MSFS 2024. I don't know if this is accurate. WIll add-ons in the community folder which were purchased in MSFS 2020 Steam go over to MS Store's 2024? What if the new email account is different between the Steam and MS Store? Can I install the MS Store 2024 in the desktop (for home use) and also in another desktop or laptop (when going on vacation or trip ie. there will only be one user at a time). At our last group flight, I saw only typical AI airplanes (PC12 and Baron) when looking at my team mates, whereas they reported seeing the actual C208s, G36, and Cirrus airplanes that we were flying. Has anyone figured out what settings are required to see realistic aircraft?

I do most of my testing using the ASOBO Default C-172. In 2020 I can grease most landings and gracefully taxi to my parking spot. In 2024 I am having a terrible time controlling the aircraft on the ground. I landed the C0172 at 65 knots but a little long on KSEE RWY 27R which is 5300' at 359' above sea level. I could not get the plane stopped and ran off the end of the runway. It seemed like the brakes were ineffective. Did a couple more test flights. The foot brakes are sufficient to hold the plane still at full throttle while on the ground. Pressing the CH Pro Pedals toe brakes move the toe brakes in the sim as I would expect. Flew the default C-172 out of KSEE. Sitting on RWY 09L the FPS was 10 to 12 and CPU frame time was 40 to 50 ms. I was using the Scattered cloud preset that comes with the sim. Flew on runway heading for two minutes and FPS stayed the same as at start of flight. All other hardware measures also remained the same. Went into the weather menu and changed to Clear Skies preset - no other changes. FPS jumped up to 25 and frame time dropped to 23ms. Went back to Scattered clouds preset and frame rate and frame time remained at 25 and 23. Flew for 10-minutes with everything staying the same. Landed on RWY 27R at KSEE with no problems. In MSFS2020 I had the spacebar assigned to what in me memory was called something like Landing view. If I pressed the spacebar my view would go up a bit, like you would sit straight up, and when I pressed it again I would 'sit down' again. I can't find a similar option in MSFS2024... Anyone knows if it is still there and/or where it did go? I miss it!

Hello Gang. Today while doing some testing over at NZAA I could not help notice that even though everything was fluid graphics-wise, every time I looked towards the terminal in either cockpit or external view, my frames would drip to 1 or 2. Also while approaching the airport things would get so dicey that it became hard to control the aircraft. Anyone else noticed this anomaly or is it an issue on my end??? Thanks.

Late to the party as just changed ISP and get game pass for 12 months just installed and loaded up it gets to the screen activating packages and it takes about 20 minutes to get past this each time before I’m actually in the game. Is this normal? cheers

In the beginning...I could go online and see people. I could also turn off/on their labels. Simples. For the past 4 or 5 days (feels longer) that is no longer the case. I've scoured the labyrinth called 'Settings' ...and retired hurt. Anyone having the same problem? Anyone HAD the same problem and fixed it. You call will be important to us. Can I install Bravo Throttle Quadrant and Yoke to FS2024?

I remember that it took me sometime to figure out how to calibrate the Fenix Airbus throttles in MSFS 2020. In MSFS 2024, I have created a new airplane profile for the Fenix airbuses, and then I have selected the axis for both throttle 1 and throttle 2 and inverted the axis, which I assume is the same as reverse in MSFS 2020. This does not seem to work. My throttle is the Thrustmaster Hotas Warthog one..................got reverse power working OK, just cannot get forward thrust in order to calibrate. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Anyone able to figure out how to disable the blue highlighting as you hover over cockpit controls? Used to be an accessibility setting in FS2020 (I think), but don't see the option in 2024.

So, it was nice that after trial and error, I was able to find Jorg's e-mail address and started writing to him, to show how blind people interact with their computer. So, you would have thought from our round table telephone discussion phone calls, that the flight team would have taken us seriously for fs 2024. No luck. I have it from a reliable source that fs 2024 isn't still accessible. I hope that Jorg is reading this letter. I've tried over and over to e-mail him with no reply. Slewing in MSFS isnt easy for me and I have a wide screen monitor so the edges are stretched. But I wanted to check that statement of those who are saying too many trees or the trees are too tall with my own comparison. This is a drone video I took over Nantucket and I used the same month and location in the sim to compare it with. We are a small island made up of beach sand from a glacier melt so our trees arent tall and from the ground they certainly dont look tall. Yet from the drone view they dominate over two and three story homes and buildings.

Today, I went into my Navigraph Hub and installed the various modules to enable charts in MSFS 2024. But then when I tried to create a flight plan in the sim, I got a CTD every time. Finally had to uninstall the Navigraph stuff. Has anyone been able to make it work in the new sim?

HI, I had to reset Windows 10 completely. I am trying to relaunch MSFS 2020 from the external SSD drive where I had installed it (so MSFS 2020 is still there). When I launch the .exe file, the system says it is not a PC game. On the other hand, I tried to reinstall MSFS 2020 from the CDs purchased on the MS STORE, but the system crashed on the fourth disk. Is there a way to launch MSFS 2020 from the external drive, knowing that my appdata folder no longer contains a link to MSFS 2020.
