  1. I encountered an error when trying to launch Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 for the first time and haven't been able to resolve it. I'm sharing the details here, and I would greatly appreciate any assistance. My AMD RX 580 graphics card supports DirectX 12, but when I try to launch Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, I receive the errors mentioned above. Based on my research, it seems that the RX 580 supports DirectX 12.0, but the game may require DirectX 12.1. What I Have Tried So Far: Updated Graphics Drivers: All drivers are up to date using the AMD Adrenalin software. Checked Windows Updates: My operating system is fully updated. Reinstalled…

  2. Started by fppilot,

During the only (3) flights I have made with FS2024 where I climbed to above FL360 I witnessed an unusual OAT change of -10°C in only 2,000 ft of climb to FL380. -49°C to -59°C. Normal OAT lapse rate is -2°C per 1,000 ft. so that rate of change is highly unusual. After FL380 I then see OAT stay the same or even gain back a degree on up to FL420. It should continue to go lower. In the Hjet I am also seeing a spike in fuel burn in that narrow altitude range. The aircraft model has not changed. Burn in that altitude band/range appears to be +8% over MS2020. Anyone seeing similar experience with OAT and burn rate with any aircraft in that altitude band?

Hi I'm wondering if I can make MSFS 2024 my default sim between MSFS 2020 and MSFS 2024? And How do I go about doing so? Any help or info is greatly appreciated. TIA I'm on PC btw.

  4. Started by ErichB,

Doing my first flight since the Simbrief integration. Planned the flight and selected the correct airframes in Simbrief. On initialising the setup in the aircraft, entering my Simbrief ID and the FROM/TO airports, the aircraft fails to find the route file when I press the ROUTE REQUEST LSK. Does anyone know where the sim would be looking for this file? I thought this was set up as a standard folder.

Sorry if it has been asked before. But will they continue to update 2020 for while yet? As i dont plan on moving to 2024 for a long long while as i am quite content and happy with how i have my sim lookingsnd set up. Thanks Mike

  7. This is probably relevant as more and more payware airports become available for MSFS2024: https://forum.inibuilds.com/topic/24245-how-to-override-streamed-airport-content-msfs2024/

  9. How Can I keep blue taxi ribbon ON but turn OFF Take off blue path boxes I turn of Visual Assistance but I just want the taxi ribbons to be displayed like in FS 2020 and I don't need the blue boxes that are on runway and show you where to fly to Thanks

Hello, flying in MSFS2024, I'm finding that the darkness of flying at night actually looks milky, or like I'm looking through fog. In the C-17 I tried turning on the dome light and that got rid of some of the milky fog in the cockpit but of course no impact for the external views. I tried to take a screenshot but the screenshots don't show the issue, it actually looks how I would expect the sim to look. If I open the .jxr screenshot file it will temporarily look like what I'm seeing before quickly reverting to a nicer, dark screen shot. This is not an issue I had in MSFS2020. It almost seems like an HDR issue...my monitor (TV) and MSFS are both set to HDR…

Simple question - is this thing flyable, such as Fenix/PMDG or it's merely a RC. thanks!

  12. Started by hvw,

Is it possible to import Simbrief generated flight plans into FS2024? And if so, how to accomplish that? Thanks

    Just Flight RJ just released

  14. I'm guessing it might be a change they made to accommodate 2024 but in any case it loads to the departure gate fine, can power up batteries and ground power but when it comes time to input into Position Init unable to interact w/ the VC buttons and FMC etc and have to abort. I tried restarted MSFS 2020, no joy, reboot/retry, no joy. Anyone else?

  15. Hi All Can someone check their MSFS 2024 C172 Basic (Analog) and confirm they have no electrics for instrumentation, lighting etc Thanks Wayne

  16. Started by cianpars,

I have been promised 2024 for Christmas and am wondering whether I will see any great improvements considering I mainly use the sim for VFR free flight (C152 and C172). I've seen higher resolution mesh, trees along with better lighting and weather. TLOD also looks like it's better, but ground textures look quite similar to me. A big question for me is are you seeing significantly improved performance (FPS and smoothness) with similar settings? From the videos I've seen, this would appear a lot more marginal than I was expecting from a sim that is supposed to have been completely rewritten from the ground.

Can someone tell me what the Tiller Axis is labeled as and where it is in 2024? I can't find it and I want to map some hardware to it. Thanks

  18. Started by RobJC,

Does it still work fine or did MSFS 2024 cause those servers to stutter also? I plan on diving into MSFS 2020 after Thanksgiving and i hope i have a sim to dive into. Any major new issues?

  19. Hi there, Our A32NX now has a custom-built performance calculator tailored specifically to the A320neo. Available now on the Development version! Our calculator lets the pilots: Determine if the airplane can take off at the intended takeoff weight from a designated runway at a specified temperature, wind, and QNH setting using a specified airplane configuration and bleed settings (A/I and A/C); Determine the Flex temperature if a reduced thrust setting (Flex) can be used; Determine the appropriate takeoff speeds, V1, VR, and V2, for the conditions specified. Please note: We will be disabling the VSpeeds auto input LSK on the MCDU shortly on th…

Good morning everyone, Sorry if this has been asked before, but I couldn't find a solution. The problem is that the autopilot isn' t working at all, no matter what, and it isn't specific to a plane, it is affecting all my planes. The only addon I have installed is the PMDG B738,the other ones are default planes.I have unistalled and reinstalled MSFS2024 twice without any positive result. Is this a MSFS2024 bug or just on my site? Thanks for your help.

  22. As a result of the ever increasing complexity and attempted complexity in flight simulation generally, I have a simple test of whether a program can accurately be called a flight simulator: 1. I set up a flight with a 10 knot crosswind landing in a Cessna 172 and see how well the program simulates the control compensations (that many simmers are familiar with) that are necessary land safely in real life. 2. If it doesn't come close, (as is the case with both MSFS 2020 and 2024) then, in my view, it is something ...but it is not a flight simulator and no amount of tweaking will make it one. If you concentrate on relatively inconsequential features [e.g. …

G'day all, can anybody help me with this - my nickname since miliatary days has allways been Rattso - how I got it don't ask!! Now in FS2020 & all other MS Xbox games it is still Rattso = but in 2024 I have suddenly become dopeytree123456 (sorta) = I have gone into my xbox account & tried to change it - but it still gives Rattso as my assigned name - tried xbox help but you never get to anywhere to actually submit a plea for help - very fruuuuustrating!!! - any ideas please

Sorry to start a new thread for a basic question, but does anyone else have problems with the ADF on the C152? As in it doesn't work at all? I can't tune it.
