So thanks to the help of abrams_tank I was able to get some of my bindings working on my Bravo TQ. I have not however been able to do a what I thought to be a simple binding for the reversers for the Airbuses (specifically Fenix). I was able to bind the axis on the throttles but cannot bind the controller past the detent nor the flaps. I have a Flightsim Factory Throttle mod for the Airbus and it performs well in 2020 but not to 2024. Someone stated that they use Spad.next and when I took a look at it, it seemed to me that it would take way too much of my time to try and figure it out. If anyone has the Fenix and the Bravo TQ working in 2024 can they please advise. Many …

I installed a small freeware app, 'Shift + Z' that ran in 2020 & showed several flight data elements, including FPS. It runs in 2024, but doesn't show FPS. Is there any way I can view the 2024 FPS # during a flight? T45

I've tried everything to stop seeing the Red Man and customise my avatar but clearly I'm going to have to wait for Microsoft to sort out this bug because each time it ends up being a CTD. I sense some of you have managed to find a workaround but I've spent too much unnecessary time on this simulator already. I've requested a refund and I'm out until it works properly.

  5. Well, after the good mood, the bad mood ... It's been almost 1 week since I started, first trying to use, then using, FS 2024. I have been positively impressed by aspects like "Performance" (less the long times it takes to load...), "Scenery quality", and the "bunch" of default aircraft that come with my Standard Edition. I have been trying to take the most out of the new Control Settings Logic, and while I'm not 100% sure about how to deal with it, I can't blame it even if at start I felt it was a true mess... It's not a mess, it requires, IMHO, a good tutorial / manual, but I can understand, and I accept as innovative in the positive sense the ratio…

I flew almost all day yesterday with pretty solid results. Actually having a rather good time with the new sim despite some teething troubles that still remain and I managed to program all the key maps to my liking. This morning things looked a bit better out the window as far as details but now its an unplayable stutter fest. Now booting up FS2020 to test the new Fenix A320 build in that sim! I am guessing that we are have now arrived on Thanksgiving Eve and a lot of people are now off work the servers are now overloaded again!

Streaming is faster today and the detail is becoming even more amazing. I now see hedgerows and walls! The resolution of the ground has stepped up a notch as the streaming has improved. As I said in my previous post about terrain resolution, it is no longer possible to land anywhere - you have to check the area out first as you would irl. This video is in the Leeds area of the UK. You can see so much ground detail and features not there in 2020. Towards the end of the video you can see the walls and hedgrows appear, separating the fields. Look closely enough and you'll see farm animals run away from the aircraft. 2020 ground is already starting to look bland…

Today I discovered that MSFS 2024 is streaming scenery and liveries that I bought in the Marketplace for MSFS 2020, that I don't want anymore, and I don't want them in MSFS 2024. However, no option is provided to turn them off or delete them, I'm stuck with them, at the moment, against my will. Hopefully they will provide a way to remove those unwanted items. I think this is something that is coming, is that not true? Lee

  10. I know Sérgio since quite a few years, and visit his Helisimmer site anytime I need feedback on a rotary wing product for any of the platforms he covers. During more than a decade Sérgio has been a reference in rotary wing simulation, and since FS 2020 also a very enthusiastic user and supporter of the platform, so I read his comments with attention and agree with him in most of what he has to say, even though I am watching FS 2024 with pink shades and somehow fell "in Love" with remarkable flight simulation platform already 🙂 My initial impressions on MSFS2024 – I am not pleased • HeliSimmer.com

Just read on the Fenix Discord page, that they are no longer accepting support questions for 2024, " Due to it's experimental stage".

Hello, I’m flying Cessna Longitude and after a few tests, i must say the AP won’t engage every time. To explain the randomness, I wonder what flight conditions do not allow the AP to be engaged. Thanks for help

  13. Excuse my ignorance if this has been talked about elsewhere. I believe that Microsofts lucrative combo, Xbox and Gamepass, has heavily influenced the design of the new sim. Has the launch been smoother on the console than for pc users? Is there anyone here on Xbox? I also assume it will run on both the One and 360.

  16. This is weird. The last few sessions I've used 2020 over the last week I've had this problem. I can use the sim on first load very well. It's never been better. Problem is, when I'm done with current flight and want start another it's not possible without quitting sim entirely and restarting. Is anyone else seeing this? Seems to have started about same time the new flight planner(Simbrief?) was introduced. You start flight normally with the world screen/select airport and aircraft then fly. After quitting flight though most of home screen is missing, especially the pick aircraft and the choose airport /runway /gate interface. The map is there and I can c…

  17. Well, after finally having a few days of being able to test the waters with msfs 2024, this evening it is back to constant ctds which usually occur about 2 seconds after the Start button appears on the screen. I got into the game once this evening, but again ctd while trying to select a plane. This sim has some nice new features, but wow, what a big letdown compared to the initial buildup and marketing. One of my favourite improvements is that the runway lights are not on in the daytime. Flight dynamics feel a bit better, especially the feeling of touchdown and rollout. Sounds are better on the few planes I have tried. The color of inland water is more accurate.…

Hello. Flying around Phoenix in msfs2024 is very disappointing. I don’t seem to have the area with all the buildings and stadium west of KPHX. looks nothing like it does in 2020 or real life. Looks more like fsx autogen. No stadium and generic buildings. Also lush greens trees all over the desert mountains looks out of place. And taxiing from the north side of KPHX to the south side on the east side of the airport has massive terrain issues. Checked online settings and everything is turned on. Is this a problem on my end or is Phoenix just not very good in 2024?

  20. MSFS 2024 is becoming more stable each day. I am still seeing some streaming issues on some flights, but overall it is a joy to use. The increased terrain resolution is perhaps the biggest upgrade from 2020. any land area big enough could be landed on, but 2024 has changed that. I picked a random river in New Zealand to show the increased resolution which demonstrates you can't land anywhere 😁 The new trees, seasons, cliff faces, rocks etc are also great updates. * I had an addon running that caused some stutters, but without that running the sim is smooth.

  22. Back in FSX days, we could go into the individual aircraft cfgs and modify the contact points of how a plane sits on the ground (or more importantly, the water). Is that possible with MSFS 2024?

  23. Hello. I was installing MSFS 2020 at about 30% when my PC crashed. I rebooted it and it now says i have to reinstall all 130GBs of the sim. When i already installed about 20GBs. Any tips? I dont want to start over because its very slow

  24. Started by Purr,

1 Do I need to uninstall them first in 2020? 2 how / where do I point an installer if it is looking for 2020? 3. for other addons can I just install to the 2024 community folder?

  25. My Community folder is on my very fast M.2 A drive. MSFS 2024 starts and finds it there and I see my addons while in the sim. Sometimes the sim "remembers" it as being on A: for several sim sessions in a row. Then randomly, in no particular pattern, I start the sim and the Installed Path pointer in UserCfg.opt is set back to pointing at the default Community location on C in...AppData\Roaming...etc. Why does that reversion occur and how do I prevent it?
