Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

I’ve run into an issue this afternoon trying to do a flight in the A330. Basically the screen shows the terrain at the airport I intend to fly out of, but the flight never loads, there’s just a white spinning circle in the bottom right corner. I was able to load flights earlier… I wonder if this is another server load issue? I let it go for ten minutes the first time then had to ctrl-alt-del out of the sim. Tried four more times and just can’t get a flight to load. EDIT: I was able to load I to the sim with the C-17 at a remote airport, maybe this is a big airport issue.

It's my understanding that MSFS 2020 aircraft can be used in the 2024 sim, but can someone tell how they are imported?

I like to have AI traffic enabled mainly to see aircraft on the airports. I am using the Medium preset for graphics. However, all AI planes pop up very noticably when I at around 100 or 150 meters from where I am. So when I taxi on a large airport I constanly see planes popping up. Quite the immersion killer. Anyone knows which setting I could/should change to prevent this from happening?

My first 4 days were horrible. I couldn't fly 5 min without a crash to desktop. It turns out I had a ram compatibility issue created by myself. Anyway, once I switched the memory the crashing stop. Over the weekend I spent about 16 hours playing around with 2024. At the start I was frustrated with the controller setup and setting. By Sunday afternoon I was really enjoying 2024. I personally think the state of 2024 is ahead of 2020 at its release. I'm not concerned over any refund. I think that's very premature. I also understood from my previous 30+ years in this hobby that every new simulator needs a minimum 6 months to mature from release. …

Hey folks, In MSFS 2024, if you make a mistake and assign a key to two different actions, how do you delete the incorrect one?

So it's been one week since MSFS 2024 was released. The servers are working well enough today - the servers are not perfect, but I haven't read of too many cases of people still stuck on the installation of MSFS 2024 in the past two days. To be fair, I rate the first 2 days of MSFS 2024 as worse than the first 2 days of MSFS 2020 (and thus, I rate the launch of MSFS 2024 as worse than the launch of MSFS 2020). I remember in the first 2 days of MSFS 2020, people waited a long time to download the sim but once they could download it and spawn in, they could at least fly until they CTDed. Looks like Microsobo "re-imagined" the controls and I can't find what worked in 2020. Chase camera settings are gone.

Hi all, Apologies if this is in the wrong section feel free to move if required. Hopefully someone on here might know a heck of a lot more than me on setting bindings with spad neXt I'm slowly trying to get my head round it before i decide buying it ,but its quite a steep learning curve with setting some of the button options, I'm trying to bind the cockpit camera reset view to a button on my joystick but just cannot seem to get it to work. I've tried adding the condition and the action that mentions camera reset but that didn't work does anyone know possible spad settings that are required to do this action Thanks

Silly question time...do MSFS 2020 and MSFS 2024 utilize the same servers? I ask this question because my previously lightning fast 2020 installation now won't stay online at all ever since 2024 was released. I know the internet disconnect issue has been around forever and I'm a veteran of the frequent disconnected/reconnected messages. With no changes to my rig or setup, the connection dies as soon as my aircraft loads and stays down until I shut down the sim. The good news is that an ethernet cable solves the problem. I'm just curious if other 2020 simmers have experienced this. Is Asobo trying to push both sims through the same servers? Is this even an legit question? …

I've got all my planes (all 2 of them) setup so I dont need help in that, but instead more about understanding the three different categories and their purpose. General Controls Airplane Controls Specific (insert whatever plane you are currently using) Controls I like that you can turn off controllers and that the plane now remembers assignments for specific planes so you no longer have to do that after switching planes but exactly what is the streamlined process that they were thinking on this? What are the purposes of these three categories? I know you can rename and duplicate stuff but I am lost at what a good flow to assign them is mainly because w…

Has anyone had luck in setting up and saving custom camera views in MSFS 2024? They don't seem to save properly, it also seems to be intermittent, sometimes it works and sometimes not.

So I have all my controls and views setup in MSFS 2024 as I use them in MSFS 2020. Now to be fair, I only use a Thrustmaster 16000m as my joystick, and I also use my mouse and keyboard. I don't have more complex peripherals as some of you have. To be honest, the huge learning curve for setting up controls and views was in MSFS 2020, not in MSFS 2024. The reason is, MSFS 2024 is pretty much using the same terms to bind your control inputs to that MSFS 2020 is using. So as long as you can search for the correct term to bind your control input to, you can duplicate your settings from MSFS 2020 quite easily into MSFS 2024. If you had deactivated all the help in FS24 and you still can't get rid of those blue ladders that show you where exactly to fly in career jobs, assign any keyboard key to Toggle Visual Assistances Display and use it!

Guys, since MSFS2024 arrived all of us are on a quest configuring our controllers to enjoy our favorite planes and helicopter, etc. I'm more particular binding keys and controllers for helicopters which giving me a hard time, the current preset settings make helicopter flying all over the place, maybe only for me but not some of us. If someone can share how to bind, is greatly appreciated, can't find any good online tutorials even in this forum focusing on Helis, I'm currently using TCA Thrustmaster and X52pro. cheers

When setting up trim buttons on my yoke in MSFS2024 I noticed there are separate options for Trim Wheel and Trim Yoke up/down, as wel as the existing Trim (nose up/down) options. Does anybody has an idea why there are separate settings for these which basically control the same variables?

Hmm, I'm rather sad this week, like everyone else, I've been looking forward to 2024 being released and getting stuck into exploring this exciting new sim. As we all know, it's been dogged with issues, some small, some not so small and some major! The next weeks and months will show exactly what Asobo are made of. Where can I get checklists? I use them not only to go through the procedures but to find where certain things are in aircraft I'm not familiar with.

I’ve just seen they’ve added even more to my library in 24. Problem is surely this will conflict? Because so far it’s added two versions of Munich, I’ve got Bijans seasons activated, 42s effects…the list goes on. That surely is all gonna clash with the sim???
