Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

Add-on Linker, linked add-ons seem not work well in FS2024. When I place the add-on folder (scenery/airport add-on) for example in 2024 community folder it seems to work fine in 2024, however when using Add-on Linker which places a symbolic link in community folder some add-ons seem not to work Just wondering if anyone else experienced it and what the cause might be ? I'm flying in Britain and what I notice is that the Metar is correct, however it seems the sim is only relying on data from METAR. For example if Metar says broken clouds, in the sim its only broken clouds and nothing else. When you look at a live webcam from real life, the weather looks totally different.

Hi, I am trying to configure my 2 Thrustmaster TCA Airbus Quadrant throttles in MSFS 2024 and I cannot find what Axis are assigned to throttle 3 & 4. I have throttle 1 & 2 using L axis X for 1 and L axis Y for 2. In the control setting when I move the throttle 3 or 4 they are recognized as button and not axis. Any help would be appreciated. First run in the Fenix, gate to gate. Went very well I thought. Amazing FPS, no crashes, stutters or hangs. All the wooshing around is not necessary. Let's take an already graphic-intense simulation and fire the user all over the place rapidly. Just ends up one giant lag. Just like 2020, I think you have to spend time with this one and lower yourself in slowly. Once you iron out all your inexplicable differences in the controls (eg view settings, mouselook, drone controls etc, Landing gear is not "G" etc etc) and fix all that it starts to feel really nice. As per the title, I'm either just not doing things right or this is a bit broken? I land, shut things off, only to not being able to fire engines back up. Tried the easy ways with ctrl-e and a few other things but no success. If it's just me, I'll do dome more reading and research. If it is the game, I merrily fly on to other planes for a bit. Is it ok to change flight_sim_beta_Sim Update 15 to "none" right now? I've heard it might lead to alteration to the base files. I have been having "steam cloud error/unable to sync" error. I have tried everything but no avail. Thank you

Hi Everybody, Anyone have any luck with Nvidia Experience filters and MS2020? All I get when I try and bring up the menu via (Atl+F3) is a flashing screen, makes it impossible to setup any filters. If you have it working can you tell me what drivers you're using? Thanks

I only saw one other post on the MS 2024 Official forums with no replies, does anyone else have elevation issues at default Las Vegas? I'm sitting on runway 01R and to the left and behind me the ground is sloped to extremes. If not, is there a setting that may be causing this?

Maybe it's only me, but for some reason I haven't figured out the MSFS controllers programming fully. It seems to do strange things if I reset a simple command, and then a lot of them stops working. I have tried to be patient. Alas...this platform in its current state is a mess. I will come back when things are better. If they ever do. I am really dissapointed in this release. Back to 2020.

Just bought FSDT KORD v2 and really disappointed to see that the gate numbers are wrong. M21 comes up as M16...why is this so wrong on an updated airport??

Hi guys, took the MSFS 2024 plunge and after some frustration decided to start with the basics to learn the new sim with controls etc. One of the first training flights wants you to keep attitude and pitch up down. I find my plane way too sensitive with the TCA Sidestick and Thrustmaster rudder pedals. After that trying to take-off, but the plane goes from left to right and it feels very sensitive. Played around with sensitivity settings as well, but no result (yet). Any tips?

I have been having a bit of fun in the FS2024 default Cessna Caravan exploring my backyard flying around the San Juan Islands. The detail in this region is definitely improved over FS2020. Also performance with the Caravan and flying around this region actually exceeds what I get on FS2020. Caravan flies really nice and level. No autopilot needed! Only issue I had is the Caravan has done something kind of weird and dangerous a few times now. I accidentally was able to go into reverse pitch in flight which I don't think the Caravan is certified to do. I loaded 2020 again this morning after being underwhelmed by the many 2024 issues. Simply tired of the loading time and the control setups in 2024. Lo and behold, MSFS 2020 is now taking as long to load as 2024. Almost twice as long as pre-2024 on my system. Tried several times with a rebooted system to hide any residual software in memory. Am I along or is Microsoft trying to cover up their poor execution of MSFS 2024?

Either I'm an word not allowed or i'm missing something. In simbrief dispatcher there's an option to 'import flight plan', and then it's imported into FS worldmap, departure and arrival are set for you. However, nothing is imported into the MS EFB flight planner, making it impossible to do 'send to avionics' to populate the Garmin flight plans. I have even tried to export the flight plan from Simbrief to .pln and load in MSFS, but then same thing. I need to have the flightplan in simbrief to use BATC. Any way around this?

Hi there, three issues Fuel: Flew from Lima, Peru to Quito, Ecuador. Had 7 tons of fuel on departure, and 7 on arrival. Yes, I have unlimited fuel turned off in MSFS settings, and default aircraft do consume fuel, at least in career. Autothrottle: Once I disconnected the AT, I wasnt able to turn it back on - i mean the light illuminated, AT mode was correct in PFD but it didnt do zip. ILS: Also, on approach to Quito I wasnt able to put the ILS freq in the FMS, neither by code or frequency. This, i'm afraid, might be a bigger problem, bc I was unable to tune ANY ILS/VOR also in Garmin equipped planes, like the VOR was never recognized in IFR training episod…

Does anyone know if there are any new camera views to download out there compatible with 2024 or if any of the ones made for 2020 can be moved into 2024 with the same keybinds? I had it set up in 2020 to where my numeric buttons would change views (0 for pilot view, etc) inside the cockpit and wings. I can't seem to get them to work in 2024. Any ideas?

I fly the Black Square Turbine Duke quite a bit but as some others have pointed out, the altitude readings and altitude alerter are really buggy. Does anyone know if these issues are being addressed by Black Square?

Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, sometimes it is found, other times it is lost... The sim consistently, but randomly, changes the InstalledPath line in UserConfg.opt to point at Microsoft's default location on Drive C. I use the inSim Library window to point at the correct location on Drive A and then OPEN that location and fine my addons as expected. The Sim leaves the path alone for a while, days or many sessions, and then suddenly InstalledPath is pointing at Drive C again.
