Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

Since I haven't been able to use MSFS 2024 I've been able to tinker with the new online flight planner. It seems pretty robust but has some definite quirks. For instance, if you use the option to create a flight plan or use Auto-Route it works fine. However, if you then select a sid or star weird stuff happens. I would expect it to delete part of the current plan and connect to the star, but it kept the route in and had me double back several hundred miles to pick up where the star began. This happened attempting to create a plan from EDDM to EDDF. Now, if you select the sid and star first it seems to work fine. What has been your experiences toying around…

Can't find a way to swap from Nav2 to Nav1 - in 2020 a press on the Nav tuning knob would swap the two radios (as it says on the instrument panel) but a press does not work in my 2024 (any G1000 equipped aircraft). When the pointer cursor touches the knob it changes to a hand which will allow me to spin the knob but not press it. And, the same problem with the Hdg button - I can change the heading but pressing the center of the know does not synch the heading instrument to the current heading. Both functions work well in 2020. I have a keyboard binding to do the Hdg synch which works OK in 2024 as it does in 2020. But, the radio swap binding does not work in …

My local airport (KGDJ) did a major expansion project 2 years ago that includes a new longer runway and a terminal building. The old runway was 3586 feet, and it didn't have any IAPs. The new runway is 5201 feet, and it has two published IAPs. I haven't installed 2024 yet, and I was just curious if the new runway, terminal building, and IAPs for KGDJ have been updated in the new sim. Could someone with 2024 do me a favor and go to KGDJ and let me know what it looks like in the new sim? Thanks.

I can't find specific reference to whether this works in MSFS2024 or not. I looked them up on the Compatibility List but they don't mention Las Vegas. Thanks

Using MSFS 2024 every time I try to change liveries for the 737-MAX to another in game livery I immediately get a CTD. Any ideas? Bob G.

Anyone else been able to successfully play back a flight using the Fenix A319,20,21 in the insim built flight recorder? Every single time I play it back for a pushback the engines are on and they end up going on to reverse thrust.

I am confused... What is it with FPS in MSFS2024. EHBK runway 03 with Fenix 320 stable 60FPS for a couple of days... And then suddenly a day later it is struggling to keep the FPS on 30. With every change of view the FPS collapse into a slide show. You never what kind of day it will be with MSFS2024...

Not sure how this is possible but it seems that once I got TrackIR working in MSFS 2024, it stopped working in MSFS 2020. Has anybody else had this issue? Very frustrating. I've tried everything. Just have the left had light on on the unit. Help!! Steve G

I finally got my C414 working right with the GTN750 but the unit is very dark. Everything functions normally but the screen of the GPS is very dark, barely readable. Going into utilities, there seems to be some options for backlighting, although I didn't find that made much difference. Does anyone have any other ideas?

Has anyone gotten XP Force working in MSFS 2024? If so, what folder do you direct the installation to in the sim? I did enjoy it although it was far from the effects present in P3d. The software addon, FS Force, by Russell Dirks, made force feedback using the Microsoft FF2 joystick extremely enjoyable to use. ps. I just bought another (backup) Microsoft FF2 joystick from Ebay yesterday. They are at a premium.

Is the Active Sky for MSFS worth getting or is the weather and clouds in the sim sufficient and accurate? What do you think?

I'm not sure if this is solved with Presets but this is what I'm trying to do. I'm using Addon Linker for both MSFS 2020 and 2024 and both sims share my Addon Community folder although this may not be relevant to the problem. I only load the aircraft and scenery I'm using for a particular flight but I always want to load fsltl-traffic-base. Is there a way to automatically launch it without having to specifically selecting it each time? Thanks ... Richard

Just purchased BATC for $59.99, installed program and on the Options AI panel marked as INOP. Any idea what might have happened?

Hello, been thinking about what could I use my iPad for, when it comes to MSFS2024. I am thinking in lines of something like: - FMS - Avionics like HDG, Spd, Autopilot, etc - Radios My hardware is VKB Gunfighter, a PFC yoke, a VKB TQ and a PFC TQ, but I have no hardware panels for FS. My VKB TQ has some additional dials and buttons, but that's about it. So, what can be done with an iPad on MSFS2024? (I also have FSUIPC pro from before, if neccessary). I am flying default aircraft as well as Fenix A320. Thanks

The official forums are very quite for now regarding the imminent (or not...) release of WU19 covering mainly Brazil (POI's plus 3 handcrafted airports, including SBRJ Santos Dumont). Will it be released today Dec. 3, as originally scheduled?.

First, have they been upgraded for FS2024, or are they still very basic and generic? Secondly, could someone post screenshots in the screenshot forum of Dallas, Atlanta, Charles DeGaulle Paris, and Madrid since they have never been covered? Thanks, Darryl

Hi all. Until yesterday, performance with 2024 wasnt great compared to 2020, but was possible to fly anyway. Now I've launched a flight in the 172, during take off I had my usual 30fps, but after a few minutes FPS dropped to around 10, plus lots of pauses/stutters. What happened? Felt like a slideshow! With a 14700K and a 7900XT looks quite ridicolous... With 2020 I can keep easily more than 30 with traffic and addons.

What is the purpose of the little squares with letters in the,m on many of the screens? I have tried different things but can't seem top figure out what they are for? Thanks.

Anyone else having an issue flying on dense clouds ? So i just completed a flight in the 777W from sydney to auckland Descending to nzaa between 280 to 210 i was getting fps drops and stutters. Then stopped and then at 9000ft. Then it was smooth sailing till i landed. Using autofps And passive mode Thought this issue would have been fixed. Which was mentioned on their forums about high cirrus clouds ? Mike

How do you delete MS2024 and then reinstall it? The program is not listed in my Control Panel/Programs and Features.

This is probably the most annoying "bug" / "feature" of MSFS, 2020 and now 2024 too. Whenever you use ALT-GR / Click on instrument for it to popup and allow you to better interact or better see what's going on there, your airplane controls loose focus, and any inputs you make go to "/dev/null" ... 😕 I hope they do something about it one day. It's ok if you're flying on AP and don't have to interact with it through your controls while the instruments are in popup or windowed mode, but a complete disaster for instance if you're manually flying a GA on a critical phase of flight.
