Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

Why do I have to login to Navigraph through the Garmin unit every session? Even when I'm using the same plane, I'm forced to login each time. Is this intentional or is there any issue on my end? My apologies if this has been asked. I searched through the boards to no avail.

So I subscribed to their Patreon for $2 and was able to d/l the complete 777 sound pack for the PMDG 777. Having trouble getting it installed. I can’t get it to work. I have the Steam version of MSFS. I have the 777 in the main community folder (C:/MSFS/Community), I’ve deleted out those lines in the json file as instructed in the pdf that comes with the soundpack and put the FTSim files in the main community folder listed above but I hear no sounds?? Someone have these working can help with what I am doing wrong?

For those not monitoring the Discord of WB-SIM C172, here are good news. You can use the WB-SIM C172 in MSFS2024 by enabling the C172 Classic (un-crypted) from you previous MSFS2020 Deluxe version, which disable the same C172 Classic (encrypted) from MSFS2024 and now activate from your Community folder the WB-SIM. Thought maybe this would work for Debug/Aircraft/Covers & Chocks/Toggle Off but, doesn't seem to be the case. Anyone see it different? Meaning you could toggle off all the preflight removal of covers and chocks, then save it in save settings and it would stay that way for future flights. Thanks

Just a thought but with many of the major world airports having already been created to a high standard by 3rd party developers for 2020 - and with many of these supposedly being prepared to 'port over' to 2024, are we likely to see a shift in the focus of 3rd party developers over the next few years - away from major world airports to focusing more on regional and niche airfields and airports? Took off in the ASOBO C-172 from KRNM (Ramona California) and flew at 8,000' along the spine of the San Diego mountains down to the Mexican border then west to Brown Field (KSDM). I then turned North and flew the ILS 28R approach to Montgomery Field (KMYF). Great scenery with TLOD and OLOD at 250. Using Frame Gen and MSFS2024_AutoFPS I saw a very consistent 50+ FPS from takeoff to the PENYY waypoint, which is at 3,500' on the ILS 28R approach. Then, very suddenly the FPS dropped to 6 to 8 (with frame gen). The CPU time per frame did not change nor did the GPU usage, which stayed around 85%. If you have developer mode enabled and have bad performance (no settings help to get better performance), then diesable "smart docking system". This repeatedly cuts my frames into half if enabled. However I do not need this anyway ...

Hi All, Anyone know how to get the flight plan to be all setup automatically like you could do in FS2020? For example, in FS2020, I would select my departure and approach, runway etc. Load up, and as soon as I take off, all I had to do was toggle auto pilot, and right click the altitude to set it to managed, then the plane followed the flight plan, as well as manage speed after setting throttle to CLB. That doesnt seem to work anymore in 2024. I am not one that wants to mess around with inputting stuff into the FMC, so the way 2020 worked was great for me. Anyone know if this is a setting, or is 2024 more like x-plane now where you have to enter all this stuff before…

On approach, when I turn off the AP, the AT stops to work - just goes to idle regardless of FCU speed setting. A320/321 does not have this problem

Had 3 back to back, which is unusual as the game has been reliable lately for me. Anyone else having these all of a sudden? I installed a freeware plane but then deleted it so it can't be that.

I have a new mod for the Diamond DA62, originally made for FS2020 but not yet published. I've managed to get it working (pretty well) in FS2024. The only glitch appears to be that it will only load ONE livery out of the many I made. Does anyone have any experience of a similar thing or indeed any info about why that should be. Oddly FS2024 is allowing only the use of the 2nd livery, not the first. I looked through each aircraft cfg fight.sim entry and except for the livery names and texture numbering the entries are identical.

I just happened to go into developer mode and noticed that under "packages" all of the streaming content seems to be coming from Akamai. Has anyone else noticed this? Quite curious it wouldn't coming from the much-hyped Azure cloud. Perhaps Azure infrastructure is not as robust as advertised or not structurally suitable for this kind of application? As one in the IT field I know many vendors use Akamai, particularly for file and update storage and downloads. But is it really the best vehicle for a streaming product such as MSFS2024? Perhaps others more knowledgeable than me understand the basis for this. BT

So I have missing cockpit textures on the CS777. This issue popped up after the update. Any ideas how I can fix this?

I have a few user created profiles for mouse, keyboard and joystick. I set them all to be default. The mouse and keyboard profiles remain default but the joystick profiler is reset to the generic one each and every time I restart MSFS 2024. So I have to select both joystick profiles every time. Quite annoying... Anyone else having similar problems? And perhaps a solution?

Wow Within one week of release I'm flying the Fenx A320 using all of my peripherals (Winwing FCU, Honeycomb, Saitek etc.) BATC with live traffic and A Pilots Life almost a near perfect experience. High Altitude, low altitude this sim just amazes me. No need need to upgrade my hardware, it runs better than FS2020 does. Approach's and finals are just breathtaking, the most immersive experience I've ever had in a flight sim bar none. Hats off to everyone involved in the project and to all the third party developers who make this hobby such a joy.

for some reason, even though I have my weather set to Live Weather I get a cloudless sky everywhere. Is there a setting I am missing somewhere?

My first post here, so I hope I get this right. My problem is that right after the last update, my home airport CYVR has become an unusable spikey mess. This is happening with empty community folder, just vanilla install. All other airports that I have tested are all OK. Just wondering if anyone else is seeing similar at cyvr or other airports.
