December 13, 20241 yr So I subscribed to their Patreon for $2 and was able to d/l the complete 777 sound pack for the PMDG 777. Having trouble getting it installed. I can’t get it to work. I have the Steam version of MSFS. I have the 777 in the main community folder (C:/MSFS/Community), I’ve deleted out those lines in the json file as instructed in the pdf that comes with the soundpack and put the FTSim files in the main community folder listed above but I hear no sounds?? Someone have these working can help with what I am doing wrong? Eric
December 13, 20241 yr I have it working for mine, but I have the store version. Keep in mind it's not updated for the 777F yet. Rick D http://g5flyer.tumblr.com/

I know you don't fly the 777 but you definitely know what a flight deck sounds like so really appreciate your input. 🙂 Interested to hear if you think it's worth swapping the sounds... I am using 5.1 with Dolby and have to say the flightdeck rattles with the 777 sound just like the full sized sim I used in Las Vegas... I don't know if it was a LVL-D sim so don't want to misspeak but it was a full size 757 sim. They also had a "private" 707 sim there for a Middle Eastern client that wasn't available to rent which I found VERY cool! Nothing like your own $30M sim LOL That was one of the things that really stood out though was all the rattles LOL. Edited December 13, 20241 yr by psolk Have a Wonderful Day -Paul Solk

One thought that comes to mind is back in the day my commander asked, can we just have one app on the EFB that does everything? I responded, one stop shop apps don't always do everything well compared to an app that is specific to one purpose. He didn't like that response, but we continued to have multiple apps for certain things. I feel the same about MSFS aircraft. PMDG put out some great aircraft and their sounds are pretty good. Then, you have some folks who just focus on the sounds and they do a great job. I've used FTSim for a while and I enjoy the sounds. He has managed to capture those cockpit sounds in his work and they are good. Most don't realize that there are a lot of creaks, vibrations and shaking noises heard, even when taxiing. The cabinet rattles, thumps of of the nose wheels and the variation/pitch of sounds made from the nose wheels while taking off or landing on the runway. PMDG did great with those noises. If you stayed with the PMDG sounds, you won't miss much, it's just a personal preference of the engine sounds that drive you one way or the other. Rick D http://g5flyer.tumblr.com/
