  1. I own all the options of the FF 777. Just finished a world tour (long winded non direct route) in the 200/300. Haven't had the patience to do that for over 5 years in any other sim /addon. The pros smash the cons into outer space. I've owned the PMDG triples in 3 other sims. I could never go back. From the moment you start rolling it FEELS right. Before I report any bugs need go through the fcom with a fine comb to make sure it's not intended behaviour. One issue I might have found is LOC intercept on ILS approaches. Sometimes the plane on 45 degree intercept will turn a full 360 degrees clockwise or anticlockwise before it intercepts. Very weird to me. Also switching from SPD /FLCH back to VNAV when below FMC profile the plane will descend below profile unless you level it off manually. I believe it is supposed to obey the altitude limits unless you override with MCP altitude intervention (knob press). There is so much to love about this addon whatever issues you may find will not for one second give you buyers remorce. You can feel the love the devs have for their product and this always influences my buying decisions.
  2. I just can't do MSFS 2024 anymore Actually I missed a sim off my list. FSX to 2020 to P3d.... Then over last xmas got really curious as to how 2024 ran on ps5. I figured at the very least I could do some virtual sight seeing with a controller. So I purchased it. Never got past the first couple of tutorial flights trying to set controller sensitivities and failing so that trainer just handled like an F15. Tried a 737 figured I could at least use ap the whole flight. Resigned myself to fact without keyboard and mouse I could only fly it if I spawned in the air and flew it like.... An F15.. Horrible experience, I'm sure it's way better on pc but deleted after 3 or 4 hours 'play time' and started researching if it was possible to make xplane look good on pc. When I found out the map enhancement mod pro allowed unrestricted high res imagery at all altitudes with xplane as opposed to the recently crippled low res msfs version I had to try it out. Fantastic sim tailered to the user not corporate 'visions'.
  3. I went from FSX to MSFS 2020 to P3dv5 to XP12. Spent ton of money on each for addons. At this point in time I can't see me ever using msfs again. I still have all 3 installed and running well. Well there's a caveat there. Xp and p3d are installed and running well. I never know when I fire up msfs IF I'm going to get the same experience I did on the last startup. P3d never changes, xp changes subtly but msfs can change wildly and be unusable for days after a mandatory update. I will use p3d again as it has some of my favorite legacy planes. PMDG's 747-8, RealAir props and A2A beauties being my favorite. At the moment XP12 looks fantastic to me with map enhancement and sim heaven. Combined with that gorgeous weather I do not NEED a better looking sim and the interface to actually get me flying is hands down my favorite. Currently using the FF 777 range in XP12 and it makes me want to uninstall my pmdg triples in other sims. Every morning I get up early to do a flight on my current world tour with them. Oops it's that time already later folks...
  4. OK gotcha now. I still like disconnecting both though personally as with ap off at on if I need adjust pitch up or down suddenly there is a few second delay before the at logic will catch up, whereas with full manual thrust I can adjust both at exactly the same time for smoothness and control.
  5. Where's the fun in that?! 😉😬🤔😀 In good visibility without strong gusts or crosswind I always land manually so I can practice the 'feel' of the plane. I only LAND 3 if its bad weather down to minimums and gusty. For the same reasons I don't click AP at 400 ft but usually hand fly the turns in the climb out. Some addons hand fly so poorly that it kills the immersion but this amazing addon just feels so right I can't get enough of it. I added the 300ER upgrade yesterday and that is just as good. Also... Practicing hand flying finals and sometimes approaches gives me confidence I'll be able to cope if /when : A) ATC clears/vectors me for a visual. B) There is a failure with the plane and I need to divert to the nearest airport without a precision approach. The autopilot itself could fail... C) Offset runways.... I'm thinking LOWI for example although you won't see a 777 there often! Those are realistic examples but it's also challenging and enjoyable in a GOOD addon to hand fly vfr touch and go circuits. I recall doing that with the PMDG 748 at Wellington NZ to familiarise myself with the plane, stability, energy management etc. Also every addon plane from single prop to heavy I've always flown a complete flight from runway to runway without using AP or AT once. VFR usually but hand flying the magenta is also challenging! I'd never ask an autopilot to do do something I couldn't do myself manually if I had to. Apart from doing things by the book I like to have fun with the sim!
  6. Overall I'm stunned with the detail. It's so accurate in so many areas I have to wonder if things don't go to plan if it's me or the simulation that's at fault! Intensely complicated to set up a flight out the box but once you've tweaked the setup and saved your preferences it's as quick and easy as any other addon. Some points of interest for me : Hands down most enjoyable tubeliner I've ever owned to hand fly during takeoff and landing. Fbw will trim closely to your pitch. I now look forward to disconnecting ap and at during final. Taxiing feels like a HEAVY. Will break free with idle thrust light loads, and with a little added power heavy loads. State saving is perfect. I can resume flights exactly as I left them. Sounds are awe inspiring. VNAV descents are comfortable but if you do not take full control of energy management below 15k feet you'll be too fast/too high /too soon! This seems to be what real world pilots report too. The speed brake is a normal flight control too! This plane has beaten by old favourite, the pmdg 747 v2 into first spot on my all time greats and I don't even LIKE the 777 for it's automation! 737ng/757/747 series my preference but this is so good I don't have any of those other planes in any sim as enjoyable as this. A must buy IMHO.
  7. That's interesting for sure. I have lots of detailed plane docs on there and I'm careful about sharing for that reason! Would be nice to have a dedicated web site full of sim docs, non profit of course, showing non copyright material for older planes mostly. It's the docs that are produced by 3rd party devs that include info from fcoms that are the main issue. Glad to be of help though I'll leave that 350 doc live for now!
  8. ..... Which PMDG refuse to revisit as its not fashionable /trendy /carrying passengers enough anymore. 😉 Heavy, noisy, uneconomical.... Magenta yes but one click to fly/hands off no! I don't own one yet for XP but the Rotate is on my PFD for sure. Does it have working terrain /weather radar displays? Sorry I could look that up myself but then I'd be another few clicks closer to buying it. It'll have to wait until I've finished my world tour with the FF772 though....

  10. If you're posting a large gallery of hi res screenshots then the policy is fine. But for quick fixes and how to do it tips it's a real barrier. I put all my images on IMGUR then some law /policy change means I can't even access them in the UK anymore (or anyone else). So I signed up for FLICKR and spent 30 mins trying to find a link to a actual image to share here. I failed. A shortcut with no preview was the best I could manage and who wants to click on a link like that these days? I get hosting costs and bandwidth concerns though.
  11. Without the correct winds enroute being entered into the FMC VNAV is always going to be guesswork during descent. The speed brake is your friend! Also take over FMC SPD mode earlier below FL180 if need be and slow the plane down that way. You DEFINITELY want to be 240kts max by 10000ft. VNAV is more likely to put you too high or too fast than vice versa. It's trying to economize on fuel :D
  12. Well. It was assigned to circle view and internally in all ac it did rotate around my head and outside the same then stopped internally and rotated around plane outside. When you configure 5 or 6 planes and assign all views with shortcut keys over several hours and use for a week or 2 the sudden change was obvious. Worst maybe not so good as least flexible? To be fair I'm not necessarily talking vanilla but with all available addons. The addons I've looked at are not intuitive (freeware to be fair) and I've been spoiled by chaseplane. Im am very computer literate and have had FSX/P3D/MSFS all setup for fast view switching and panning quickly. OK...MSFS down list too but I can assign any hardware control to any variable, but in xp I am only allowed certain variables for each control This is very limiting. Also using fsuipc in all other sims I can assign buttons to key strokes giving me more flexibiity. There is definitely an aversion to using plugins in xp. I get that. But it's nice to have the choice.
  13. Thanks for replies. I've stopped trying to fix anything instead reassigning hardware. Yes I read that too... But... I had circle view assigned to right analog hat and it DID rotate the view around pilots head, similar to hat up left etc. Then when I went outside it panned around fixed object in space, not the ac. Then one day after an update it started doing NOTHING internally and circle rotate around ac externally. Yes I'm very experienced with views in 4 different sims, especially chase plane and making videos for YouTube so I had to have a robust camera system. At the moment I'm flying the best sim I've ever used but currently worst camera system. I will work around this though. After 15 years using right hat it rotate I now use left hat (muscle memory ain't happy but I'm getting there) and the right hat just used for rotate quickly externally. The left hat rotates slow which is fine for precision internal but external is painful. I really miss the cycle assigned view option in chase plane where one button can cycle thru overhead /pedestal/eicas for example saving a lot of key strokes from my left hand. I'd might do some cut and pasting between ac control profiles for the memorise and recall key quick views as now all my ac have custom profiles I can't inherit them from the original master anymore.
  14. I've been reading...and researching camera modes in Xp12. I am wondering if XP12 circle camera is actually now (or since a beta) external ONLY? it definitely worked internal before but in a different way.   15. I thought that at first but mouse views and other camera views work fine internal. It's only the circle view and only internally. I'm trying to find the setting that made circle pan around scenery instead of ac as it was working fine when it had that behaviour . I've done the other operations you suggested but not those in last 2 paragraphs. I'll try those next thx!
  16. Tried external camera then move in cockpit. Which works but the camera is still circling around an external point (the tail). So that just gave me a thought: When the internal circle cam WAS working....when I switched to external it did NOT pivot around a central location looking in. It pivoted round a virtual pilots head looking around the scenery! This is a big clue. Maybe a beta changed the function this way stopping it working internally. I presume no one here is on beta and confirm the circle views work internally? I vaguely remember seeing a config option to change the view behavior this way. I may have implemented it - which worked fine of course until it did not.. I wonder if I can alter this behavior? Hmmm how do I get the external cam to pivot around and look at scenery again - like it did when it worked internally as well......
  17. Removed all plugins (including dlls i shouldn't have so put them back) and still same issue. Going to load ac with external door then walk inside see if it suddenly stops working. Presuming there's not an invisible wall! Yeh I've heard that too. I'm going to switch to the beta version again...just in case that triggers something after trying the above. I might also try xcamera (easy to drop in and see if it can access the circle function_. I used that at very start, found it fiddly and soon mastered the defaults. After removing everything worked perfect for a week.
  18. I'm running latest stable at moment, but it was probably copied over a beta by STEAM? Can I just clone the directory, remove the old one then install 2nd version there with different name obviously? I'm PC literate, stuff like TDS 750 that installs separate into w11 p-data will still be ok with both versions as long as that win.xpl file is still in whatever version Im using? Thanks man! The main command that doesn't work is the CIRCLE LEFT/RIGHT/UP/DOWN in sim. That's ALL I need fixing at this point. I can't find any other way to test the command as it seems only available to a hat stick. An analog one too not digital. I COULD try using my yoke on a test profile but...the input is being read by the sim and works fine external but not internal in any plane. That's the only problem I have! The circle view function wont work INTERNAL. The rest of the sim works fine now I might bite the bullet for now and just use the mouse. Don't want lose anything else! I get my sim is probably frankenfried now...so I'll try clone and install fresh stable first. The only reason I ever tried beta was I swear somewhere I read it was essential for the zibomod....but latest stable is 12.4 right from December late? So the beta is only since then not worth the hassle!
  19. Well...I only went to xplane after seeing the ME mod working well with SIM heaven. Both essential to me coming from true earth in p3d/msfs. Better pushback. Avitab. Terrain radar. None of these junk. Zibo mod 737. 2 payware add-on ac, or is that frowned upon as not vanilla enough. I was really looking for specific view issues help not a newbie lecture 🫡
  20. Hi I've been using first the stable then the beta versions. Everything fabulous. Configured Map enhancement pro/sim heaven and the sim to me is as pretty as MSFS was. So I'm all in. Except, after one beta update weird stuff is going on that makes the sim unflyable. What is the best way to install a fresh (STEAM) copy without having to painfully re-install all the addon sceneries? The planes are easy of course. I have the prefs/controls backed up. ERROR 1: Circle views stopped working in all ac internally. External is fine. The mappings page shoes the hardware joy/pan moving in all directions but wont work at all in sim even after recalibrate etc. I used to use my left hat for side to side and fwd backwd and the right for circle up down left right. This was PERFECT for me. Now this config can no longer be used. I can't switch left and right sticks as they only allow specific commands for left and right. The right works for look around but this is jerky and unusable. The left works for hat pan which is ok. I lose fwd/back/left/right functions completely then with hardware as the right hat wont allow these either. It's driving me nuts cant find a solution online! Can i turn a data output on screen for the right hat to see if its working IN SIM? Even if not doing anything with views? ERROR 2: This is the real show stopper. ALL addon tubeliners (737 Zibo/FF 757/LevelUp 73x) have incorrect FMS fuel sensor readings. Usually the FMS shows DOUBLE the actual FOB. This makes flight planning nigh impossible. The plane ACTS like it has the fuel WEIGHT on board but not the fuel itself. Meaning good luck taking off on a runway less than 10000 feet at less than 21kts! Also, once the idle descent bottoms out the planes configure power for ASSUMED weight but plane drops out of the sky into ground very quickly. Even if I grab controls and try TOGA I can't stop a CFIT. I can get a 'bearable' flight with the 560XL addon, except on final I'm flying a tugboat, but at least the fuel readouts are accurate as there is no FMS lol (GTN750 TDS). https://flic.kr/s/aHBqjCJEid Once again...circle views work FINE EXTERNAL but not INTERNAL. If I just backup my scenery folders, remove xp12, install again - will I have to do anything else or do I need to download all the DLC and addons again? It's so painful as the sim looks fantastic, I've got it looking absolutely perfect and running so smooth. But...it won't fly or let me view cockpit easily (I could live with that using mouse if I could solve the FMS fuel sim wrecking problem. Ideas? I'm about to go back to P3D. Which is installed and running but....I've seen the light now and don't want to go back.... EDIT: hmmm well going on the logic of once you write about an issue it disappears.....I forgot the LUAscripts counts as addon/plugin, so removed it. Also the King Air weigh balance. ONE of them being removed seems to have fixed the fuel option. Subject to me doing an actual flight. Now I just have the bizarre view issue. It would be brilliant if someone could say oh click this button and your circle views will work again..... The ROTATE VIEW keys work fine but I can not assign these commands to my joystick (TCA Boeing). Oh I miss FSUIPC! Once again...circle views work FINE EXTERNAL but not INTERNAL. So joystick is fine. What could cause them to stop working internal? The config page shows them moving the blue bars but no movement in sim in cockpit view....

  22. I've informed JF and TDS. How Laminar? Is that the xp. Org forums? So far today I've posted to 4 places, JF support, TDS forums, TDS Discord and also here. I'd love to get this solved. The TDS works in Beta. The Archer does too. The TDS works in other planes in the beta. What's the betting there's just one line of code in an ini file to change or one file to swap over? It's crashing during initialisation of the plane when TDS is being called or the routine that let's you pick the gps is checking what is available.
  23. I like your thinking but.....! 280GB finely tuned beta directory with scenery addons. So.....clone the whole directory to "Xp12b" then rollback steam version using original directory? Delete planes like Zibo that need the beta. In fact ALL of them except the Archer! When I was still working in IT I'd just build a separate box for the one plane but it's now a known bug apparently so maybe Larimar will issue a fix soon? Patient man here and other planes to fly!

Instant crash for me on selecting the plane. Just Flight say 'probably' beta issue suggest rollback to vanilla. Won't do that as very happy with sim as it stands with beta and plugins. TDS works great with the FlySim3D 560 in beta. Magical in fact...
  25. A2A Cherokee. Walk-around. Sporty looking but easy to handle. Basic simple autopilot ( heading/altitude - basic nav tracking too). Simple prop (just throttle/mixture). Can use basic dual nav radio setup or advanced GPS (gns or gtn available if you want). Can Land almost anywhere so lots of fun! I'd avoid the Piper Cub as it's so light it's very frustrating to land in any kind of winds. More like trying fly glider/balloon!
