Anyone figured out camera slide left/right command?

Featured Replies

Hello Gang!

Has anyone by any chance has been able to figure out what is the camera slide left/right command for cockpit view?  In MSFS2020 I had this command which gave me the ability to slide my view left or right while in the cockpit.  I can't find it in 2024.  Any help is appreciated.

Dennis

It's exactly the same as in 2020. Translate. It is also Translate for forward and backward. For up and down it is Increase and Decrease.

5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB  PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. Crystal Light VR.

Yeah it's under the weird name of "Translate Cockpit View" and then a direction

OK Thanks for the input guys.  I had found this command and assigned it to two of my joystick buttons but nothing happens.  Will try a different set of buttons and see what happens.

Thanks

Yeah, had that happen with some commands, they don't seem to work. However, might also be different issue, another one of these "Why is that even a thing" in this sea of 2024's awful control setup interface: Try clicking the little cogwheel next to the bind and disabling "Input repetition". That is default enabled and functions like a turbo command, just spamming the input as long as you press the button. That can sometimes cancel out some commands with some inputs.

Worth a shot at least.

Or you can opt for the new keyboard shortcuts:

SHIFT-W/S/A/D (fw/bk/left/right)  and SHIFT-Q/E (up/down)

Setting this up for a Xbox controller doesnt do it for me.(on PC) Maybe its because its showing both directions (up/down,left/right) icons when trying to bind.

Think it's because you are trying to use the sticks, which are axis inputs. The above-mentioned inputs are simply digital inputs, so you'd need to use the D-pads or another set of actual buttons.

If you are wanting to use the sticks (as I am) to slide left/right then try using 'Cockpit view X translation axis'  and 'Cockpit view Z translation axis' for forward/back.
