  1. I've been having a ball with the TOAG Hughes 500. About as close to a study level helicopter that you'll get.
  2. I'm enjoying the BLSQ C208 Amphibian in misty. I am trying to find a find good map of the seaplane bases in this area with no success. I am aware that a .kmz file can be imported into litttlenavmap, but doesnt seem to work for me. Any suggestions ?
  3. My amphib and supercargomaster were still showing 2020 avatars. Really ? avatars? I would rather fly the aircraft than look at avatars....
  4. I flew the H500c around Christchurch NZ and decided to give photogrammetry another try. The buildings looked melted and it looked terrible. Turned it off and it looked great. No photogrammetry for me.
  5. I'm thinking I need a better quality controller for use with helicopters. I've been looking at the VKB Gladiator premium which can be configured to not centre the grip. Is anyone using this set up for choppers , and thoughts thanks before I jump.....
  6. Check out some videos on YouTube by Matthew Crawford -let's fly ! It has helped me a lot to fine tune the sensitivities of my old Hotas X.
  7. I pulled out my old hotas X. Works good, but it took a bit to get the sensitivities right. I think you need a hotas type controller of some sort to fly a heli. It's so different from my honeycombed A and B.
  8. I've been a flightsimmer since this all started many years ago. I normally fly GA twins ( blacksquare, A2A etc ) and love the sim. Recently, I decided to have a change and bought the TAOG H500C. What a revelation. It's been a learning curve, but I think I've got a handle on it now. This helicopter has been a great challenge, but so worthwhile. This is not auto pilot flying, but hands on all the time, with short hops between landings. Flying in the south Island in Unzud with the NZA simulations airports and scenery, discovering all the huts and remote strips ,has really given me a new experience and be become so addictive. Low level flying is where ms2024 really excells, and helicopter flying takes advantage of all that. So, if you find yourself getting a bit bored, then try the Hughes 500. I just can't stop myself.... I'm even dreaming about it.. help me !
  9. I'm hearing you Ron. I think I'll do the same. Such a shame, this could be so much better. I love the Islander, but hopefully a better developer will give us a decent version one day.... The Nimbus for XP11 was great.
  10. It looks like the gtn750xi doesn't work in the 2024 version. Blackbox support is not good either... No replies. Bugger.... I really wanted the TDS in this.....
  11. I know this. But I still can't get the gtn750 xi to show up in the 2024 version. When I load the aircraft, the gtn says the pms is not loaded. Maybe I'll have activate the pms as well ? I have tried putting the patch in my community folder, tried overwriting the aircraft folder etc. still no joy. It works fine with the 2020 turbine islander.
  12. Does anyone know where I can download this latest patch? I've looked high and low and the only one available on the Blackbox site is 1.1.0 and it doesn't recognize my GTNXi....
  13. I engage it just before the FAF. You can do it earlier and it will couple earlier most times. That's on an RNAV approach.
  14. I used to get camels at Ayers Rock . They would just crash through the tall boundary fences when chased off the field !
