Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

Howdy, I remember back in the day with FSX & ActiveSky weather program ActiveSky would help plan your flight level according to the best winds aloft head wind, tail wind etc. Simbrief always seems to plan the route according to the max ceiling of the aircraft. Please correct me if I am wrong on simbrief. My question is there a flight planner out there that helps you find the optimum altitude according to headwinds/tailwinds. I am familiar with Windy, Skyvector etc for winds aloft. Thanks & Happy Landings,

Hi, I have an issue where the power all of the sudden is lost inflight using GA (Comanche etc) and airliners (Maddog) and noticed some strange behavior with my Saitek Pro flight Quadrant axis. When i calibrate them in MSFS after testing it out still using the controller menu , the axis starts not to respond to my inputs for all power management. The axis after calibrating just stays the same posistion when moving the levers. Therefor i suspect it has something to do with this unit. Anyone else having some sort of same issue with powerloss ? In the Maddog i lost engine one in air but manage to re engage it . Thanks Michael Moe

I realize these posts are a dime a dozen, but I'm at wits end and could use some insight. I just built a new PC with pretty much top of the line specs (see below). However, I am still seeing FPS in the 20s on the stock Ultra settings and I seem to be limited by Main Thread. I really anticipated these specs would handle Ultra with no issue. I'm not even running full HD. My current monitor is only 1680x1050. I also used Ryzen Master in Game Mode with little improvement. The CPU itself doesn't even seem to be working that hard. Hey guys, how do you sync the heading bug on the G1000 Nxi, and on the g3000 for that matter. Pushing the heading knob to sync the heading bug has no effect for me?

I was really looking forward to the new update because the Devs said in an interview that the 10 degree bug was definitely fixed and they were so happy to get it out of the way. Wellllllll... I just downloaded the update, went to my trusty CJ4 and... THE 10 DEGREE BUG IS STILL THERE!!! WTH???

Hello everyone, I have a short question regarding auto door simulation of the Fenix together with GSX. Sorry if this is a well known issue but I couldn't find anything about it: GSX is closing the PAX doors and removing the stairs automatically right after boarding is completed. There is no "waiting for your action" message etc. Is there an option to disable auto door sim in GSX (with Fenix)? It worked perfectly a few weeks ago...must have changed with the last GSX update but I'm not 100% sure. I've had the same problem in the past but can't remember how I actually fixed it. I do love A2A products and I've had several over the years. However, I would like to purchase the Commanche 250 and I've been watching various video reviews and other forum threads regarding this beautiful, carbureted airplane. HOWEVER, I do not want to fly this plane as a "study level" plane. My question is this: Can you just Ctrl E this plane and fly it? Are there any options or choices in the setup so that you can have the myriad of controls and switches appropriately set so that you can just enjoy the plane? I don't want to come off as lazy or unwilling to learn the intricacies of piloting this plane, but that's simply a question that I wish to ask.

Today I did two approaches, one into Santorini LGSR and the other into EGLL (Heathrow). On both approaches winds were at around 40kts below 1000ft. The winds around LGSR were forecast to be around 18kts and those at EGLL around 6kts. I'm using MSFS weather. Is there a bug here?

I bought the Just Flight Fokker F28 last week and its a pretty cool airplane but I have one odd issue with my setup. My setup is fairly simple older CH Flight Stick and I use the keyboard for some stuff. Basically just the default setup for keyboard commands. On the F28 for some reason my rudder won't recenter pressing the 5 key on the number pad on my keyboard. The 0 and ENTER key on the number pad move the rudder and the 5 key should center it but it does not. The F28 is the one and only aircraft that this happens on. Everything else is okay. I checked my keyboard maps this morning and the 5 key definitely should center the rudder but does not on the F28. Its a …

Not trying to sell anything in this thread (unless, of course, you are interested), but I was wondering if anybody could give me some pointers as to how to move some flightsim gear to a better home. Has anybody sold some gear that they no longer wanted? If so, how did you go about doing it? I know of the usual suspects, like eBay, etc. but would ideally not want to deal with them. I've just bought JustSim's LGSR and flew from EGLL. I must say, it's really poor. There are clearly navigation issues for the location of the airport as my properly executed RNAV approach landed me halfway down the runway. I could also see FSLTL AI also struggling and like me, landing halfway down the runway. The buildings are so out of date. The new terminal opened in early 2021, the same time the scenery was released. They should have done their homework and made sure it had the new layout. Any idea when 29Palms are releasing their version? I want to get rid of this ASAP.

Anyone else having this issue? Was doing a clean reinstall of MSFS and loading it up to finish all the content downloads and that window is greyed out. Wont even let me access content manager.

Are the any programs that allow for multiple windows? internal view and external view, etc. Like the good ol' days...........

Sometimes in the early days of FS2020, I asked if there was any way to remove the "glued" light gray sections or strips on the roads? I hear they are related to car traffic modeling. The gray lanes make the road look unrealistic, the closer you look, the worse it is. I don't need car traffic either, because that also eats up the smoothness of the sim, at least on my current computer.

I am using the PMDG 737 and loaded by mistake wrong flight via the Flight Plan REQUEST button in the FMC. How to I clear this mistaken route now in the FMC and load the correct one? After the initial loading I can't find the Flight Plan REQUEST menu anymore. Is there a way to clear the FMC and reload the correct flight plan?

Is there a way to keep navaids and waypoints present for default at the world map display without the need of open filters, etc ?

So I decided to opt of the next beta because I don’t want to really deal with the bugs etc. Upon opting out MSFS did a full reinstall. I say it went to the install screen but I figured it was just a quick up, I left the room and it reinstalled itself. I booted MSFS up and everything is gone. I use addon linker so all of my stuff is on the fake addon community folder. So what do I do now? How do I tell MSFS to look at my addon linker community folder? Also, seems like MSFS installed in its default location and I always had it on my m.2 drive, can I change the path or any I screwed? cheers

I am very surprised, and a little confused, how lower settings can look much better than I assumed! I had been using mostly Ultra settings and getting around 30-40fps depending on location. At times the FPS was dropping into the mid twenties. Also, my FPS graph in developer mode was red/yellow. I was getting big stutters at just the wrong times - on final approach for example. Sharpness is a big issure for me - I just can't enjoy the sim with distant hills/mountains/ground blurry. I didn't like the blurriness introduced with DLSS/Quality, so defaulted to using TAA. Can someone who bought MSFS 2020 at the Store and not Steam tell me what the last line of your user.cfg opt file (InstalledPackagesPath) should read. I changed mine at the advise of a support guy who's aircraft I had bought and can't remember what it was. A word of advice: DO NOT CHANGE IT! Thanks guys!
