  2. Good analysis recently by the helicopter expert himself (Sergio Costa) of various sims: https://www.helisimmer.com/articles/best-helicopter-simulator-2023 His synopsis on MSFS: "Microsoft Flight Simulator has a lot of very interesting and complex features. The scenery is impressive as is the overall graphics quality. The flight dynamics are quite good and the team has been improving it over time. There are quite a few things that still need work but Microsoft and Asobo – the team behind the development of the sim – have been very active, communicative and the sim saw over 35 updates already, between sim updates (that improve the core sim) and world updates, which cover…

  3. This was one of my most desired WUs, much appreciated MS and Asobo! I can only imagine how these areas will look in MSFS2024! I hope they will do countries like Greece, north-Macedonia, Montenegro and Serbia as well, in the future.

How does the latest AAU2 787 compare to Qualitywings 787 overall? I have been busy and haven't have much time to try out the new update yet and would like to hear your thoughts and opinion.

  5. Ironically I have no friends as I spend all my free time GA flying alone! Fortunately Gotfriends have released this Freeware to modify's the standard msfs co-pilot to the Doggo of your choice🐕. I literally wouldn't fly now without the dog by my side! https://www.got-friends.com/products/mans-best-friend Thanks to Alvega who recently made me aware of this mod... just as GF released a major upgrade! The only downside is MSFS2020 limits you to having a co-pilot wieghing a minimum of 45kg Dogs: Kilo (Mixed Breed) Arlo (Labador Retriever Puppy) Penny (Golden Retriever) Bear (Rottweiler) Muff…

  6. Hi all. I recently picked up the Lionheart Creations TB-21 GT as I fancied a decent IFR touring aircraft that can fly at altitude. However, when attempting to fly above 10,000ft it almost starts behaving like a normally aspirated engine rather than a turbo. Looking at the PIM, I was expecting around 24.7inches of manifold, with 2500rpm & 75% power at 13,000ft. Instead I was at FULL power, 2500rpm and it was barely scraping 20 inches of man-pressure. I uploaded a YT video demonstrating my findings: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kj2nyvg3Xwc (the video is still processing as I only just uploaded it) As far as I'm concerned I wasn't doing anything wrong. All t…

Hello, I don't know if I'm in the right forum or not, but anyway, I've just recently purchased Xmapsy Essential after first attempting to use Flight Events Client unsuccessfully to work in conjunction with OzRunways and FS2020. Xmapsy was recommended from Ozrunways' site to be able to us with FS2020. It appeared to be a much easier process of setting up than Flight Events Client, or at least I thought Tuns out that I must be the only one anywhere who can't get Xmapsy to work with Ozrunways, although there's very little info anywhere about Xmapsy, even from the developer themselves. I'm sunning FS2020 on a PC and Ozrunways on an Android tablet, both on the s…

Has anyone else flown around TFFJ and had MASSIVE terrain popping issues? Everywhere I look when taking off from there is terrible with huge elevation changes as objects get drawn and layers filled in. Is this normal with online graphics and photogrammetry on? 200 LOD and Ultra graphics settings.

  14. I'm getting a bit fed up uninstalling the Standard version of MFS, which I purchased at release time. After the latest AA2 progresses I felt really tempted to try the aircraft in the Deluxe or Premium Deluxe, but there's no acceptable upgrade policy 😕 Maybe I'll start a thread at the FlightSimulator Official Support forum asking for such an offer, at a differential price.

That update was primarily structural for changes we need in place for the Universal Flight Tablet testing program, and bore no major changes that you can see until we get the tablet out to you in the weeks ahead.Following up on that release, we have another update that is currently wrapping up it's test process, and that will include some small adjustments, a fe…

So... I have just loaded up WU14 and at random decided to load into one of the new handcrafted airports - LDRI Rijeka in Croatia. WOW! The quality of the airport is amazing, it just goes to highlight how amazing the sim is progressing. What really struck me is the faded taxiway lines and apron markings and the worn and faded runway white centerline markings as well as the unusual terminal and tower. The "free" included handcrafted airports back in 2020 always seemed to feature over-saturated red and yellow comic-like line markings - this is such an improvement. The terraforming seems spot on with gentle runway variations without the taxiway bumps and invisible…

Ive been practicing flying the Black Square Analog King Air for a couple of days now, but I still havent found how to switch between nav source Nav1 and Nav2. Ive been watching videos, but this doesnt seem to be very helpful. Why do people buy an analog cockpit to not fly the analog way and still choose the lazy way, using a GPS? Doesnt that defy the whole reason of having an analog cockpit? Sometimes I wish I wasnt autistic, just to understand what is going on in the neuro-typical world. 😉 Not sure its worth it, though. 😁 But anyway, can someone help me out and tell me how to switch between navigation sources Nav1 and Nav2?

  18. Just got an email from Just Flight announcing the release of a big update to their excellent BAe 146. Sadly this one doesn't include the UNS-1 FMC yet but the stand-out feature looks to be the addition of failures. Full changelog is here https://support.justflight.com/support/solutions/articles/17000124987-146-professional-msfs-changelog

Every 5 sim sessions or so, I get the never ending "Synching data" message on loading the sim. I've learnt just to kill the sim, reboot (restating MSFS never worked), and next time it always works okay. Had a very small MSFS update recently, hadn't read anything about it, but today on starting MSFS, I got the never ending synching data message, but also a message saying unable to go online to synch data, with an option to play offline, or try again. After 3 "Try again" presses, it loaded fine. So have they fixed it now? Was the reason for the problem always been because it hadn't been able to go online to synch the data?

  20. So a lot of people in the flight sim community look up to FlightDeck2Sim. He had this to say about the A2A Comanche, saying it's "one of if not the best GA aircraft I’ve flown in any sim": This is from his recent video on the Comanche. For FlightDeck2Sim to say this is one of the best, and possibly the best GA plane he has flown in any flight simulator, well done A2A, well done.

Hello all, I flew a good flight on Monday and shut down normally. On Wednesday I opened MSFS and was given a mandatory update (approx 300GB) which I downloaded and installed, after renaming my contents folder. Since then I have been totally unable to load MSFS. It gets to about 75% and locks up with the only way to get out of the programme is to un-task it.(Ctl/Alt/Del) Sounds familiar you say. Yep. However, I have not used the google replacement for about 12 months. I did, however, go the windows/system32/drivers/etc/hosts to check and there is absolutely no 127 .0.0 item there other than a blank example. I deleted that but it reloads automatically…

Just curious if what I see is a limitation of my new HDR400 capable monitor or the the way the sim itself handles HDR since I noticed at times it seems overly bright even without HDR. I loaded up a flight in an area with scattered clouds somewhere between 11am-1pm. The directly that the sun came from the clouds were super blown out. Just wondering if this is the HDR400 monitor not being capable of going past about 450nits and it's just clipping everything or does it have the same effect on a true HDR display like if I had connected it to my LG OLED TV? Outside of that and like for instance the text on the TBM's throttle quadrant (white lines around the red "override" …

Have some friends coming over today that are totally not into simming and asked me to show them something cool. Thinking Alaska. Any quick tips for an airstrip close to Denali, then do a few turns around the park and land somewhere cool by the river, surrounded by the mountains? Never did any bush flying, so I’m clueless in the region.

  25. I use the ASWD and other keys to walk with the drone cam, F5/F6 to speed up/slow down etc. What I find annoying is that I need to adjust height (F and R keys) constantly when moving around. When my height is 0 it will automatically follow the changing ground level (for instance when climbing a mountain) So, simple question: is there a way to set my height fixed relative to the ground at 1.78 m (the way i see the world IRL)
