Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

Decided to do a quick flight on a Friday. Had to decide between it being an X-Plane 12 event or a MSFS 2024 event. So nice to have 2 choices. Picked MSFS 2024 and it was an instant regret. Major frustration. MSFS 2024 updated pretty quickly to SU2 in minutes. Looking good! I decided to do the Brisbane precision landing challenge in the A320 Neo. Major mistake. 40 minutes later I finally get the bird in the air. Won't bore you with the details. The Brisbane Landing Challenge has been broken for months. I'm looking for a kind soul to help me enable framerate multiplier in SU2. It's grayed out, despite having a 4090 - or is this not available for 40 series cards? I did install the 576.40 driver. Thanks in advance, Pete

Since the beginning of time I have been a paying customer to PMDG. I don't get free stuff from them. I have purchased everything they make and feel it is such an incredible value. Now they are extrememly sucessful and have paid salaried employees rightfully so. You need a team like they have to produce what they do. Pretty much perfection each and every time! You disagree? After pulling out of the 2024 Beta, my community folder got wiped again.......i swear...so... incredibly...... frustrating. Without addons linker, i'd probably have just tossed my PC into a river. This program, so simple, yet so powerful. I honestly think it is THE single best program for MSFS. I tried to donate to the creator, but there's no donation link - he really deserves it...Seriously, ASOBO needs to get their stuff together...this is insanity.

I have never used vertical navigation in a non jet aircraft which has an FMC but knew how to use it in the B738 with the FMC. I have set altitudes at various waypoints and set then to be 'at'. I set the altitude to a value less than the next waypoint and then 'pressed' the VNAV 'button' on the auto pilot panel. Firstly nothing changes in the display window in the auto pilot panel and I assumed that it would. Have I not set up correctly for VNAV to work? Even when I arrive at TOD nothing happens. I cannot find a video tutorial. Can someone help me with the correct procedure in using VNAV in the Cessna 414? Thanks.

With SU 2 at the bottom of the description window you could choose to go to the response curve and adjust it. I do not see it there . Anyone knows where it has gone ? - - - Edit : found it If it is called Tweak action curve. You acces it by the small wheel

A friend has a new PC and wants to preserve his existing MS2020 key and button assignments when he installs FS2020 on the new PC. My understanding is control bindings are backed up automatically in the cloud, so will the new install on the new PC preserve his existing controller bindings, or will be have to start from scratch in setting up MS2020 on the new PC? One possible work around I thought of is the wgs file in FS2020 stores the controller bindings (I think). So if necessary, maybe copying the wgs file from the old install to the new one might work. Has anyone tried something like that? Al

Since I can't log into support for FSHUD, I thought I would try my luck here. FSHUD works fine for me with one exception. When I try to enter a flight plan by using copy and paste I run into a snag. I select the flight plan I want to copy and paste, but when I try to paste it into FSHUD I can't right click on my mouse and have pasted into the correct field. Right clicking does nothing. No problems importing flight plans from Simbrief however. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance. Bob G.

Hello, I hope you can help me. The RPM control pitch won't move, it stays at maximum (It moves a little when it's at its maximum, it seems like something is pushing). If I try to move it with my Turtle Beach yoke, it snaps back into place (max). I have all the assists turned off. I don't have FSUIPC. I've reset all the controls to default, disconnected all peripherals, and it's still the same. Today i reinstalled MSFS and still the problem. Any ideas? Thanks you so much.

It appears this turbocharged aircraft is not equipped with a cylinder head temperature gage. Is this unusual for a turbo?

Just went back to Discord and says I still don't have permission to post messages so will ask here. In the upper instrument panel area, where MACH TRK LAT ALT display, it's just so dim and haven't found any brightness controls for the characters displayed there. Also, the big Fenix splash screens with the login for this plane and some other document that appears during flight launch in 2024. Any way to make that go away? Thanks

Reinstalled the Black Square Duke Turbine. Now for some reason the Bendix Radar doesn't power up. Checked all the fuses, so it's not that. Reinstall plane 2 or 3 times and still no radar. I don't have that much hair to pull out anymore. Hope you fellow airman can help me with this. Have the GTN750 working ok, just no Bendix Radar. Thanks Walt

My logbook is getting pretty large. Is there a way to clear it, or to stop recording flights (not really interested in such a log)

With su2 out I decided Id give 2024 a try and see if it was ready to be my main sim. One of the first things I noticed is the shadows dont seem as dark as in 2020, for example in the pmdg 777 the shadows inside of the engine cowlings look very bright compared to the dark shadows I had in 2024. Is this normal or is there a setting somewhere to increase the range of the lighting. It looks a bit washed out compared to 2020.

Hello, It seems like ORBX ESSA has 19R exit taxiway links broken (BATC airport map clearly shows this issue) that resulted in arriving traffic tends to disappear after landing. This issue could have been easily fixed back in P3D days, but not anymore, since editing 3rd party airport facilities in MSFS is more complex and not straight-forward. Is there any way to override such deficiencies in BATC? TIA.

I expect an argument because I am flexible and realize that other folks may have an alternate opinion. And to say that MSFS2024 is at least 50% depending on specialized infrastructure. No other sim can say that, and it makes you think. dd

Is it possible for the end user to program 3D yoke movements in sync with autopilot inputs (e.g. HDG, NAV)? I assume it's something that is accomplished during the developer design phase but just wanted to confirm.
