Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

Everyone can agree on one thing. The 2024 GUI screens are the Worst designs Ever. It's one thing to have Bad or Incompetent designers, but another thing for them to get Approved and they are found in the final product! What should happen is, the Community should be allowed to design new GUI screen replacements that are streamlined, simple and easy to use. Then there would be a Community poll to decide the best one, for a future release update.

Good Morning fellow colleagues, On MSFS2020 for some strange reason the prefered pressure altitute even set as european metric system on options for atc menu to QNH it still reads as the USA inches of mercury, for example "QNH 29.92" rather than the correct terminology QNH 1013, Also is there anyway FSTL can read out the whole airline atc call sign as the chinese registered airline only use their country of registration rather than their given call sign? So back in December, they decrypted the default planes in the Standard Version of MSFS 2024 (but I believe Deluxe and Premium Deluxe planes remain encrypted). I moved to latest nvidia driver which requires DX12.. now, the 777 internal lights do not illuminate cabin and cargo area.. its a show stopper for me as i fly exclusively night ops.. when i was in dx11, i used to clear shader cache as a workaround.. I have done nearly 10 flights in the 77F few months ago and the lights used to work really well as long as i cleared shader cache.. but this no longer works in dx12 or dx11 with their latest build from OC3. so i switched back to older driver 566.14 and moved to dx11.. but with latest 777 build, none of the internal lights work, except for the VC.. i have the cargo and the 300er.. same issue in both.. Yes, the irritating and unnecessary compass at top left and readouts such as airspeed, fuel, flaps and trim that are superimposed along the bottom of the MS2024 flight screen. If I want those I will look at my instruments, thank you. There must be a way to get rid of this anti-immersive stuff?

I'm wondering if any of you that have had your assistance settings, controller profiles, or community folders wiped launch directly from Steam or the Xbox app. ChatGPT helped me create a .exe to clear shaders, rolling cache, start the brunner software, and head tracking before starting the sim. It worked wonderfully, BUT this was the first time my assistance settings and controller profiles got reset/wiped. Normally, I launch from the default created shortcut or directly from the xbox app. Now obviously I had no idea what I was doing when making that .exe, but chatGPT was helpful in setting it up. I have a Zotac 4070Ti Super GPU and have not tired to overclock it. I now see the Nvidia App has an auto tune 'feature' which will supposedly optimizes the overclocking of your GPU. Has anyone tried this? If so, thoughts? Did it work well? If desired, can you reverse the auto tune result and go back to a non-overclock condition? Thanks, Al

Thought this was interesting, given all the excitement about being able to install stuff, now. Some questions regarding the posters PC specs, though. We'll see.

First let me say, prior to SU2 MSFS2024 was working great for me. The sim was smooth, looked good and I hadn't run into any issues and no freezes or CTD's. Post SU2 my controller interface is delayed anytime I want to make control adjustments. Planes keep loosing there programed controllers. Settings keep getting reset every few boots, especially Assistance. And I'm seeing occasional freezes and CTD when clicking on the camera icon. I know why but I wish we had an option to not update until were ready to do so for this very reason. I'm seeing from post that SU3 seems to be addressing some of these issue. When setting-up all my controls, I cleared all the assignments for the mouse both for General and Aircraft controls. When I am on the screen with the "Enter Aircraft", I don't see the mouse cursor so that I can place it on this button to enter the A/C, and I have tried multiple sceneries/airports. What option/setting am I missing ? Prior to this screen, I can navigate fine in the SIM. Thanks for your help.

I'm being driven to distraction by an issue that has only manifested itself in the past couple of days. It coincides with me joining Beta 3 but it might not be linked, just a coincidence. I have a Galaxy G9 OLED monitor and normally have both HDR and Auto HDR enabled in Windows. This works fine with Steam games like Snowrunner. Enabling HDR in MSFS2024 results in a very washed out picture so I leave HDR off in the sim. However the weirdest thing is now happening, when I click the side buttons on my mouse (which control the volume level) my OLED screen brightens noticeably for about 3 seconds before returning to normal. When I attempt to update a sensitivity setting for a controller, I get a weird a message box asking me if I want to create a duplicate profile, which has nothing to do with what I am doing. Is this a known problem that's being fixed ? Any advice on how to deal with this phenomenon ? Also, there are no units specified so I am assuming a sensitivity of 0.02 is the equivalent of the 2% in MSFS 2020 ? Please let me know. Thanks

Having a strange issue with the frame multiplier in the settings. If I change the frame multiplier to X3 or X4 then exit/save and resume the game, there seems to be no noticeable difference in frame rate. When I then go back to settings the frame multiplier is back to X2! Anyone else have/notice this issue or knows of a solution? Edit: Should note this is with a 5090 GPU.

I built a new computer featuring an Ryzen 9800X3D, Radeon 9070XT, 64 gigs of ram. Running on a 48" TV at 4K 3840x2160. Using MSFS_AutoFPS and after SU2 getting very good results, smooth flight, no stutters, even on short final. Frames are unlocked and FS3 enabled. My settings are not maxed out, I backed away from that and honestly don't notice much difference with preference on smoother flight. My settings if anyone is interested are here. Yesterday after updating to the latest SU3 beta flighting and getting a CTD, the first I got since using SU3, I was surprised with the default AI having correct liveries, Easy, Ryan, Iberia, .... I did install FSLTL to use with BATC, but I was not using BATC, had enabled default ATC and AI Traffic again, and was flying from GMMX to LPPT. As I spawned at the gate in GMMX I looked around and the AI liveries instead of being AIRBUS and white were actual RL liveries !!! Is this new to SU3 ?

Hello, My Horizoin 339 default starting cockpit camera is outside the plane. When I do Ctrl+1 , 2, .. etc it works. I tried moving manually to the place I would like and doing Ctrl+F10, pressing the F, pressing Space, Ctrl+ Space... nothing works, I cannot get back inside the plane. Is there a way to reset all cameras to default? Thanks!

Note no question just that 2024 is better than you think. My best feature is that my 5900x cruises along at 30% unlike 10% in my previous sim. All the while my 3060ti is doing the job @ 70% VRAM. dd

Anyone else getting the endless installing circle after downloading scenery ? No way it takes 20 mins to install 900 meg.. Have to Ctrl-Alt-Del to close msfs2024 as doesn't respond... Grrrr
