Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

Now after SU2 release have they fixed what was broken ? Or to put it in another way. If doing flights in MSFS2024 will I not encounter more problems than doing the same flight in MSFS2020 ? I am thinking about VR which I use ? Also I don't expect a perfect Sim but refer to more serious problems

I was excited to get SU2 for MSFS2024 but now my Game Control menu is extremely slow. I'll sit there for 10+ sec to cycle through control options to set up a new aircraft. This seems to be a known issues during the beta. This is a step backwards and a PITA 😠. Anyone else having this issue? Is there a work around? I wish they would allow us to stay on the current version until were ready to update so we decided if it's worth the update.

I have the winwin pfp-3 and was wondering if anyone has tried the Max 737 with it? It seems to work but the EXEC key does not illuminate for instance when adding a star/sid or direct to. It does illuminate in 2020 and the pmdg 737.

I’ve been watching the rollout of MSFS2024 from the sidelines over the past 6 months while I’ve been happily flying my stable and optimised 2020 install. I was waiting for a few add-ons to be ready before diving in (Rex Atmos, PMDG 777 etc). I would like to be able to use external programs that start with MSFS2024. Unfortunately, I get this message 😞. I can indicate the path to FlightSimulator2024.exe (MSStore version, the path is XboxGames\Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024\Content and it is not drive C) but I can't connect anything to this exe file. Hi, I just ran the AIG and it told me to do a mandate update by renaming my "OCI BETA" folder to just "OCI" In the end i created a folder within the folder and copied all content to this next level. Is this somehow a pre-setup for a MSFS2024 install ? Thanks Michael Moe

I'm confused about this My Library thing. I was under the impression everything was stored in the cloud now when I go in my Library I have the option to download items. By downloading does this put the said item on my computer. Do I really need to download these items or are they in the cloud? Thanks guys for any help!

In my case the jump into SU3 was absolutely flawless and, I'd say, POSITIVE! I only switched on my sim PC this last Saturday after more than one week away from it. Applied a win11 update, then fetched the latest Nvidia Geeforce WHQL driver and rebooted to install the GPU drivers and then start FS 2024 which, last time I had used it, was in one of the last SU2 beta releases... Before starting FS 2024 I didn't empty the Community folder from any of my addons, including the Fenix A320 and the Inibuilds A350. I’ve posted this on their discord but thought I’d see what the community here thought. I’ve just flown the 777 into JFK and landing on 31R had a couple of nasty bumps on the rwy. I don’t fly with PG on but I’ve seen forum posts suggesting that doesn’t make a difference. Also, when taxiing over the bridges the textures of the bridges and the terrain around them are really poor and resemble something from FSX days (or worse). I’ve checked inimanager and it’s installed correctly and all I’ve done in the settings is turn a couple of the clutter bits off like static aircraft. Thanks.

I believe I may have shot myself in the foot by saying yes to ChasePlane's prompt to remove all camera settings (so as to save me from doing it manually for all planes). Long and short is every key assigned to any camera action including how to move the camera in the VC are gone including how to move the camera in the cockpit, mouse panning, all gone now. And it appears this change was backed up into the MSFS cloud. I had thought I could import my settings from the ChasePlane cloud as I had it up and running prior to having a complete reinstall of the OS. But after installing CP into the new OS and 2020 install my previously configured cameras don't work and I see no…

I just download msfs 2024 SU2. I am a new user of this version. I can not see how to remove AI traffic parked at the airport gates. I have seen some instructions posted, but I suspect they they are for a early version then SU2. Can someone please tell me how to do this on SU2. Thanks, Jim w6hxw

When I go to the livery identification, I can't delete the callsign and rego. I click on the box, and it highlights , but there is no way to change or delete the current one and put in a new one? Any ideas ?

I've spent a good deal of time over the last few weeks tweaking my keyboard and controller files and now I'm looking at reinstalling MSFS2024. Is there a way to export them to a file and then import them after reinstalling?

I'am having a real problem with my CH Eclips yoke. About 3 or 4 weeks ago I started the sim and all of the sudden my yoke went straight to the right when I got in the airplane. then jumped all over the place when I moved it So went into control setting to check settings seemed to be working fine. Calibration was working fine. I've been flight simming over 25 yrs and usually can figure it out ( Avism has helped alot) this one has got me, don't know what to try. So FSLTL works. You have to manually drop the FSLTL folder into the 2024 community folder. Just copy/paste from the msfs 2020 community folder. Testing in EDDF as we speak. Since in Asobo's infinite wisdom, we no longer have granular control of a traffic slider, or a ground aircraft on off toggle, you are still going to get default 2024 traffic as well. I surmise there will be a workaround for this at some point. Maybe finding and renaming the relevant simobjects folder that contains the default birds to stop them from loading. Also there is a mild to moderate performance hit. YMMV.

So the MSFS team finally implemented the downloadable feature in MSFS 2024. Before, all the default planes, sceneries, and World Updates, in the Content Manager could only be streamed. As of the SU 3 Beta, default planes, sceneries, and World Updates can be streamed or downloaded. It's purely up to the user whether they want to stream or download it. This option to stream or download is something that even MSFS 2020 doesn't have, so it's a very nice feature to have in MSFS 2024. So if you decide to stream everything, and download nothing from Content Manager (just as it is right now for SU 2), MSFS 2024 should take up about 30 GB of space on your hard drive. Now …
