Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

I always loved flying the Zero in msfs ever since A2A released one for fs2000 or was it fs2002. It also flew well in the later FSX. Lands and takes off almost as easy as a Cessna, just like in real life. Zooms through canyons doing stunts way down low without a worry because it handles so easily. This was a big reason the Japanese naval pilots in the '40s (IJN) loved them. This was not an "Ensign Eliminator" like the difficult to master Corsair. CRJ V2 and FSipanel for CRJ V2 no Pause. No Pause before holding brakes for 3 seconds to get control. CRJ just keeps flying. Message to set the brakes still on the screen. Edit: I use MSFS2020

I have a couple of questions regarding MSFS 2024 options...and I am assuming what I am asking are options indeed and not features that cannot be changed. When the A/C is about to enter the runway and before I select "Ready to Fly", I am hearing announcement about clearance to enter the runway and these continue after being on the runway. I don't want MSFS 2024 ATC to be active and I thought it was off but apparently it is not. I also unchecked the "Communication" setting in the settings menu accessible in the cockpit. Hey Flyers I found a problem in MSFS2024 and I try to find the culprit and a solution. It's reproducable for me, in this case I just used the fenix A320. In short, loading a flight from a fresh MSFS2024 SU2 start up I get 39-40 FPS, if I go out to the main menu and reload the flight I get 35-36 FPS. Native FPS Tlod and Olod 200 Flightbeam KSFO I know it's not the world, but still you loose 10% just by going back to the menu after first start. Sorry, for the small FPS Counter, need to watch in 4K and Fullscreen. McDan out

Just completed my first MSFS2024 flight in the PMDG 777 OMDB-EGLL. Overall I enjoyed it...definitely smoother than 2020. One thing that I noticed was cockpit sounds (button clicks, door closing, chimes, callouts etc) sometimes didn't sound even though the button was clicked. On approach I only got a "30" call out despite all of the landing altitude call outs being selected in the PMDG menu. It was very sporadic; sometimes they'd be there, other times not.

In the FSX days I loved most the bush 'flight zones', that is a bundle of nice little sceneries (about 5 to 9 airfields/strips) with consistent design/graphic style, within reasonable distance, for a good price. Examples are: Fly Tampa Grenadines, OrbX Pago Pago, Tongass Fjords X (discontinued). For FS2024 I'm currently tempted by Hells Canyon by Backwood Studios. Are you aware of other flight zones natively available for FS2024 or in the making?

The PMDG 737-700 is extremely sensitive to the sudden wind direction changes that are overdone in FS2020 (2024 also?). On approach it frequently starts swerving left and right and can't hold the ILS. This doesn't happen to me in other planes such as ATR or CRJ. Anyone else have this problem? Is there a fix for the sudden wind direction changes in 2020? Thanks

Until recently (not sure exactly when), I could go into settings to the control settings, and I could select whether I wanted to see All Settings, Assigned Settings, etc., using the Filters button at the bottom of the screen. When I open up a control bindings screen all I see is categories, and what used to be the Filters button, is now a More Info button. I realize I can open each category and get to the bindings, but I want to be able to list, for example, all assigned bindings, in one display, like before. What do I have set wrong? Surely you can still select how you want the bindings displayed. Is the Filters button really gone? I am on MSFS2024 on…

Hi, I have a huge interest in computer graphics & color science and I have developed Enhanced Cloudscapes and Enhanced Skyscapes for X-Plane. Most modern flight simulators including MSFS, DCS and X-Plane 12 started to use physically based sky implementations and there has been something about them that was really annoying - overly purple sunsets / sunrises. I am trying to get used to 2024 so that I can switch from 2020 at some point, and I'm currently setting up things like cameras, texture options and my controls. I found the glitches by chance when switching quickly between FREE CAM and RESUME a number of times. At first I though it was a problem with my graphics card, but the artifacts don't happen all the time, and only with certain scenery addons, so I'm not sure. So far after a fair bit of testing with a few 3rd party airports I have only experienced the glitches with IniBuild's JFK and LAX, but plan to test their LHR when I get a bit more time. Hello fellow simmers. I´ve recently acquired and installed MSFS 2024 on the same drive as MSFS 2020 and after that i´ve noticed that the Parallel 42 Essential stoped working in MSFS 2020. I´´ve tried to uninstall and reinstall in from Marketplace and I can see the Icon in the bar in 2020 but nothing happens when I click on it. It worked fine before I installed MSFS 2024 and It seems really strange if those two envets has anything to do with eachother, but I´ve have not made any installments in MSFS 2020 since I last used Flow Essential. Thought ?

Hi, according to this post in the official MSFS forums, it appears that we can override the CFG files and override other files in MSFS 2024, by mimicking the folder structure of the plane we want to override in the Community folder, according to this post: https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/su3-beta-finally-able-to-download-default-aircraft-airports-and-scenery/721198/308 One of the issues with using the VFS system to view the CFG file was that it was uncertain whether you could override the CFG values and get MSFS 2024 to accept the new CFG values. Has anyone encountered this using Beyond ATC? I've sent in a support request, but I haven't heard back yet. I'm hoping someone here might know what causes this and how to fix it? I ask because I am thinking of getting the honeycomb alfa. I like to fly GA planes so a yoke makes sense most of the time. For those who own a yoke that is NOT the thrustmaster, do you use it when you fly airlines. I ask because it would seem to me a joystick would simulate the pendulum sensation much better then a yoke. But I have no idea if this is true or not

One of my favorite activities are the precision landing challenges on MSFS 2024. You can complete an activity in 7 minutes or less. Great if you have no time. Yet no one talks about MSFS 2024 landing challenges. The Airbus landing challenges are totally wild. You are about 10 NM from the airport, you are too high, both engines are flamed out and you are about to go into a flat stall. I just did one and it started me off at doing only 40 knots, falling out of the air. Lots to do in 5 minutes. Anyway, my question. Why do simmers not like these challenges? They don't seem to be popular at all. I am addicted to them.

I can't get the navigraph files shown below to appear as shortcuts in my Community folder for some reason. The pic on the left is from the Addons Linker, and the pic on the right from my Community folder. I have tried deleting the navigraph folders from the Community folder and then selecting the files (folders) in Addon Linker and saving the associated Preset, but after updating Addons Linker the files (folders) are no longer selected or green in color and I always end up as shown below. I assume these navigraph entries in Addons Linker are gray to indicate something has not worked as usual. I have other navigraph files in Addons Linker that work as expected in that the …

Some MSFS 2024 users are not a fan of streaming and would like the option for a local install. Careful what you wish for. MSFS 2024 is making this an option. Luckily you have a choice as a local install will take 400 GB!

I know this matter had been previously discussed but I'm still not sure I have all the details correct. I like the idea of real time data injection over canned timetables so I prefer FSLTL as the injecting software. I am also aware that in terms of models/variants FSLTL is more limited in comparison to AIG. If I understand correctly, FSLTL can fall back on AIG models when its missing one of its own. Question is, however, how much extra traffic will downloading AIG models bring to FSLTL. Would love to get impressions from anyone who may be using such a combo
