Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

This started out of the blue after working fine for years. I click Quit to Desktop and the program minimizes to the task bar, but remains there and MSFS is using like 30% of CPU. I have to go to Task Manager to kill MSFS. On the Task Manager it says "Not responding" in red. I read about this on the MSFS forum where several reported the problem in 2024 but there was no mention of its resolution. Anyone else having this problem or know how to resolve it?

I see NVIDIA App is now on version 11.0.4. What is the consensus on it? I used to use NVClean Install but with the latest GPU drivers, it’s no longer working correctly anymore and if you use it to install the latest drivers manually, you lose the NCP that used to come with the drivers. Curious what most are now using? I’m thinking I will need to go with it at some point.

Hi Lately using GSX Pro (MSFS2020) with the 737-800 the doors no longer opens automatically when requesting boarding (or deboarding) And there where problems opening the doors from the EFB manually as well, had to click several times and wait. Only me or? GSX or PMDG? Mats

So I had my first WASM today on a short flight LFPO-LIML with the iniBuilds A350. As I understand, in order to re-initialize, I have to delete all files in this folder: C:\Users\XXX\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024\WASM\MSFS2024\inibuilds-aircraft-a350 Is that correct?

Hey guys, I need to do some flights with the default 787 for my APL2 career.. I have the TCA throttle and for the life of me cant calibrate the thing! Is FSUIPC a good option to do this or is there something better? Ive scoured the NET but couldn't find anything that worked.. Cheers

Firstly please excuse me if these two products do differently things but on face value it seemed to me that they both did a similar thing. I have been using Modman for some time to overcome intermittent problems I experience installing some addons especially aircraft with the error 'filename too long'. I can add such packages via Modman after zipping them but when I add them to Modman it does a lot of 'work' which seemed to me be the zip file being unzipped and stored somewhere affects free space on the drive. For about a week or so when I hit "Quit to Desktop" it closes the window, but the sim is still running in the background. When I go to XBox to open it, it says it is already running, but no sim is displayed. The only way I can close it by using the Task Manager. Anyone else having this, and how can I fix it. Roy

MSFS 2024 Precision Landing Challenge, Bilbao Spain, A320, Mountainous Approach, Vectors To Short Final, Both Engines Flamed Out, Aircraft Is In a Stall. No ILS, Where is the Airport??????? Are these suppose to be emergency training sceanios? How about some warning in a description before the challenge starts. This is suppose to be fun not stressful. I came in hot. Dive and Drive. Very lucky it was a displaced threshold. BTW if you try a Go Around to come in stabilized, you get a FAIL on the challenge. I've not yet found an understandable(!!!) step by step procedure how to make my AIG Installation in MSFS to work in MSFS2024. I'm really scared about this because in the past, every bigger change in my system/new installation etc. forced me to download the whole AIG stuff again. As much as I like and support AIG, the procedures to change installation etc. are difficult to find. Descriptions are often cryptic to me, if I understand it at all. I think I'm not a totally dumb, but with AIG I have had always problems when I had to change something essential. I'm normally fine with advanced computing hardware and software, but AIG is a different story, at least for me.

Hi all. Probably I'm dumb, I'm aware of this. But even after reading tutorials, watching videos and so on I still cant get it right. In the keyboard commands configuration, how do i save (and recall) the default cockpit view? What I mean is: I'd like to save a custom default view for each plane, and also being able to get back to that view with a joystick button after moving around wiith the mouse. Stupid question I know, but already made a total mess with controller configuration. Thank you all for the help.

I was just watching this video of an aircraft taxiing from the ramp to runway at Heathrow: I notice that the airport has an interesting automated taxi system where an aircraft simply follows the line of green lights. They stop at a red barrier where necessary and it works for most if not all routes across the airport. Would this be possible to implement in FS2024? I just think it's a pretty cool system and one I personally was not aware of. Apparently other airports that use a similar system include Paris Charles de Gaulle, Singapore Changi Airport, Amsterdam Schiphol Airport, Frankfurt Airport and Munich Airport. Hello, On the 2024 Pmdg 777-200ER RR I notice that the white nav lights at the rear of the wing tips don't light up, also the white tail-light. Only the red and green on the forward of the wingtips work. Has anyone else notice it?? Is there a fix to it?? thanx for the Help.

As a former pilot I appreciate the modern systems of warnings that aid pilots in many situations, and I certainly understand warnings for terrain, etc. The Longitude is one of my favorite aircraft and its systems are remarkable. However, I can certainly do without the continuous Terrain! Terrain! shout-outs and Pull Up! Pull Up! Pull Up! exclamations and warning horns when I'm exactly at the appropriate altitudes for my approach (Ecuadorian mountains). The approach is being properly read by the g5000 system and my altitudes are correct, so why all of the kerfuffle? Please can someone remind me. I've just managed to get hold of a 5080 to replace my 3080 which I have been using the framegen mod on. Can anyone tell me if I need to remove the 2 dll files I put in the content folder or will the new 5080 just ignore them and use its inbuilt frame gen? I have recently purchased the turbine Islander, having had so much fun with the piston islander. I am not getting any sounds in 2024. It's fine in 2020. Tried numerous re-installs. I was wondering if anyone has had a similar problem ? and if it was resolved.

I am watching a MSFS2024 video by RMAG about setting up the Honeycomb Bravo for different planes and he sets up bindings called throttle 1 cut, throttle 2 cut, etc. My MSFS2024 does not have those bindings. Have they been renamed to something else? Not sure why he has them in the video and I do not have them in my system. Thanks. When I go into the Controls menu for a device, I change something and it asks me to name a new profile. I give it a name and click OK and it seems fine. But when I go back to the menu to select the profile right after that, it's nowhere to be found. Until I figure this out, I can't change any bindings. PLEASE HELP! Thanks. I’ve been doing quite a bit of flying lately in MSFS 2020 and noticed something odd with performance across different cities. Big cities like New York, Chicago, and Portland actually run really smoothly for me, and great FPS too, even when flying low and slow. But when I try flying around Jakarta, Indonesia, I get a lot of stuttering, and it just doesn’t feel nearly as smooth. Washington D.C. seems somewhere in the middle — better than Jakarta but not as good as the others.
