Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

Hi, I think almost every plane i use the strobe and beacon lights is very very poor quality (other is not that great either btw) Is this normal with SU2 ? Michael Moe

When real GA flying was using Foreflight APPS. It was great. Now no more real world flying and just to have Canada coverage cover for charts was getting expensive For sim flying I see navigraph seems goods. Seems to have world chard coverage. I'm still using MSFS2020. I know MSFS2024 has built in chart availability. Is it worth going to navigraph? Does anybody know any other sites that have charts? I use fltplan.com, skyvectors but seem to only have North America coverge any ideas would be appreciated

So I am slowly trying to convert over to 2024. Main reason that I haven't is because of the countless add ons that are not 2024 compliant yet. Anyways, the PMDG 772 ER was a big push for me to make the jump. I have a 5080 and the performance is amazing with all of the bells and whistles turned on. But things like the stage 1 fan of the engines looking like they are about to explode is awful. I am thinking of turning frame gen off. Has anyone else?

Hi, I am on SU2 and using the MD83 from Leonardo and getting a pause like situation with sound and controllers working only. Anyone else having something simular and maybe a workaround ? Going to the menu and back didnt fix anything Thanks Michael Moe

With SU2 and AMD FSR3 I'm getting 170fps in the cockpit so have a few frames to spare. A perfect reason to enable RayTraced Shadows. They eat about 7 fps but I like them. dd

A few weeks ago I noticed that if I closed down MSFS2020 then later tried to run it a window advised that it was already running - I had to use Task Manager to exit the task. This morning when fired up MSFS2020 there was a mandatory update. Woohoo I thought, the closing problem has been addressed. Sadly (on my PC) it has not and I still have to end the task with Task Manager should I dare to run MSFS after running in earlier and not shutting down my PC. Does anyone else have this problem? Could it be that Asobo are unaware of it or just want to concentrate on upgrades to 2024 and thus try to force 2020 user to fork out again?

Hello, I have recently purchased ChasePlane that I like very much, but as a result of that, the issue with PMDG FMC and other instruments frozen has returned. It looks like PMDG cannot withstand complex Camera systems that Chase Plane brought. The issue so far is with NGX only. Can someone confirm that?

3 weeks ago i purchased Beyond ATC, and the performance has been significantly worse than expected. Firstly I guess that using a GA aircraft and not a jet aircraft I should probably not even use a ILS procedure however as I am learning I have used the arrival 'waypoints'/fixes on an ILS chart for YSCB including the altitudes. I note that there are quite a few 'waypoints'/fixes on the ILS chart which are so close together that there would be little time to keep manually adjusting the set altitude and then setting the descent rate (FPM) between each one and so look to those who know for information please. The 787 FMC FMC CDU has a seperate keyboard located beside the CDU. I can move the CDU to another screen but is there a way to put the keyboard on another screen to input data into the CDU. Alternatively, is it possible to enter data into the CDU from the PC keyboard? Kev M

A while back I replaced the stock loading video with the "Alternative Startup Screen" from .to ,from my memory that also muted the music. So all was good. It seems since SU2 the background music during initial loading has come back. Even when you have Music Volume =0 in the MSFS settings. This volume setting is not active until you reach the main menu.

Hello everyone When I use time compression the time is going 4/8 times faster so I cannot get realistic weather. What I mean is that for example navigraph shows KJFK 300 at 8 knots, obviously in the sim this real world data cant be shown because Im forward few hours. So is there a way where I can fasten the sim but still have the IRL time and weather? I have thought about setting the real weather options when Im doing the arrival but it wouldnt work for gods sake.

Could others that are running MSFS 2020 with ActiveSky FS in (passive) mode build 9243 confirm that ASFS is injecting weather and or working please? Or is it broke on my end?

I have been searching for a complete guide but I havent been able to find it. I installed the LVAR bridge but cannot get it to work. In 2020, you have to edit the PMDG aircraft config file for spad to communicate..... is that the case with 2024?

Today I reached my limit... I was so sick of 2024 randomly rebooting my PC that I finally uninstalled 😡 ...uninstalled my old power supply and installed a new one, that is. My issues started late last year and seemed to coincide with an Nvidia driver update. Some folks mentioned the newer drivers messed with power profiles, and when I reverted back to the older drivers the issue (mostly) went away. After updating to SU2 and installing the latest drivers to fix CTD issues, the reboots became frequent again, usually when the load on the GPU changed during loading screens. I’ve steered clear of career mode from the beginning because it has seemed totally riddled with bugs that interfere with progression and many mission completions, so it has seemed like it would be an exercise I frustration. I’ve been seeing quite a few fixes in the release notes but not sure the degree to which things are fixed / playable at this point. Any comments about now vs before in playability?

It seems after landing and parking at the gate (Any Airport) I go into the EFB under "Aircraft", when I click on "Set Chocks" the radio buttons for GPU, Doors etc. do not light up (Not Clickable). Everything works OK when setting up at the Departure airport, it's just at the Arrival Airport where I have the issue. The Parking brake is on & the the aircraft is completely shutdown. It seems without applying the chocks I cannot turn on the GPU or manage the Doors either. Just curious if anyone else has this issue?
