Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

Hi folks, It looks like this will be released shortly - does anyone know anything about this developer? I.e. what sort of level of simulation we can expect? The website seems to suggest that the systems modelling etc. will be very detailed with, eventually, modelled failures, but you can never quite know what is marketing flummery and what is real. Seems pretty promising though!

The "monitor" I use for FS2020/2024 is actually a 42" Samsung TV that I also use as a TV (especially during football season!). When using the TV as a monitor, do the Nvidia Control Panel monitor display settings, like brightness and contrast, etc., override and reset the same settings that you can set using the TV's internal display setup menu? If you have the TDS GTNXi and find the dual GTN integration a bit much for the C185, you try this variant with a single GTN750Xi in the stack. Credit to @marcfsx for the original integration mod! I have checked the file system and as far I am can see I have given access to everything, full access. I am running as admin but always get the error as in this screenshot. Any ideas ? will not let me add the link for picture for some reason but it basically says: windows systom32 host folder access is denied. I have gone in to this folder and on security have given full access to all. Thanks Alan

Never had an AMD card before with MSFS and I’m not happy with it in 2020. Replaced my old 3080 with a Sapphire RX7900XT and there is nothing about it that is better. I had to put my 4k ultra monitor in gaming mode otherwise there is black flickering in full screen mode. I was fixed at a smooth 1/2 rate 30fps before but now that is jerky and have to run at 60fps and I have had to keep just about the same graphics settings that I had with the 3080 in order to get slightly better performance. Nothing worse than spending a lot of money for an upgrade that isn’t much better.

Folks - I am new to the msfs 2020 Derekhe Map Enhancement mod and have a question concerning rolling versus manual cache. My question concerns whether the updated Bing (or other) image files from the Map Enhancement mod can be used to create the manual cache in msfs 2020. Since I have a low internet bandwidth, I create a manual cache of tiles, so I am not susceptible to internet speed issues. This limits the amount of image streaming that needs to be done via the Internet. When I create a manual cache of tiles, I assume that those tiles are created from msfs 2020 stock images. I am running SU3 Beta (latest). I have both the recent City Update VIII installed and I own the Flytampa airport and city addons. But no matter what I do, the strip and the surrounding area look terrible. I am flying in VR with my Quest 3 and using Virtual Desktop. I have a wifi 6e router and connect the Quest 3 using wifi 6E (twice the bandwidth of wifi 6). I can get 40 fps (I fly small VFR planes) with no SSW, so I don't think horsepower has anything to do with it. I even tried turning off Photogrammetry and I didn't see the complete oddities I saw with it on, but everything was so generic and not realistic looking at all. found today that the Autofps program 0.4.2.16 is connecting to MSFS ( green ) but simconnect and session are not connected ( red). Tried loading a flight several times but it does not work. Anyone has the same problem?

This week, I'm moving from 2020 to 2024. I currently use PSXT in 2020 as I like the realism of correct runways being used (especially at somewhere like EGLL). What's the best solution for 2024? Should I continue with PSXT?

The Landing lights switches and the Position lights switches are no longer moving/working after the latest update in FS 2024. I have tried both mouse options!! Can anyone assist please? No help so far on their discord.

When I first installed 2024 on my new machine, everything worked fine, flawless flights. Was flying around in the PMDG 777-200/300 all fine. Now I'm getting this unusual CTD (well it's not even to desktop). Just tried to complete a EGLL - CYVR in the PMDG 777 (FSDT CYVR and iniBuilds EGLL). Default weather. I left my flight with about four hours to go, went to run some errands. Came home and I could still hear the interior of the flight deck BUT all the lights inside my PC tower had switched off, the monitor was not receiving any signal, but the fans in the tower were still all running. This has now happened a few times. Can anyone help?

I am trying to duplicate a FS2020 mouse cockpit view binding in FS2024. The FS2020 binding looks like the below. I can't seem to figure out how to set up the same binding in FS2024. In FS2020, I can zoom the view in and our with the mouse wheel but only if the mouse wheel is held down at the same time. In FS2024 I can zoom the cockpit view with the mouse wheel, but the wheel does not have to be held down, which is not what I want. I can't figure out how to require the mouse wheel be held down for the cockpit zooming to work in FS2024. Thanks for any suggestions. Al

Interested in the new introduction of traffic in sayintentions and there has been a lot of hype about it but even though it is now released to their top tier subscribers I don't really see any current videos...just a couple that are a few weeks old and don't really showcase much other than say what it will be. Am I missing something here? Are the subscribers allowed to post examples or reviews? I'm pretty interested in it but definitely want to see realtime examples in sim vs. descriptions.

In FS 2024 I have been using the "Live Traffic" option, together with the default ATC. There's also the option for AI-generated traffic, or no traffic generated by the sim itself for external injectors and / or ATC to be used, but I'm not sure if at present the "AI Traffic" option is operational/ effective? Sometimes I enable it to check, but I never notice any traffic being injected...

I dont understand 2024 jetways management. There is not an option to ask connect or disconect jetways as in 2020, instead a "allow passangers boarding start or allow passangers boarding stop" options are available, but the problem is that the first option is present once you have landed and arrived to the gate, and the passengers begin to board, which is nonsense

Anyone else having issues with the server? For me the server constantly drops out while in flight revering many of services to offline mode which is not ideal. My internet connection is fine and fast - currently 200 mbps download speed on wifi.

Hi all, Just downloaded and extracted Blackpool airport and scenery to the community folder but it cannot be found on the world map and using the search still does not come up any ideas to get this working ? flight sim 2020 only been downloaded a week so fully up to days as well as my windows 11 pc also being fully up to date. Hi team: I'm experiencing (for the second time after MSFS20 release) that the default ground services (pushback truck, baggage trucks and catering truck) have disappeared when the aircraft is parked in airports which previously had them included in the selected parking spots. It's quite strange and I remember the first time I had this issue was back in 2021 due to a conflicting airport addon which was luckily identified at the time. I'm not using GSX. Now, this time it sems it's not easy to find if there's any conflicting addon. All my tries done yesterday uninstalling recently installed/updated airport addons have been unsuccessful. I'm starting to going crazy …

I've suddenly had problems with the graphics, the runway is almost completely white, everything else is ok.. Does anyone have any suggestions for errors?
