Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

Never saw this before, but when I try to sign in to either MSFS 2024 or 2020, I get this message that Xbox can't sign me in. Error Code: 0x80004005. It says to try again LATER! Is there something going on with Microsoft or is this a problem that is specific to my machine? Please advise...if you can help. Thank you.

Every time I launch FSL Control Center and do an update to the A32x series or FSDT Installer, they launch the download page for SODE? SODE is not compatible with MSFS 2024 so why keep trying to download and install when I've selected MSFS 2024? Also, anyone know why FSL Control center is loaded all the time even when I'm not using an FSLabs product? I know the SDK support aircraft selection detection, so why not load what is needed at that point? As a work around I've disabled FSLControlCenter.exe via exe.xml. Rob.

My Piper PA-28-236 Dakota Disappeared after the last FS2024 update. Not in my library or in Market place. Anyone know how I can get it back? Thank you Bill McCracken

Just dropped on me via a Full Screen “Mandatory Update”. Not even in Beta News yet, but is updated in Sim Release Notes. Start 2024 for the goodness and Release Notes. Some significant fixes this time, at least three. Blue Skies, -B

New Chaseplane version 2025.29-4-12 (for MSFS2020) on my setup.

The only option I've found is to enable "AI Radio Communications" in the Assistance Settings, but my copilot refuses to acknowledge any instructions from ATC. I have to manually reply. I hope I'm overlooking something, because I won't believe it's possible for them to make ATC worse than it was in 2020. 🙂 Do I need to do something to tell the sim I have a copilot? I'm using the Kodiak and there's a copilot guy sitting in the seat, so I assume the sim knows I have a copilot, but maybe there's something else I need to do?

Chaseplane new version (MSFS2020 in my case) to version 2025.27.3.17

Microsoft announced a free airplane for 2024. The Piper PA-28 Dakota but I can't find it anywhere. I thought it might have automaticaly downloaded into my sim but it is not there. I have gone to the MarketPlace but can't find it there. I have also gone to the Microsoft store but it is not there. Did anyone get this free plane? if so how did you find it? Thanks

Hi there, Since Nvidia filters aren't working on my system anymore I decided to install reshade last night. Unfortunately, my sim performance has taken a serious hit since then. I used to get FPS in the low 100's and smooth, but now I struggle to get to 50 and even then it's very choppy. I tried uninstalling reshade and nvidia drivers without success. I fired up FS2020 just to see if my system has bigger issues but that sim is still smooth as always (with same FPS around 100). Did my 2024 install get corrupted? Does anyone have any ideas? It appears MS/ASOBO have been improving weather and default ATC in the background. Today storms in my area (PA, KAGC, KJST) were fairly accurate, to include lightning (which I haven’t seen for some time now). Also noticing some differences in ATC. Perhaps preparing for SU16.

I’m thinking of shopping some new European airports for MSFS2020 and need your advice guys which of those listed below are worth spending money on. Is this progressing at all? I thought it would have been released by now but I wasn't sure if there has been any updates. I haven't been able to find anything besides some pics a few months back.

Hoping someone else can repro this. Installed TailStrike LKPR this morning to simulate KEWR-LKPR so I can "watch" MotoGP this weekend. Repeatedly and with ability to reproduce the flight plan is causing the symptoms of a WASM freeze (ie unclickable buttons, controls not working etc etc.) It happened 3 times this am back to back to back. I thought it was the scenery but the scenery loads fine and the freeze is at KEWR loading the flight. I’ve been away for a couple of years (since mid 2023) but got the itch to get back into it. So I’m jumping into MSFS 2024. I have a 4090 (same as in 2023) and a 9800X3D (new last year). My first impressions in a couple short flights around Vancouver… - Much faster to get from desktop into the sim - The default Vancouver airport is still bad so I immediately replaced it with an add-on and it looks better and surprisingly didn’t tank my FPS - Performance is better - but I’ve upgraded my CPU as noted above. Glasses needed for Fenix Beacon light in MSFS2024 ? The purpose of the beacon light is that you can see it flashing. However on the Fenix 320 in MSFS2024 (No idea in MSFS2020) it more like a candle and can only be seen in macro close up. I am curious as to whether anyone has encounter this issue. I have a handful of AmSim (Not BMW-AmSim, to be clear) airports, and all of them work well in 2024. However, UMMS Minsk appears to have some serious compatibility issue. I simply just copied the folder from my 2020 setup and dropped into 2024 community, and there are no buildings at the airport, essentially just empty space. This is the first time something like this has happened, so I am wondering if anyone is aware of a work around. Thanks in advance! Cheers, Pete

F.I. recently posted pictures of their Spitfire WIP rebuild for MSFS2024 on Facebook, and some of the comments asked about the B-17's progress. F.I. didn't respond at all, which is concerning. Maybe they were just trying to keep the thread on-topic ( i.e. the Spitfire ). Personally, I welcome everything they produce, but the B-17 is eagerly anticipated. Does anyone have any information on the project ? I'm not looking for anything precise - just a reassurance that development continues.

I’ll probably get roasted a bit for asking this question, but I’m running everything on ultra with high traffic settings on SI and either the Fenix or A350 and some Hayward airports. What should I be looking at for TLOD and OLOD settings?

With either the iFly 737 or the FSLabs 321 I get a CTD as soon as I initiate my SID out of LEBL, either from 24 R or 06 L Do you experience the same - LEBL "Barcelona El Prat" - default scenery.

First let me say I don't have MSFS yet. My new machine will be ready at the end of this month, when I'll purchase 2024. I heard that there will be an option to install MSFS 2024 directly on to an SSD. I do realize that it will still be necessary to stream information while using the sim. I know it's going to be BIG file, but I plan to install it on a 4 TB SSD that will be used exclusively for the sim. Does anyone know when this feature will be available? Thanks.

I bought PMDG737-600 to gain some FPS but it seems to have fps similar fps as Inibuilds a320 v2 or Fenix. (about 40fps) I thought I could get with PMDG to somewhere +50. I have tried to disable FO's screens and disable EFB, what else I could try to do for better performance? Also performance options in MCDU don't work, I'm trying to limit the PFD etc for 1fps but it doesn't seem to be 1fps. I have amd ryzen 5, 3600 and GTX 1660super with 32gb ram. I'm ofcourse mainthread limited, but even FBW a320 gives me +50fps so it's kind a weird. Latest version of pmdg737-600 and latest version of msfs2020
