Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

Now that AS has been out a few months, I was just curious what people think is more realistic in terms of depicting realistic live weather, AS or default? I feel like the clouds depicted in AS are a little flat and cloud tops in storms are not very high. Maybe i don't have it set up correctly but I would have thought AS would have been a bit more realistic. Thoughts?

I just discovered this add-on for MSFS and I was wondering if the community was using it and what are their favorite widgets. I see that there are some downloads missing from flightsim.to I'd like to add URL shortcuts and it would be cool to add AutoFPS or AS to the wheel menu. I know GSX can be added, but the widget is now missing from the downloads. Please give me a reason to buy the pro version. Thanks. Jose

Not seen this mentioned here, but as I am still using P2ATC on 90% of my MSFS flights, as well as 100% of flights in other sims, thought I would mention it ! Looks like an evolution, rather than revolution - but definitely improves on some of the shortcomings of the current version - particularly gives more options in terms of voices. Due this month, although no pricing information at this moment. G

This topic was raised a while back. Using a 7800 X3D CPU. The temps spike right up to 86 degrees C. Only over Europe - if I fly over South Africa or Australia/NZ the temps are in the fifties. How does one make Microsoft/Asobo aware of this problem? Very annoying - and other simmers are experiencing it as well.

The Blacksquare TBM 830 is awesome and has so many interactive features. However a basic one I assumed existed I can't figure out: the passenger cabin fold out table. How do you get this to work? Thanks!

Hello everyone, my name is Neil and I bought MSFS2020 when it was released back in 2020. All was good until my PC died and I got a new one and decided to install the Simulator on a dedicated ssd due to its large file sizes. Everything worked for a while, updates were successfully installed and caused no problems until the latest one. The sim will open, I select Profile, Content Manager, and click "Not Installed", "Select All" and things progress very slowly until everything comes to a grinding halt. Hello, Since a couple of weeks the scenery looks like **** again. I think after WU18. Yes, cleared all cache. Msfs is downloading with only 3-8 mb/s. My internet connecting is 100 mb/s. From october I get fiber 1gb. But probably won't make a difference when msfs servers are broken period. Any tips are welkome.. Cheers

Hi! I was a T-33 Crew Chief in the USAF way (WAY!!)back in the day. I was with the 49th Fighter Interceptor Squadron at Griffiss AFB, Rome, New York back in the mid 80's. We were an F-106 unit, but we had 8 T-33's that they used for things such as allowing the newer pilots to build time and for acting as simulated cruise missiles or bombers for the Sixes to practice intercepting. I have 10-12 hours of back-seat time, having been flown to several different bases to fix another T-33 that broke on a cross-country flight. I was also engine run and taxi qualified. From what's been shown, I'm curious how many are actually anxious to quickly shell out $120. You know you'll need the Ultimate version or some of the coolest missions won't be available to complete. Thinking of it differently, what features or expectations must FS2024 contain in order for you to be completely happy about dropping coin and side stepping into a very similar flight sim? I guess Call of Duty, Madden and Farm Simulator folk perpetually have no regrets about funding evolutionary releases so why should flight sim fans be any different. The only thing that really bugs me is the possible impairment of already purchased 3rd party addons.

We all do it I'm sure now and again but after noticing subtle stuttering had been happening that I had been ignoring for many weeks or months I decided to update to the latest NV driver, and the current one wasn't very old. I decided to do the R&R GPU driver, clear the DX caches, install a new GPU driver, and then reset NV Control Panel per your preferences. Since DX caches are associated with the specific driver it's useful to follow this simple sequence: 1. Delete each Nvidia driver entry including driver, PhysX, Geforce Experience. 2. Reboot 3. started an epic journey from the tip of South America up the west coast - saw the markers for some Flamingos & decided to go have a look - bugger - no flamingos - what am I doing wrong? flew very low & couldn't see them - do you have to fly really low & slow or have a heli to see them - felling very let down - sorta - seeing it was my first time flying in area that had the fauna markings - Also if anybody can tell me how to utilse those tree reduction thingos from flightsim.to? Do you just unzip them & bung them in the community folder or is another method required?

Stupid amounts of quality glass airliners out there but to me there is a definite void in complex steam gauge planes. PMDG DC-6 and Fokker F-28 (more of a regional than true airliner); is all there really is, right? Just Flight no longer list a 747-100/200 on their site so seems they have dropped it all together?! I just got this mod from TouchingCloud today in which I was only interested in the Wingman feature. Saw a few videos online (AveAngel P-47 review) and decided to get it from the store. The way I read it is you go to your aircraft.cfg, in this case for the PMDG 777, and you edit the entry icao_model= to say icao_model=B77W so that it matches Simbrief. Just loaded up msfs and yet again my bandwidth is to low to stream data. a couple of days ago, Azure voices went due to server issues. It seems that every other time I use msfs, it's one or the other and many others continue to complain about the same issue. I can't imagine that MS will be able to provide the server support for msfs2004 with it's increased on line content if it can't even support the lower demands of the current version. I think I am going to hold off purchasing in November as a result of this. Edit: Turned it back on again in data settings and all now seems good. Annoying when it keeps happening again and again though.

I installed the LSFG app from Steam some time ago, but I have not been overwhelmed with the results. Yes, it can deliver smoother performance most of the times, but, has been reported, seems to be at the cost of some unwelcome artifacts, which I know is one of the downsides. I'm wondering if anyone has had any success with a specific driver which may reduce the issue a little? I'm running an RTX3090. Thanks.

Hi all, Have a weird problem with BATC which occurred mid flight. My hot key stopped working, so went into the BATC screen and the hot key and UI ping work fine. Went into MSFS nothing no ping no comms. Restarted computer and both programs Then tried ATIS frequency in sim that was fine, opened up BATC screen again and requested push and start fine, when the sim is open no go, no ping or comms. Changed comm button to mouse button unassigned anywhere else still no go. Anyone have any ideas before I re-install BATC to see if that solves the problem. Thank You

I have just installed the app but cannot get it to work. When I click on the "scale" button (top right of screen), it counts down from 5 to 1 and then gives me a message "Select game window". I followed the installation instructions provided by IslandSim pilot in his Utube video. What am I doing wrong? Are there other programs/apps that I need to install as well? Would appreciate some help to relieve my frustration.
