  1. I quit to desktop and sim ended (IMHO) normally. When I next tried to start the sim using Steam/Play to launch it I found that Steam said the sim was still running. Task Manager shows NO occurrence of the sim or any of it's support programs. No processes for the sim are running. I told Steam to STOP the sim. Steam then showed the Sim status to be STOPPING. No tasks or processes shown by Task Manager show the sim running. Shut down Steam and restarted it - still says MSFS is STOPPING. What to do?

I have a simple but important question regarding the operations of this program: before turning ON the engines and the beacon lights there is no way to force take-offs and landings according on what I set in the AIForceTaxiOutRunway and landing preferences? Simple because if I'm at the gate preparing my A320, I need time before turning on the engines. Thanks Stefano

Hi all, so after being shamed on another thread into trying to fix my snapped-internal-wires bravo and doing so quite easily and wishing I’d done it sooner, I’m now looking at the prosimdesk Airbus Advanced and their Boeing 737 (with gates for the others incl). I am UK based so curious before ordering if there is anything as good in Europe that might make shipping easier, and if not - then has anyone in the UK bought these products and been faced with any shipping issues such as surprise customs fees etc. thanks in advance (and for being shamed as above!!) Ian.

So I have tried different traffic setups and AIG with AIGTC is still my favorite, especially for populating the airport during departure and landing. Fly into somewhere that has no active flights due to time of day and Live Traffic and it is a ghost town. The downside is AIGTC seems to crash for me a few times a flight. So I found a free program call Restart On Crash I Googled it for you... https://letmegooglethat.com/?q=restart+on+crash Simple premise, it monitors the app defined in runningprocesses and if it silently crashes the ROC automatically restarts it... Just thought I would share.

  8. Good evening gentlemen wherever you may be as well as any Ladies. For context I'll give you an example of how I arrived with having so many payware and freeware addons in my community folder. I completely quit drinking about eight years ago, since then I've used the weekly savings in money I now have to purchase games, addons, etc. Here in Canada, where I live, booze is heavily taxed so on average I would spend about a hundred and fifty dollars worth every week either at home or at the local pub. You get the picture. Since building a new machine back in May of 2022 I've purchased roughly that same amount every week on MSFS scenery, aircraft, utilities, etc; developer…

I am interested in purchasing FSI Panel to practice approaches and landings. I note that it can handle ILS/LOC/RNP/VDM approaches, but can it also simulate circle to land approaches, or visual approaches like the 09 approach at LGSM Samos?

I just bought a new chair for FS2020. Trouble is when I use the rudder peddles the chair moves back. Yes its on wheels. I can't be the only person that has run into this. So, looking for some advice. As I write this it sounds like a stupid questions. But, its a real issue. Thanks to all who reply. Don't laugh too hard. Bill McCracken

Why is the vector data so rubbish in Greenland? Large sections of small lakes in Greenland are black, but I have only just realised that this is because there is a serious mismatch between the position of the vector overlay and the underlying photoscenery image (the link below illustrates an example of this). In addition, the resolution of the vector data is also low, which makes it look even worse. https://www.mediafire.com/view/mqgqhw4om367usy/Screenshot_%28458%29.jpg/file On a side note, lots of small lakes in Greenland appear to be black, and I think that this is because these areas have no vector information whatsoever. The annoying part is that these "blac…

  15. In my impatience, I got FSHUD to see what is possible with reliable traffic injection. Been using it for a few days, just checking things out like performance, coordination, features, etc. And while FSHUD isn’t perfect (phraseology issues, sequencing errors, weird ground behavior at times) it’s still pretty cool. Then I wondered if it could be used as a traffic controller only, and….yes, it can! Loaded up a short flight in the 73, and loaded both programs. Turned down the FSHUD volume and used BATC for ATC…Now obviously BATC doesn’t see the other traffic, and it won’t sequence you accordingly, but having better separation, flow, and density all while the other p…

  17. A person made a Google map showing them all, he last updated it 2 days ago. I would suggest downloading it to your hard disk as a .kml file and also as a .kmz file. Both can be read in online or offline Google maps app. (Because it is his map and someday he may take it down or it becomes spoiled). I doubt anyone else will ever make one. For instance you can zoom in to see the locations of all the POI in any region. Both the MS originals and those from the updates: WU, CU, GOTY, 40th Anniversary etc. Click on the 3 dots on top of map in order to choose to download it to your hard drive. https://www.google.com/maps/d/u/0/viewer?mid=1KUg5jwyT_9k2A9n5IZ99UChl…

Hi all Looking at making the move from fsx se to msfs2024 when it comes out and would like to know if the current version is user friendly for home cockpits builders I would like to put steam gauges on a second monitor but heard msfs2020 has very limited options that doesn't allow for 2d panels Cheers Rhys

  19. Having an issue with the PMDG 777 where when loading at the gate, the outside sounds are as loud as they are when in external view. I was on a T7 IRL recently and I don’t remember getting my eardrums blown out from other aircraft on the tarmac. 🙂 Anyone else having this issue, and how can I resolve it? Update: I figured out that there was an update in the PMDG Ops Manager and since updating my plane no longer does this. It appears that it’s resolved. Admin: Feel free to delete this post, or keep up for anyone else that might come across this.

  21. I decided to move ahead on acquiring parts for a new system build and found a deal on a new 4090 FE. I was initially going to hold off on this until I replaced my CPU but then reasoned w/ major enhancements in multithreading maybe the best move would be to add FG so that I could dial back native frame rate from my default 35, to 25 such that w/ FG enabled we'd have a solid 50 FPS. This theoretically would buy major headroom for my 9900K, and it sort of has, such that unless this CPU expires I can't see needing an upgrade there when 2024 debuts w/ its performance enhancements. Plus, my only sources of stuttering now relate to insufficient VRAM. I'm really stunned …

As a PPL in the 70's, getting to know the modern avionics systems such as Garmin and other FMS glass cockpits has been a real eye-opener for me. Their capabilities are astounding. I am surprised by one thing, however... The Garmin iterations and some of the other systems auto-tune the navaids in the approach segment of the flight plan. Now, I'm not complaining about auto-tuning Nav1. Having the system pre-tune the approach localizer or primary VOR is a nice touch and reduces the work-load (which is what you want under IFR conditions). However, these systems are pre-tuning both NAV1 and NAV2 to the same frequency. Now, we have a problem - is this how they op…
