Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

I've been flying this plane the most for a good 2 years now and it's about time I tried something that's very similar but a bit more in depth than the default, something that'll do nicely until MSFS2024 comes along. I did look at the Kodiak from Sim Works Studios but it's not been updated since 2022 (as far as I can tell) so not sure if it still works correctly after multiple Sim & WT Avionics Updates and stuff since then. So can anyone recommend a decent similar alternative? and/or is the Kodiak working just fine these days so just get that? thanks

I have created a helipad airport and added what I believe is a built in/stock MSFS windsock. Even when I set wind speed at ground to more than 60 the windsock just barely 'flaps'. Is there something I need to do or is that all it 'does'?

Can someone please help how to get this running smooth. What settings in sim ? I have a 7950x3d. 3080ti. 6000mhz 32gb ram 49lg hdr uhd 4k tv 60hz I have auto fps and lossless.. But i would like to know what settings to use to get it quite smooth without the apps. Because with out auto fps and lossless its quite stuttery. Thanks Mike

I have installed the updated Inibuild EGLL, Heathrow and cannot get the VDGS Docking system to work. Am I alone or are others experiencing the same problem? Is there a fix? The VDGS files seem to be in the correct places. Thanks in anticipation

Hey guys, so I’m just looking for some basic info here and I’m wanting to modify aircraft sounds. Used to do this easily in P3D by just swapping the wav files with the sound I wanted..apparently it’s gotten a lot more complicated nowadays and my understanding is those was sound files are imbedded in a pak file? So I’ve tried to open them with 7zip (which is supports .pak allegedly) not it says it cannot open the archive. So to land the plane so to speak, how do I open pak files and how can I access the actual sound recordings within a sound file??

Hi all, Does anyone know how to set up the Honeycomb Bravo`s Throttle levers the right way it should to be because here on the MD-11 engines it should be Throttle lever 1 axis Engine one, Throttle lever 2 axis Engine three and Throttle lever 3 axis Engine two but it follows Throttle lever 1 axis Engine one, Throttle lever 2 axis Engine two and Throttle lever 3 axis Engine three so is it possible to set it up as it is for the MD-11 ? Here's a new one. Load into the sim and the Fenix is 100% invisible at the gate. I'm sitting there 10 feet up in the air with the GSX vehicles and workers read to go but no aircraft. Latest build of the Fenix, latest ActiveSky, latest GSX, everything up to date. Any ideas?

Ill open up a new thread because I did some testing and found some connections. My Sim has severe microstutters in any scenario displaying heavy clouds. It doesnt matter if those are created by live weather or by a preset. For demonstration I used the storm preset and the stutters are clearly visible in the sims FPS monitor: The stutter occurs every 3 seconds with the same time interval in between. The time period is roughly equal to the performance graphs distance in the FPS view e.g. next freeze happens when the purple line hits the end. The sim "hangs" and then "snaps free" like 2 seconds later. I am running a 5600x, ASUS 4060ti 16GB and 32GB of RAM. Usually…

Dear All, I am considering the purchase of the A320 family from Fenix. I will install it on a dedicated drive for MSFS. However, I am running out of space on my C drive so I was wondering if Fenix places any files on the C drive, and if they do, what how big is the folder that contains them. Best regards, Peter

Hi, I got the new 07FA - Ocean Reef Club Airport scenery. I got the scenery for Helo flying, although the runway is kinda cool by small plane. I have the Miami city from Samscene or whatever it is called and I thought it would be cool to fly around the Miami area. CONS Very expensive for what you get. ( I knew that even before I bought it, so I am ok with that) its kinda far from the Miami scenery. (for Helo flying) There is not much else around the little community. Hi all, I've been flying flight sims since the late 80's when Sublogic first came out with the first sim. I have over 11,000 hours on Vat Sim. I have a few questions on FS2020. 1) How do I get rid of the gauges when using the external view? 2) Is there a way to auto disarm auto-throttle upon landing? 3) How do I adjust the display brightness on the radio stack? 4) Is there a way to turn off the NDB/VOR morse code signals or auto tuning to these frequencies? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. BTW: I'm flying the 787-10 with Thrustmaster yoke and throttle quadrant.

Hello all! For some reason lately, I am getting a lot of CPU spikes which is causing my CPU fan to go up and down. Has anyone ever experienced this? The example below is with the Fenix A319 in CRZ.

I've recently been enjoying flying in the Falkland Islands (Malvines) with the Black Box BN2. What a great plane and region to explore. Does anyone know if there is a scenery package that upgrades the many airfields in the "camp" (or one in the works)? I'm very grateful that these airfields are including in MSFS. All they really need are windsocks, cones, white edge markers and such. Thanks!

Confirmed you can get out and walk around on container ships if you land a helicopter on one. I know they already confirmed walk arounds, but I didn't expect to be able to do it on random ships you've landed on lol He says every lighthouse is modelled, I guess OSM data + generic models because that would be a lot of lighthouses to model by hand.

I will be curious to know when the airframes will be available to Simbrief for the Fenix A319 and the A321. Hopefully someone knows the answer already. Lee

If I turn this off and shut down the sim and then start it again it's always back on. It's driving nuts. Why is it doing this? Anyone else seeing this behaviour?

Dipping my toes into msfs2020 which is a big leaning curve from my fsx se setup. Does anyone know if the bell 407 twist throttle can be mapped . I have mappped my twist throttle for the cabri via prop pitch but it doesn't work for the bell 407 Cheers Rhys

Aerosoft released a video today previewing their upcoming Frankfurt scenery, and at the end, there's an A340-300 taking off from runway 18: (Video should play from the right timestamp, otherwise fast-forward to 9:44.) As has been discussed before, they have received a grant from the German ministry for economic affairs to produce an A330neo and A340. (Linked article is in German, but Google Translate should handle it.) Is this a glimpse of the in-development A340? I haven't been able to run MSFS for a few months now. I've opened previous threads trying to explain the issues I've been having since the rollout of the last update. I've tried so many things that I've lost track. The sim launches and then goes to a smaller, all black window and never goes any further. Should I finally call it quits and give up? I'd hate to do that after having been using this product for 25ish years.
