Wrecked a few planes along the way but I have started to do more of these and I have to say they are a lot of fun once you get confident with them. They really force you to use the charts as you always need to 100% know where you are. Bit more of a challenge than normal ILS and usually these non precision approaches involve a late turn or something else where you need to get configured/gear down whilst still late-maneuvering . [Hobart, AU is a good one, so is LGIR in Crete] Looking to do more of them.

I have been simming since the Spectrum days. I have flown them all but never really got hooked with civilian simulators over the years as there was a lack of meaningful missions and campaigns / careers. Even though I like to learn a complex aircraft, the A to B jumps of my own choosing and not having a long term goal makes it less interesting for me. I guess I am a gamer at heart wrapped in a flight simmer shell. I did laugh at some friend that talked about being hooked playing Euro Truck simulator 2 and bought it on a Steam sale. Driving a truck from Gothenburg to Paris for hours? Seriously? Late that evening my wife opened the door at 2 am asking if I was not comi…

I forgot all about this and finally turned it up the other day. Makes QUITE the difference, particularly near mountains. I kinda like it 😁

Perhaps it's my OCD but I always stick to plausible AC and liveries while flying on VATSIM. That means I have tons of liveries for FBW A320 and PMDG 738 and rarely use widebodies (mostly when the middle east is online ^_^). Since Iran has quite active community, I was thinking of doing some domestic routes there, but the only AC I have matching the Iran Air/Mahan Air fleets would be the iniBuilds A310 included with MSFS. Is that a totally silly reason to learn it? 😄

Hello everyone. I've seen several pictures here of MSFS, and all of them look very crisp and detailed but mine. This is an example, landing with the Fenix A320 at UBBB: Full 1080p picture here: https://flic.kr/p/2qgUxNJ Airport is this freeware enhancement: https://flightsim.to/file/17101/baku-ubbb-airport-lights-enhancement Specs in signature. The other stuff I have running with MSFS is ActiveSky (I never got along with default WX), GSX (which somehow shuts down after takeoff), LVFR static aircraft and FSHud (with just 10 active and 10 parked aircraft). I lock the sim at 30 FPS with RTSS (front-edge sync) and then I apply 2x FG with Lossless Scaling.…

Hiya, is there a way to enable sim rate >2x for the FBW a32N ? i know its possible in aircraft.cfg but that would mean doing it for every single livery which is .. not great. Perhaps the newest beta allows that?

Cannot operate Memory problems detected! Operations restricted. Anyone seen this message with MSFS2020 v1.37.19.0? I continued the flight test (Flysimware C414AW) and did not notice any aircraft or scenery issues.

So the last time I wrote about the importance of having good Route Planning and Charts in the sim, by default. It was pleasing to watch the presentation and find that the powers that be at MS had the same vision and recognised how important that is. And not only that, what was presented was superb, because the App includes Fuel and Payload calcs all in the one integrated App, which is so much better than Navi. So... based on everything I have seen and read, I have reached a high level of confidence to make a new prediction for FS2024. And that is ........ the road networks, highways, bridges and vehicles and animations etc are going to get a Major overhaul. And driving…

I have tried to use XnResize to change my images down to 1024 x 1024, because the FPS saving is too good not to do this. At Gatwick EGKK I am going from 20-22 FPS with original FSLTL images to 27-29 FPS with optimised images. There is about 5-7 FPS if you resize the images down and SimObjects folder is down from 21GB to 2GB I have seen some other users have managed to do this successfully but I am struggling as some of my aircraft now have 'black' skins - but not all. I am resizing to 1024x1024 and replacing over the original image, with metadata + time/date attributes ticked, mode = Fit Some aircraft look absolutely fine, but about 30% are …

GotGavel have just posted about their MSFS 2024 planes on Discord and also indirectly confirmed the leaked images of the default planes. The GotGravel planes are Optica, Stemme S12-G and and Draco-x in teh standard edition and Pipistrel Taurus-M and Zlin Norden in Premium Deluxe. They've also reposted the previously leaked image of all the MSFS 2024 planes effectively confirming it's genuine and mentioned that MS will be publishing a lot more info on '24 from today. https://discord.com/channels/793376245915189268/870147903916748822/1286311150404763680

i have got better performance and less pauses and no stutters, when using dx12, instead dx11. Thats odd, because i have before gotten better perf. on dx11. 4070 super seems to play better in dx 12 beta, thats odd, but is good.

Does anyone know of any reasonably good helicopters that I can buy that use the TDS GTN 750? The ones I have all use the default GPS and it’s horrible. If it can’t use the TDS then it’s a no go. Many thanks. Jack

Hi I just had to reinstall msfs due to a hardware issue. The IFR1 worked fine before but now the knobs and all GPS buttons dont work. I can control hdg and coms no issue. When I press FMS 1 and rotate the knobs nothing happens. I try the DIR TO, menu, CLR and no response. Testing using the asoba 172 and g1000. Using USB 3. Any ideas?

Hi all I have created a small scenery with 3 helipads and some scenery items . The scenery works and the helipads show in the world view when I select my departure but for some reason the heliport H is not in the same location as the helipads the H is a couple of kms south of the helipads Cheers Rhys

Used their birds for decades but at the moment I'm not happy w/ PMDG 738 on several fronts which are as follows: Of my 4 planes frequently in use in A Pilot's Life w/ Self Loading Cargo, the PMDG 738 is the only one that causes problems w/ SLC in a few critical areas. I don't blame the dev there this plane has some features that apparently make it difficult to work with and he owns it and keeps trying to grapple with having it always work as do the other planes I use. We waited for weeks for PMDG to fix the lame 90 degree yoke rotation issue. Just now, I had to hit RESTART 3 times on a nice fresh clean boot of Win 11 and MSFS, because the fricking VC sudde…
