Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

In the World screen the info line (ends in Nav Log) shows only 2 of the 8 enroute waypoints which appear in the Nav Log below the info line. The Nav Log shows all the enroute waypoints specified in the .pln file. The World Map also shows all 8 way points. When the Flight Plan is loaded into the DA62 or C-172 G1000/Nxi display I seen only the 2 waypoints shown in the World screen Info line. The same flight plan loaded into the TBM 930 G3000 shows all 8 waypoints. If I load the plan first into the G1000 (displays only 2 of 8 waypoints) and then use Developer Mode to switch planes to a G3000 I see ALL 8 waypoints. If I load into the G3000 first and then chan…

I purchased the sim from the Microsoft Store and when I am presented with the drive list, I am not seeing my G: drive. This drive is a fast external SSD on USB3.1. Every other game I own is installed on this drive and performance has not been an issue, and that's with major AAA titles like CyberPunk and AC: Valhalla on it. I have no other option ... I won't have enough on C which my OS SSD, and D is a mechanical drive and will be too slow. I see the drive in Windows Explorer.

Taking a flyer here: I've been using my PS5 controller for drone camera control for some months now. Works really nice for sitting back and looking around in the external (drone) view. With this update, the controller doesn't show up in the Controls section. That's it. No wireless controller, as it was identified, is seen. I've looked through the internets and found a single other person with this controller with the same problem. He was on the flight sim forum and had received no replies. Any thoughts? Hoping someone can help. I’m experiencing a large FPS loss with this latest update. I know I don’t have a powerful system but I was getting 28-30 FPS with moderate settings before this mega update. Now I’m getting 10-12 FPS. I’ve been researching on google with lots of suggestions that had no results. I’ve updated my system and all programs. I have the latest Nvidia drivers. Even if I lower all graphics settings in MSFS 2020 there is no change. Frame rate stays at 10 - 12. I’m at a loss what is doing this. Everyone seems to be gaining and I’m going the other way. Is anybody else following the work that Bernd Diehl is doing? I saw him on MSFS Developers Facebook page. He's created several WWII airfields in the Solomon Is. (I believe) along with several variants of flyable A6m5 Zero, and two aircraft carriers and a sea plane tender. Great stuff. I can't find a link to purchase though. Does anybody know? Quite literally, is the approach turn back bug. Whereby when you enter an approach into the MCDU the aircraft tries to fly back to the last waypoint you passed rather than to the next one on the approach. In all the carnage of update 5, it seems to be disappearing from the long list of complaints. Has anyone found a workaround/remedy? I guess it even affects the FBW aircraft? It is quite honestly immersion killing.

First time I booted up after the update, all glass panel functions recently bound to my Xtouch Mini were gone. In fact, the device seems now to be completely non-functional. it seems as if a lot of the imported scripts I have been using through Axis and Ohs are no longer functional. I also lost many bindings or had axis's reversed on peripherals Most people have complained about visual issues. Has anyone noticed changes in the underlying scripting that affects bindings of cockpit functions and controls?

I posted in the forum regarding the release of the Aviat Husky A-1C that I am now going to dive back in. A quick background, because it's relevant. I've been simming since FS9, that passion led me to become a Commercial Pilot and later ATC. I have been away from simming for a decade or so, but prior to that I was heavily into FS and X-Plane with study-level airliners. I had all the relevant hardware including yoke, pedals, and Track IR. Now, I'm older and have less free time. I also have no hardware. Any help appreciated...I saw I was not connected to a server so I tried signing out, but couldn't sign back in. On starting MSFS I get to the rhinoceros screen, with a black square in the center....no dialogue. It then reverted to the old "press any key" page....and just cycles....will not advance....as I say, any help appreciated. Thanks.

After not having flown it for quite some time, I noticed today the the text warning etched into the side windows of the Bonanza B36 has finally been fixed to say ‘shoulder harness’ and not ‘shoulder hardness’. Not sure when that fix snuck in but I presume it was with SU5.

Since SU5 the lights on my Honeycomb Bravo have stopped working. All the buttons and switches work as they did before but no lights. I downloaded from the AeroSoft website and reinstalled. I can see AFC_Bridge in the community folder and it shows up in Content Manager as Not Installed. Not as big a deal as the CTDs and other issues with the update and hotfix but just curious if anyone else is experiencing this. Richard

Here's an image I took, just right outside of San Francisco. If you look closely at the photogrammetry trees, they load in very late and look terrible. I have an 800Mbit connection and using the vanilla Ultra Preset (lod sliders at 200). The cause of this could be lots of things from heavy server load, to things being changed in SU5, etc. But whatever it is, I hope they fix it.

Let's be positive about the fact that the Xbox release is finally done! I guess a lot of work in the team this year has been focused on getting MSFS to run well on the Xbox with the same code base. With the hard 16 Gb memory limit and rather average GPU by 2021 standards, that must have been a lot of work. And then the plumbing with control schemas, menus, distribution etc. So now when it's done I guess that we will see more focus on core bug fixing and implementation of new content like helicopters, gliders etc? One thing I discovered yesterday evening while flying into Vegas is that volumetric lighting is now missing from MSFS! This has been a basic feature that has been available in the sim since launch and before. Volumetric lighting helps immerse pilots when flying through the clouds, especially at night. It was a blast watching the lights bounce off the clouds as my aircraft passed through each cloud. With the most recent update, it's now missing! On Facebook MSFS group, some are reporting a new update this morning. I am at work so can't check it, has anyone seen this or is this bogus?

My default aircraft in the Baron G58. I can usually switch the fuel tanks on using the mouse. The latest update seems to have completely screwed operating these (floor mounted) valves. Does anyone know how to switch on the fuel ? Cheers

I know this is not scientific, but I would like some idea. I hope my answers are adequate. Bear in mind less then 2% of users come to this forum.

I have been trying to change some LOD settings in this config file. I change the values from 2 to 4 and then save the file. But after running MSFS and going back to the file, the values have reverted back to the original values. What am I missing? And yes, the file is NOT Read Only.

Since the "update" I tried to fly the Baron today, starting from cold and dark. It's not possible to change the position of the fuel selectors, has anyone else found the same?

I have tweaked my Nvidia game filters to get something that I find reasonable good. Except.... Except that I tweaked under a sunny weather. Today we have a solid overcast with some light rain on the Côte d'Azur and the terrain is too dark with my tweakings so I went back to a no-filter scenario, vanilla 5 😉 ! EDIT no vanilla 5, I made another filter after all 😁 ! This sim which was said to be the Sim Which Would End All TweakingsTM by the Adulators is like any other in the past. Endless tweakings but hey ! it's a flightsim, you can't go against your nature said the scorpio of the fable.
