Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

U5 actually really rocks. For me at least. Here is my cockpit. I get 30 45 fps Ultra and Hight settings with 4 screens, one running air manager with a touch screen and Knobster for controls. The complex instruments shot is the DC6 it runs perfectly and all the gauges work, not a huge frame rate improvement on the DC6 if any, but it runs and PMDG has an update coming to fix frame rate. The other screen shots are of Cubs the X and the new Husky. They are perfect in U5 and the graphics on my 5 year old system works great. I am right now in a computer flight from Mackinaw Island, to Flint (KFNT) Michigan, and am running SU5 at full Ultra, (custom) with BLOOM as off, and Super Sampling at the full 8x8. I am also running my 4K wide view monitor at 90 percent of native resolution. With that aforementioned, I am keeping for the most part between a fluctuation 29-33 FPS. No stutter whatsoever. This is on a 2012 Dell XPS 730x running a 4 core Intel i7-780 Extreme overclocked to 4.3 GHz's and system RAM in overclock. GPU is the EVGA FTW 1070 8 GB'er. On the latest update the Bravo throttle knobs are conflicting. If I select air speed and use the + - knob to scroll the number mine is also updating Altitude? It did not do this before.

Hi, Last night MSFS had an update to version 1.18.14. Almost 50GB. As far as I can see, new stuff to discover, but most annoying though is that it doesn't recognise the FBW A320 anymore. It is in the Community folder but won't show up in the aircraft listing. I installed it again to no avail. Anybody got a suggestion?

I must to say - thx for this HT! I had a lot CTD after SU5 and opened this topic before: I didn't write about it for a few days to test a dozen flights but now I can say - no more CTD for me like before of SU5. Great job Asobo with this. I'll close reported issue on Zendesk about it.

I've reached the end of my tether with the SU5 CTDs. I've tried everything I can think of, including a full reinstall. I've stripped out all of my addons from the community folder, marketplace purchases and even the MS/Asobo content updates. The straw that broke the camel's back for me was encountering repeated CTDs while trying to install the World Updates from the content manager into my fresh new installation of version 1.18.14.0. If the software is too unstable to download and install its own updates, I'm not wasting any more of my time trying to get it to work. I have resisted buying MSFS. I've seen so many new programs have so many problems for months after launch that I decided to sit back and watch the ensuing mayhem - of which there appears to have been much. However, things seemed to have settled now and with the much-heralded performance improvement coming at the end of the month, will it be time to take the plunge? An additional question: if I purchased MSFS after this update, would the download come with this update included along with all the previous updates - or will they all have to bee downloaded separately?

The latest DEV version appears to include a "Nose Wheel Steering" switch, would someone kindly enlighten me as to where this can be found. Many thanks in advance..........................

After the update of SU5 I have these melted look buildings around London City. I’ve tried resetting the cache, disabling the cache, manually creating cache etc all to no avail. Does anyone have workable solution. Unfortunately the forum won’t let me upload pics here

I am having problems with steering the Just Flight Arrow III in MSFS20 when I accelerate to take off speed I find I need to apply full rudder to keep it steering straight and then when I lift off because of this I struggle to keep the wings level. I do not have any problems with all the other aircraft installed in the flight sim, has anybody else had this problem and is there a fix?

Is there any MSFS addon which can display useful airport information in a window, i.e.: wind and weather conditions, air pressure, active runways etc? Or otherwise a window to see the radio frequencies for ATIS etc? Greazer.

I'll make it simple, Asobo can't keep blowing up the code with each monthly service update. First off there's no excuse for this and second we're going to start seeing our freeware/payware developers throwing in the towel. After that this thing is done.

Hi Before SU5 I was always limited by GPU as it's quite normal that my RTX 3070 is not enough for 4K@100. (What Dev Mode FPS counter showed all the time) After the update with the exact same settings and config Dev Mode FPS counter shows "Limited by Mainthread PC" but I'm sure I'm still limited GPU (100%) usage as I check values from RTSS. It looks a bit weird to me. Anyone experience the same ? By the way I didn't get any noticable gain with SU5. Is that normal ? I see lots of people are sharing their hugely improved FPS's ! Anybody try this yet? I'm having it fly one of my routes in the Daher and it is a gas. Talk about lazy flying. All other aspects of the flight are normal without any of the recently reported defects and scenery / sky / fps are awesome as usual. BTW my 3060TI is running at 100% fulltime just like with SU4 but using about 20% less VRAM. Cheers bs

Autostarting (X button) seems to have taken a vacation in SU5 for some planes so I just use the checklists to get the motor going. Probably a good piloting practice anyway. Cheers bs

Hello everyone! Ever since SU5 I am getting this weird graphic glitch as seen in the video below. This started with only at night with the landing lights ON and close to the ground. But know it is happening in daylight on approach with the LDG off. After I land it get worst as well. And no this doesn't happen at departure or cruise. OK more testing....thats all I do. EGNX Runway 27 clear skies 1pm Pre set to LOW CLICK ON TOP PICTURE and Press > Same as above but config file showing Now from setting LOW to setting Ultra with config open. Now here is the KILLER and why I wish more peopel would run this test and also share any reason they seem to think this happens not just.....I dont see this.... ok so flying the 152 the other night I hit ESC mid flight expecting to go back to the settings but my sim "froze"...nothing clickable but no CTD. After about 5 mins I realised the key command in SU5 to get back into the sim, after hitting escape is now CTRL P. In SU4 and earlier ESC took you to the settings and ESC got you back in the sim. Right ok when my sim "froze" I thought I should hit Ctrl P and lo and behold the sim "unfroze". I've just loaded up the FBW A320 and same thing again, ESC freezes the sim (doesn't open the settings) and Ctrl P unfreezes the sim?? What the heck.
