If you're experiencing stutters after installing Sim Update 3 on MSFS2024, it might be due to simply opening the EFB to load a flight plan. I found on my systen that flights using the default 787 were a stuttery mess after installing SU3. These flightrs were smooth before SU3. I then discovered that the stuttering started only after loading a flight plan using the Sim's built-in EFB. In fact, I don't even have to actually load the plan to cause the stuttering. Just clicking the EFB's "Flight Planner" button is enough. Here's a test you can perform: 1. Start the Sim and select "Free Flight" 2. Select the default "Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner" as the aircraft. 3.…

In the Aerosoft CRJ I'm finding that the SHIFT-{#} keys are nearly perfect, but a couple are off by a hair. The upper-most area conflicts with the FS taskbar so I want the same view, but just nudged a bit. I cannot, however, figure out how to set the corrected view and overwrite, say, SHIFT-3. Is this not a thing?

I dunno about you, but when I look towards the sun, I don't see lens flare... but MSFS thinks I should. How do I disable this? I tried adding the old post processing lines from 2020 into my UsrCfg.opt file but it seemed to ignore that - or I've done it incorrectly. If you have figured out a way, please share. Thanks! -Chris.

Hey all I've been puzzled by my sim performing really badly for a week or so now, (I was on the beta for SU 16 and now the release candidate) I've for years been locked to 30FPS, FG 2x, and have had smooth frames in 2020 all the time. Now I get that on departure, but I'm down to about 19FPS and heavy stuttering on landing, every time. It's really frustrating me, and I cannot pin down what is going on. Starting from about 5,000 feet AGL and descending through clouds, right to touchdown and taxi, absolute slideshow. I have an i7 Asus gaming laptop with a 3080. I'm using the latest PMDG 737-700 and apart from that have an empty community fold…

finally decided to give 2024 a go - downloaded OK - I think - but start up is stuck at 97% which seems to have been a problem in the early days - when restart was suggested as the answer - uninstall and reinstall was no answer then - so haven't tried that Have done that 4 times - closed down and restarted - no luck still stuck Any more suggestions to help a 90YO ?🙏

There are almost no buildings in the airport. I have tried everything. From the only addon in the Community folder to deleting the scenery index file. Nothing can make it work. But in msfs 2020 it works perfectly. Anyone have similar experience or helpful advice?

Guys hi, I’m a new poster, and have a problem with the DLSS-to-FSR3 tweak <here>. My specs are as follows: MSFS2020 Win10 Asus ROG STRIX Z690E Nvidia ROG STRIX 3080 12GB 32GB RAM DDR5 I had been using the DLSS-to-FSR3 tweak since it was released in Jan 2024 with no problem, including with the Nvidia app installed on my PC, until… SU16. Since SU16, “Frame Generation” doesn’t show in the Graphics options of MSFS2020 unless I do the following: - Uninstall the Nvidia app - Reinstall the Nvidia app - Uninstall the Nvidia app If I do that, Frame Generation will appear in the Graphics options of MSFS2020, but only once, as in u…

Hi, I'm having an issue with the Frame Generation Mod and MSFS 2020. It had always worked fine (I'm using an RTX 3080), but after I recently updated my NVIDIA drivers, the mod stopped working. After the update, I copied the two files from the Nexus Mod folder and ran the registry file again – just like I’ve always done. But now, the Frame Generation option no longer shows up in MSFS. Do you have any idea what could be causing this?

Hi, I have been using Addon Linker for a quite a while now with no issues. Recently, when I select the files I want to load into my community folder and hit the 'launch simulator' button - rather than the simulator loading straight away, I get a dialogue box asking me if I want to 'Load Flight Simulator?' - when I select 'Yes' - I get another dialogue box saying 'The Simulator has been launched and should start soon' - and the simulator does not launch. I have removed the \ProgramData\MSFS Addon Linker 2024 file, and redownloaded and reinstalled Addon Linker 2024 again , but still get the same issue when I try and launch the simulator. I am trying to work out ho…

Are any of you guys using Mobiflight and SimAppPro at the same time during a sim session? I've read that they run smoothly side by side, but I've heard similar claims about other software before. Sometimes there were conflicts in similar situations. I have some hardware that uses Mobiflight and also Winwing hardware that uses SimAppPro. I'm switching over to MSFS 2024 next month and would like a heads up on this. Thanks.

Title kinda says it all. I posted about "melted buildings" a week ago. Some of the responses indicated that SU3 was going to fix this issue. Haven't had a chance to fire up the sim due to work issues but I'm wondering if this is really the case? On a related graphical artifact note - did SU3 improve the blurry electronic instruments you get when using DLSS?

Flying multiplayer with friend. I am flying PMDG737 and friend flying same aircraft PMDG737. We both are using this aircraft and when we were at the airport, he saw my 737 but his aircraft was showing up as a low wing single engine aircraft. Also lately when I pick a parking spot in the world screen and fly now I end up on top of another aircraft already parked there. And when I go to outside view and look at the other gates, thy all have double aircraft showing. Crazy Huh? any ideas what is going on. I appreciate all your help. Walt

I was watching a video yesterday (can't remember who made it) where the author suggested maxing out everything in MSFS and using 3x Nvidia native framegen. Well, I thought no harm in trying so gave it a shot. So far even in my heaviest scenery areas, I've been able to achieve a super smooth 60 FPS with virtually no dips at all (I've set 60 max in the NVCP as I don't really need any more than that and much prefer the smoothness of not going for max FPS all the time. I know 3X framegen will not be everyones cup of tea, but if you have a 5000 series card, it's well worth a try. before SU3 anything other than 2X frame gen did not work. I have noted some fairly hi…

That annoying sound that sounds like someone is scratching a sand paper across a piece of wood is still there every 3/4 minutes. I thought this was being sorted out in SU3..?

I know the subject of comparing MSFS 2020 with MSFS 2024 has been discussed at great length in this forum, but I am opening this new topic because I live in a rural area where I'd need to fell trees to see faster internet speeds with my Starlink setup, and also because my flight sim use will be limited to flying PMDG Boeings in and out of just a few select airports for which I'd like to see highly detailed ground scenery. Coming from the archaic MSFS 2004, my knowledge of MSFS 2020 and 2024 has been gleaned entirely from this forum and others, as I haven't purchased or tried 2020 or 2024 thus far. Specifically, I am curious to find out how 2020 runs in comparison to…

Hi, SU 3 introoduced the "max framerate" option. While I understand the difference between a target-setting and a max (= capped) setting I'm not sure how they might influence each other or which one should be preferred (if any) or if they should be used in combination. I'm running a 5070 TI in 4K with a G-Sync Monitor with DLSS balanced and FG x2 What are your observations on these options? Thx

Not sure if anyone has seen this, but I signed in to GFN yesterday and spotted that you can play MSFS 2024 on it: The reason I signed up in the first place is because my PC is a couple of generations old now. I do play games other than MSFS so thought GFN was a cost effective method of playing the latest and greatest without investing £5k+. My machine can run MSFS 2024 but I do have to dial it back quite a way. I loaded it up and it works surprisingly well given the game is heavy on both CPU and GPU. I was able to push the settings to the max in 4K with frame generation and it was very smooth. I say smooth as I wasn't able to verify the exact numbers as for som…

Hi, I previously had a very generous 128 GB rolling cache defined as reports indicated a better performance (I didn't do comparisons with other sizes tough). Now, after SU3, I downloaded a good portion of sceneries to my SSD and am wondering if should reduze the rolling cache back to, say, 32 GB? Any experience on that yet? Thx

I’ve tried pretty much all the other FG options (default, Lossless scaling from Steam, FG mod), and all have some downsides. Just found out about Optiscaler so wondering if it’s a clear improvement over the others?

MSFS 2024 I noticed we no longer have the option of Set As Default in the controls settings. What I did prior to SU3 was create generic profiles such as Single Engine Props, Twin Engine Props, and bind my appropriate aircraft to the applicable profile. When I started a flight and chose an aircraft the correct profile would load automatically. So, did we lose this capability or am I missing something?

MSFS 2024 The V key does not work. According to google there's a gear symbol on the drop-down menu at the top of the screen that would allow me to add it to the menu. I don't have that.

I'm just curious if there is a way to scale down the size of the runway and taxi lights 3d model in FS2020 or FS2024. They are too big.
