Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

I read this sentence on the forums hundreds of times in the last 5 years. I wrote it myself at least once. But I wonder "where" it's getting and "when" exactly it will happen. Until a few years ago a videogame came out and we played it with peace of mind, we enjoyed it if it was good or dumped it if it was bad, but that was it, we knew what we got. And before the pervasive broadband era, the developers knew that they could not screw up too much with a release. That was the case of FS2004 and FSX for me... for many of you with the previous versions as well. And a ton of games of other genres as well: "triple A" productions were usually good from day one. …

Hello, I am a long time simmer (since FS 2000) and I have not bought FS2024 because I have a poor internet connection (Down 8.8 Mbps, up 0.54 Mbps). It is clear the the stream mode is not for me. Do you think that with the download mode, I will be able to use FS2024? I don't mind if it takes ages to download an area and I am not a FPS chaser, 50 is enough for me. Does the download mode require a minimum internet connection once the flight is launched? Can FS 2024 work with zero internet connection (once the data has been downloaded)? I have not yet found answers to those questions. Thank you.

I have FS 2024 standard edition also have FS2020. I have been trying to purchase the cessna on fs2024 market place without success. The purchase pop up states wait , however nothing happens after that. This happens on every attempt My card details are valid and I had no problems purchasing the sim via microsoft store some months ago No response so far from MS Forums so hoping there maybe some assistance in this forum Richard

Hello, I noticed today that several addons weren't automatically loading as I would expect. When I went to update GSX, the FSDT installer told me I had a corruption in the exe.xml. It looks like the top of the text box is giving me more information on where the issue is, but unfortunately it is cut off (see image below). I have being using FSTraffic, either at 2020 or 2024, but after SU3, it doesnt work any more. I guess it is due to the new SU3 traffic settings which doesnt allow to disable completely parked traffic and aircraft traffic, which FSTraffic requires to be off.- Does it happens to anybody else ?

This is a question that I have wanted to ask for some time.... If (for example), I reduce speed from 200 knots to 190 in the PMDG 737-600, it will frequently drop to around 185 before the autothrottle properly "kicks in" to return it back to 190. Is this accurate? I would have expected the autothrottle to keep a better handle on the speed that has been set on the MCP. I do not remember noticing this in the P3D version to such an extent, so is it something that is a bit "loose" in the MSFS version?

I'm not really sure if this came about in the SU3 update or was present before, but as of right now NONE of the "free" Airbus(s), meaning 330, 320, or 321, are working for me. I'd love to find a way around this, I've reported on Inibuild forums but have seen no response. For me these planes are dead in the proverbial water. Here is the problem: I have the Thrustmaster Airbus sidestick and throttle but I dont think this is specific to that, and the same hardware functions perfectly on the Fenix or Headwind, I have done the calibration in the Inibuilds and the detents in the cockpit all seem perfect. I had a problem with msfs 2024 not loading so I shut in down in the task manager, the next time I started it it was in safe mode. I shutdown again and restarted normally. The thing is the next time I started it I lost all my community folder content. I had to re-activate them all in the marketplace my library section. Any idea how to prevent this it is a real pain to have to go through and load all of them again. Thank you Anthony

Sim Soaring Club - AS33 Me - group flight Very nice video, with interesting comments for any of you willing to try soaring tasks in FS 2024. OFC the youtuber makes some really basic mistakes, crashing due to one of them... but even that is great since it's a way of learning about what not to do in mountain tasks, like spiraling in the mountain lift next to the ridge, as if it was a thermal in open space 🙂

Not sure if any sim setting changed, but on the first flight post the update it behaves as if the tire is blown, wheel chocks are on, brakes are on or something is obstructing the wheels. Unable to push or taxi, until I floor it on the throttle and then it behaves as if I was in South Central in a caddy with hydraulics. Anyone else?

For the last couple of weeks, I've had a weird issue with BATC. I don't use a mic, I use the menu system to communicate with ATC. I used to get an immediate response from the AI ATC (unless another aircraft was talking over me), now, I select my message but it takes a minute or two (or longer) for the message to go out. It then takes the AI folks in the tower just as long to respond to me. I still get ATIS right away but for any of the other ATC functions, it's just one delayed response after another. Any idea what the issue is?

PMDG 777.... seems to happen every time now. complete pushback process. but then its almost as if the tug is still connected and it wont let me steer. Try to reset GSX but it wont let me. End up having to quit and restart. This happen to anyone else? I have the latest versions of GSX and PMDG installed.

So, as life does, it pulled me away again so I watched FS2024 happen from a distance and JUST got back to having free time again. I basically wiped FS2020 and started a bit fresh other than the Aerosoft CRJ which I updated to the v2.1 version which is current. However, I've run into a couple of odd challenges. One I feel like is FS2024 and the other the CRJ (and likely both ME doing something idiotically wrong): 1. Is there no way to tell the sim to spawn the CRJ (or any plane) fully cold and dark any longer? Models version 1.5 is now available with a few more models and liveries. All updates are gratefullly welcomed but not sure if they have updated some of the models with pink textures in MSFS2024 (most of them seem to be small aircraft).

I set up my controllers for the Black Square B60 Duke. For this plane I have set the TM Hotas Warthog throttle with a profile called two engine prop and then escape and save. Should not that profile for the specific plane be stored between sessions ? Instead every time I load the Duke its TM throttle controller is set to another profile called My general plane profile. So I must go to settings and controllers and manually change the TM Throttle to the desired two engine prop profile. After esc and save it is only for the current session. Why ?

I haven't seen it mentioned here, but have you all noticed that the world contains accurate obstacles like radio and cell towers?

Whilst I guess there is a place for rrequests, I'm surprised that someone has not done something with Lands End which is just a collection of ofice blocks in MSFS. There are hundreds of pictures on the internet if someone has the model making skills to create a few buildings and dump them in the right places in somewhere that is a major landmark and tourist attraction. There is the hotel, the first and last house and a number of other buildings which would ceate something that resembled what lands End looks like in the real world. For the airport of course, the default (hand crafted) is decent and you have a really nice freeware addon created by the talented Supers…

Been contemplating picking up a more in depth but still somewhat retro helicopter for 2024 as it has great scenery to fly low and slow, the Taog ones seem to review and given they're on sale on on flightsim.to atm I might just add one or two to my hangar. It states compatible with 2024 but I'd be keen to hear people's thoughts on these, do you fly them in 2024, any caveats, shortcomings, preferences? Thanks
