Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

So I was wandering around YouTube today watching various tutorial videos and I noticed an inline ad for head tracking without hardware (other than your Android or Apple phone). Sounded too good to be true so I checked it out. Maybe some of you already know it and maybe not. It's amazing. You just install the Smoothtrack app on your phone (a mere $10) and the Opentrack app on your PC. You calibrate all the different head movement axies oj the PC in Opentrack. You just open Opentrack on the PC, set a few parameters (one time), calibrate it (one time), and start it. Than you open Smoothtrack on your phone, set some parameters (one time) and start it. Then…

This is the 3rd time this has happened for me since SU7 for me. I assume this is probably related to the MSFS servers in some way just checking if others are seeing this or not.

Just curious, picked up a few items from orbx central and went to install, it gave me 2 options, install in msfs folder or outside of folder. Just curious, is there any advantage with either or?

Afternoon one and all! I've just uploaded a 'live lesson' in the Citation CJ4, which I filmed with Leigh Ehrmann from flightsimcoach.com. We took a trip from La Mesa to Toncontin, to try the absolute beast which is the RNAV (AR) 02 approach. I did... not do all that well, but it doesn't matter, because you can learn just as much from me messing up the landing as you could if I'd flown it perfectly, if not more! 😉 Cheers, Filbert

The H145 is a fantastic heli. I like it better then the B407in Xplane my old favorite. Here is my 4 screen setup using AirManager for instruments. My cyclic has a 12" extension to make it more real and the collective is home made using a LeoBodnar board. There is an off field landing at 7:30. I love this heli and my sim setup.

Hi there, I have a simple question: why does MSFS look a lot less sharp and clear compared to previous sims such as P3D v5, when the same resolution is used in both? I know that I am not running 4K or anything near that, but at 1920 x 1080 the image looks fuzzier or coarser (I have no idea how to express that, but you might know what I mean) or as if the resolution was lower than it actually is. I have image scaling set to 100 or even up to 130 as long as my GTX 1070 Ti can do that, but that does not really change anything. I have all in game settings on ultra. Hi guys, If you installing a new Navigraph cycle should it be better to delete the ( thats my folder) c:\Users\******\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\SceneryIndexes *.* to let MSFS build a new one after Loading ? I allways delete the Content.xml so this gets new build after a new Navigraph cycle. cheers 😉

I've purchased every version of this sim since the Commodore 64 days. I have a memory before that of playing flight sim on my brothers Apple II computer with wire frame graphics and amber monitor.?? I used to have the time to work out the bugs, download countless files, scour the forums, make my own planes and panels etc., but I don't have that same time anymore and it would be nice if I could just log in and complete a flight. I put this sim on hold for a bit because I was getting the annoying CTD's. I have tried in vain to fly this thing. I get airborne, select AP, HSI, if there are waypoints, you can click on waypoint then sequence, but near the approach airport the plan tries to bank wildly. I admit, this is trial and error, as I really have no idea how to set the thing. Any ideas on how to fly the GPS route selected in FS?

I bought the Milviz Corsair yesterday and I've been having a problem navigating through the cockpit views. I can cycle through all the close-up cockpit views with the left and right hat switch commands, but when I try to return to the main panel view with the up hat switch command I get the close-up windscreen view, and I can't get out of it. I can switch to free look with the mouse scroll button which I've been using to fly the plane but the down hat switch command is a no go. I've deleted and re-downloaded it from the Content Manager but the problem persists. Has anyone else had this problem? Could it be that the plane needs to be updated to SU7 compliance, or…

There's a new update (on dev and 3rd party stores, it will get to the Marketplace one day) out for the T-45C Goshawk which (amongst other things) fixes the HUD so it's visible again in SU7 plus it now works with TAA anti-aliasing and most importantly looks to be properly collimated. As title says. I am not able to get the throttles to off position. Tried to make a few keyboard "shortcuts" but no luck. Anyone figured this out?

OK...I am flying along in the normal cockpit view...I want to end the flight and return to the Main Menu...How do I do that? The only answer I have received is to use Alt+F4, but that takes me entirely out of the program...It's driving me crazy! Assistance will be appreciated!

I didnt think the Reno races would be for me, but out of curiosity I checked it out on you tube and thought I will give it a go, so I bought the basic package ............OMG, I love it! The long time lover of steam gauges that I was, appreciate more and more a good glass cockpit and no doubt that the excellent Nxi serves well the Milviz Porter. It is a great help in hand flying this bird including visual approach in the boonies. Two questions : - An useful tool is the wind direction and strength thingie specially in a sim with a poor (understatement) weather UI. They show only when the aircraft is aloft and flying. Couldn't it work on the ground too ? I suppose that the data come from some aircraft sensors ? - There is no indication of airport altitude in nearest airports or other procedure tables. Hi, I have the issue that when flying on vatsim with vpilot that I cannot trasmit anything except I have clicked on my taskbar and have no interaction with MSFS anymore. This is annoying when you think you transmit something but it doesn't go over the line. What is this about? Has it something to do with vpilot or MSFS? How to solve it?
