Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

Sometimes the OVHD INTEG LT and FLOOD lights are not working for me and I have to fly with DOME Light, which is working. However I would like to fly with the INTEG lights, since it's much warmer and nicer. Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong? Because usually it works but sometimes it doesn't without me chaning anything on procedures or settings.

In the Pilot Profile, statistics are given in meters and seconds. This generates numbers so large they don't mean anything. Looks like they should be in miles or kilometers, and hours. Would be more meaningful. Roy

Hello, I bought MSFS in the microsoft store a year ago and now wanted to reinstall. It redirects me to xbox app for installation (which is already confusing to me since I am on a PC and bought a PC version). Anyways, the download always stops after 5 minutes of "preparing" with code "0x800700e7", which i already filed a ticket with but so far havent recieved any reaction because they seem to be very busy. google search told me to deactivate windows defender, check for windows updates and run sfc /scannow. i did all of that but still no luck so far. Any ideas are very welcome.

The only reason I posted this relates to a 3.2/5.0 for the Douglas DC-6 by PMDG. Found if very surprising out of 65 evaluations 40% gave it 1.0! 48% 5.0 8% 4.0 3% 3.0 2% 2.0 40% 1.0

I have been looking for an ultralight plane for some time and have been fairly unimpressed with the current options, so I was excited to see this little baby for sale. I watched a couple of reviews on YouTube and they all sounded really positive. However, after the honeymoon period of being really impressed with the graphics model and fantastic visibility from the cockpit, I began to get rather tired of trying to maintain some kind of cohesive flying. In my opinion this is really poor compared to how things are in the day. Most settings on high. Is it just me who is really unhappy with how things look at night? (from altitude). I don't know how to largen the image, but Manchester and Liverpool are a yellowy blur with the road lights of the motorway stopping abruptly before the blur. I know it's been like this for a while, I just thought there were improvements.

So tried all settings up to ultra, and its starting to really annoy me now. There is a gap between the trees and the water in flight, so as a hillside has trees and behind is a lake, you can see a bright white line around the tree tops. Anyone know why? Is it TAA? It can be forgotten about once above certain level, but i just can't understand what it is as I've never seen it ion a game before. I will try to get a pic at some point.

I mean c;mon, how spoiled are we the "flight simmers" these days? I've flown flight sims since the SubLogic days and the interaction between the studio and customer is incredible (UNHEARD OF IN FS until now!), yes they have a MASSIVE project going on and we are seemingly all in a test phase for years to come - but really what a team and the hard shell they must maintain for some in this community (I can get cranky at times too!). I had throttle mixture controlled by AI set on, but some planes the revs are high all the time and in the case of the spitfire it blows engine after 3 mins in the air. So i made it manual and i could at least turn down fuel mixture.. Is the fuel mixture what is causing high revs, or is there something else i am not getting?

Larger airports have potential for conflicts between the old default and the new airport scenery. Thought I'd try DirectX 12 on Windows 10 then upgrade to Windows 11 - gave me a c. 10% boost flying around Berlin (c. 30fps) and less tearing. Still not as fast as DirectX11 but getting usable. However, GPU usage is down below 10%, as low as 2% when at Tegel airfield ready for takeoff and only 5% over Berlin itself. I'm using a 3090 with latest Nvidia drivers, AMD 3800X, 32 GB RAM and 80 Mbps Internet connection. Vsync and HAGS are off. Any ideas welcome, and I'm happy to provide further information if required.

I went to the LatinVFR (now LVFR) site to buy KFLL on sale and saw this Static Aircraft bundle (not on sale but only $14.99) so I made an impulse buy. This has to be my best new package in a very long time. It places static aircraft at 300 airports around the world. (Nice zoomable map for locations). Nothing to configure. Click the download and install button at Contrail and it works. Adds military planes on KCOF Patrick AFB and KNKX Marimar Fightertown Marine Base, lots of 'em. This is the first sim that i have noticed have extremly short drawdistance on airport objects. Taxiway signs just appear like 20meters in front and other objects like parked cars, and animations you have to be realy close to see it. No settings make it better. Tried running it on ultra and 400 terrain Lod.

Anybody know the actual location where the sim stores its navdata? Like the raw data files? I do navdata as a day job - would like to poke around in Asobo/NavBlue's data files and add some approaches.

Hello, Haven't played in months because: I just tried to uninstall FS2020 (Steam purchase) and reinstall it after a long series of failures to launch (and Bill Gates insisting on my cell number). Now I have an almost deleted FS2020 that still thinks it's alive and invites me to play and then locks up when it asks me to sign in. I am at a loss as to how to proceed. I don't know how or if I should wipe the game completely from my PC. The only reason I want to get back into FS2020 is because I just saw that there is an F-104 available and that is just too much to pass on. If I knew how, I'd blow my present install out of the water and spend the money…

Jorg realized a few months ago that Asobo was in over their heads when it came to flight planning/navigation systems. Enter Working Title to get things sorted for Microsoft. I dare say we are now there with how weather is integrated into the sim. My understanding is that Meteoblue only feeds the raw data, but it is up to Asobo to integrate this data into the game. Proper weather integration I’m sure is complex and difficult, but SU7 has highlighted an almost comical regression of arguably one of the two marquee aspects of MSFS - weather, with the other being Bing satellite imagery. All of a sudden I can't take off. I have the honeycomb Yoke and Bravo Throttle Quad. I noticed that when I'm on the ground and test the control surfaces. When I pull back the elevator goes up and snaps right back to center. If I push in the elevator goes down and then snaps right back to center. checked the profile and everything seems to be ok. After flight start every time i try to go options menu game is crashing without any message. Have tried to run in safe mode, reinstalled but no help, always ctd when trying to go into option menu.
