Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

I'm about to pull the trigger on MSFS, finally. I intend to download the content within the sim via a different network at work which is lightyears faster than mine. I can't however bring my desktop PC, which is why the following is my plan: Install the base program on both my desktop flight sim PC and my laptop (Steam) Download the content within the sim to my laptop Move the downloaded content from laptop to desktop PC This would be done using an extra SSD solely for MSFS on my desktop PC, so it's not in the default Program Files directory. Had a nice flight near Cape Town, South Africa earlier, and was pleased to note that lumpy air seems to be a lot more evident than it was. I was really getting kicked around at one point, and it felt great. I’m hoping, and assuming, that SU8 has tweaked the weather and air dynamics. Either that or I got lucky, as pre-SU8 the turbulence was so benign as to be almost negligible.

Hello everyone, by reading different post, i notice that there are many problems when saving a flight and then trying to load it since when it loads the conditions are not the same as you saved it i.e. different cockpit information, no flight plan ect. I was flying my IFR low altitude with GPS and I tried to save my flight by simply hitting ESC and save (.file) but when I load it there was is no track whatsoever to follow, only the direction and altitude was correct but no flight plan. Is there a solution to this? are you also experiencing the same? I just want to be able to load my flight on the same conditions i saved it… Thanks!

I saw that CCM released a new mod for the MV Porter a couple days ago... I just got home from a trip tonight and was looking forward to trying it since it incorporated the new prop physics. I see all his mods are gone now though. I understand why, after what happened, and am not complaining that he chose to suspend them. But... is there anyone who maybe happened to download it before they got pulled, who might want to DM me? 😁 Not a big deal as the stock Porter flies great as-is... but CCM does good work and it would be fun to try this. After SU8 I can no more rotate the world map using mouse left button and dragging.-

I know this is on Asobo roadmap, but I cant help feeling frustrated that after being released for a 18 months, we still dont have an API that expose the weather to 3rd party devs. Just reading the progress on the Leonardo Maddog, we are starting to see more complex airliners coming in, and it is a shame that these guys still dont have access to weather data. So far from what I've read, it seems the Fenix guys figured something out, but Asobo I think it's really a shame you haven't put more focus on this.. anyways I will stop ranting but I am sure I am not the only one feeling that way! I see short blurbs about this and a video or two the last couple of days. Anybody have good information or experience? Perhaps it is free to try on your little device if you already own the PC version thru the MS store? Get the full lay of the land when deciding where you want to fly in MSFS and what interesting things are available to be seen along the way. You currently need to look across 8 different maps to see where everything is - learn the details over at my MSFS forum thread. If anyone knows of any additional maps and any additional independent developer/download sites (I discovered SimAddons thanks to a forum post here, I'm sure there are more out there) please let me know!

Hello, using the dev version, on my past few flights I find that the aircraft is not loading most of my flight plan, it only loads the STAR and I have to manually enter the rest. This is using a Simbrief flight plan. Simbrief is linked to my FBW install. My procedure is to load the simbrief plan in MSFS (for ATC) and then in the aircraft use the ATSU, go I to INIT, use INIT DATA REQ, then go to the INIT page enter the flight number. All other data appears properly except most of my flight plan. Any thoughts on what might be going on here? This issue would span a few dev versions. Thanks

Anyone know if MSFS is simulating wind gusts? Some of the area's I have been in the past couple days have been windy very windy and supposed to have some stout wind gusts according to metar reports. But from my observation I don't think I have been noticing the wind gusts please feel free to cross check my observation and correct me If I am wrong. I really hope they can iron this stuff out. When I left my FSX Gold decked out waaaaay to much with HIFI Sim. I think they finally had good weather and ground effect implemented. Since the SU8 i can no longer get the IFR clearance request from the tower. I use simbrief. What's the problem?

Thing that I noticed is that the G36 prop animation is spot on post SU8. Simming is just getting better and better. ns

There might be more to this story than we know at the moment but right now it appears that Flightsim.to have removed the CCM Twin Otter Flight Model mod from their site at the request of Aerosoft as they are claiming copyright over their config files and will not permit modification. As I say this might not be a completely accurate characterisation of the situation but at first glance this seems a completely ridiculous and petty move by Aerosoft to me, and I can't help suspecting is the result of being embarassed by the justified criticisms of the quality of the product they released.

Hi, anyone know why I cant get wing views to show up after playing an instance reply? I get the cockpit view, then when going to the camera record, there are other camera tracks, but I cant choose the wing views even though I have them.

I have just departed from my home airport CYYZ after installing the awesome FlyTampa scenery. Sitting at the gate in the A32NX I immediately saw icing forming on the cockpit window, I am using live weather and it is a clear cold day here in Toronto. Even though I have all the icing turned off in the settings I still see this, I was getting this before SU8 and was able to control it by turning the icing slider down in the developers menu and hitting "save" Now with SU8 I can turn the icing slider down and the windows clear but even though I hit save ice just builds right back up again and I cannot see to taxi and no matter what I do with de-icing in the aircraft…

Now that we have a real prop feather feature in a few planes, including the King Air, I am trying to figure out how to make it happen. I am using a CH Products Throttle Quadrant. Using the sim's control setup, I can't get the prop control to come all the way down into the feather position. Does anyone know how to do this? Thanks

It is a 10 year project Beta Flight Simulator Platform, whereby you pay to have access to it, and it is merely a curiosity. With each developer update over that stated 10 year outlook, you come back to it, after an update, and see what's fixed from the last update cycle, see what's now buggered, and then shut down, and move back to a more stable and mature flight simulator platform. For myself, at least, that would be P3D. With this latest SU8, that has again put my MSFS into a state of (on my system) in 'Buggered Mode', that's what I now again need to do....go back to a flight sim, that is stable, and I know will run and perform, without holding my breath while …

Yikes, looks pretty bad here out of YSSY just now and I had just been thinking clouds mysteriously had slowly improved some at least since SU7, but now it's gone the other way--I only have one flight in SU8 so far. What are others seeing?

After getting the large update a cpl of days ago, I was a bit surprised by the info about some other update that show up today. I was a bit too quick to press OK, so I did not check what it as. I think it said about 500mb , but the DL was instantly, like there was not update really. What could this have been?

I have been to update all services updates without any problem. Yet, SU8 installation is problematic to my setup. When I launch MSFS I am directed to MS Store and then to Gaming Services that seems requires to be updated. Yet when I click on the button to update it, I get an error with code 0x80070005. I have reset Gaming services and MS store but even so I cannot get the update. Does anyone please give me an hint on how to proceed? Thanks!

Hello there everyone! So I've now had the alpha india group softwares for a few days, and I am loving them, apart from 1 thing that is bothering me. The traffic variety is just way too high, to a point where there is sometimes more easyjet planes at EDDF than lufthansa, and honestly that just ruins the realism for me. By this I mean at every airport that I load in I see most of the airlines there that I have downloaded. Maybe I'm completely stupid and there's a simple setting/fix for this, but I have been unable to find it. I have about 30 flightplans downloaded, if that means anything, mostly of the main carriers in Europe. Thanks in advance for the answers!
