Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

I have lamented that blithering thing since Day 1 when I could not help but notice nearly every time the whirling dervish displays in the lower right corner of the screen a stutter occurred. The cure for me was turning Dev Mode on then off any time in a flight which stopped this annoyance, but at the cost of killing logging of flights in the pilot log. I am super stoked to say it's finally GONE!!!!!!!!! I put 3 zendesk tickets on this so pleased to see this is now completely gone!!!!!! Whoopee!!!!!!!

I believe I have read that some scenery designers forget to rename one of the files in the scenery folder that causes it to interfere with the traffic at other airports but I forget which file it is. Can anyone remind me? If that is the case, can I go through all my addon airports and change the names of the files concerned or is it a case of the designer having to recompile each of the sceneries? Thanks to anyone who may be able to help with this.

This feature may change the installation path of your sim and in my case required a re-installation of the digital ownership package for FS2020 before the sim will start. I've got this weird issue where every 2-3 seconds my view seems to look off the side and swing back to Home position. When I open the Camera dialogue, the TrackIR switch is constantly flickering on and off. What the? Appreciate any thoughts

When planning a flight, what resource would you recommend to give me the altitudes that the cloud layers are along my flight plan? I fly the PMDG DC6 (almost exclusively) and typically fly between 10 and 20 thousand feet. I use fltplan.com to get the winds aloft but I cant seem to find a resource for cloud altitudes. I decided to start another NeoFly career, and decided that Key West would be my new area. That allows me fly the Florida Keys, the Everglades, to Tampa /Miami / Daytona, hop to Cuba - fly from Cuba to Central America, hop to the Caribbean - island hop from Caribbean to South America. I already own FSDT's Key West, which is awesome. AIG Traffic has American Airlines working in and out of there, which is cool. A fair amount of corporate traffic too. What does this button do?

I had some windows 10 problems and by consequence I unsintalled MSFS and reinstalled W10. When I try now to reinstall MSFS I get many problems and after 3 days trying and applying all the fixes I can find I cannot install it. I use MSstore version. It is in my library. I select MicrosoftFlight Simulator Premium DeLuxe edition to install from Xbox. I see 1.2 GB downloada but it gives error code 0x803fb107 saying "One or more items in this bundle didn]t install yet. We will keep trying. You can also try installing them from Downloads and updates". New PC New I9-12900KF + 3080 + Gsync monitor 165.144,120,and 60 Hrz. I know there are ton of post here discussing what to use for settings but I cant seem to figure it out. Some say MSFS vsync off, others on, use frame rate limiter in NVDA panel. If I turn on vsync in MSFS to 30 frame rates are up to 50? It will hold 60 in some areas but not always. On the FBW 320 there is a hard RED line every once in while when DEV mode on. Does not do it on other aircraft. Does anyone know what this is or how to fix? Any ideas?

The last landing I made was at LAX, so I tried going out of there again, and got an unusual result, four times using three different default aircraft. I loaded up with the gauges showing, as though I was in the exterior view, even though I was in the cockpit. And I had objectives showing in the top right guiding me to release the brakes, apply throttle and so on. So I flew over to Santa Monica a few miles away, and it still acted as though I was using the objectives to get me down. I just stopped the aircraft and exited the program. Now i might have become too spoiled by the great graphics of MSFS, but I havent seen anyone else have the same blurry night lights that i have. (see pic) I have all settings on ultra and terrain level of detail set to 200. Is this something that only I see, or is it a common problem? Closer to the ground I see it more clearly, but on cruise its almost like its not loading in properly. Any help is appreciated 🙂

Hi, I have loaded the rather excellent freeware Gatwick but have experienced a number of strange issues with the AI and am not sure if the AI is broken or if it is the airport? 1. Aircraft were landing on both 08R and 08L (where 08R should be the only runway in use as 08L is the emergency runway) 2. As an aircraft was coming in to land, the next in the queue for take off was given clearance and pulled onto the runway, so both planes merged together as one landed. 3. The Aircraft that was given clearance to take off got stuck on the runway and just sat there. 4. My aircraft was then given clearance to take off, even though the one in front was stil…

Ever since SU8 I seem to have some sort of motion blur effect when I look around with TrackIR. In the past things stayed razor sharp when looking around but now there seems to be some sort of sluggish blur effect. For instance in the Kodiak the numbers on the G1000 become unreadable whenever I move my head. It's a bit like the trailing effect you may see on cheap television during a soccer game. Performance itself is stellar and superb when I sit still but this blur effect makes things look a bit sluggish. Disappointing. I am using G-Sync on a 1440p monitor. V-sync off in MSFS. And yes, the motion blur effect is off too. Anyone else noticing the same? EDIT …

Just updated to SU8 and now in several aircraft (stock and aftermarket) there is this strange random noise that sounds like a vacuum cleaner inside the cockpit. Starts off loud then "spools down" and then goes away form a few minutes then repeats. Has anyone else heard this or is it time for me to regret the questionable chemical choices I made decades ago? 🙄

Hi all, I read some instructions here and there on the web but still not getting any luck getting any of the lights to work for example the gear light and other lights on the bravo for throttle with Microsoft light simulator 2020. Can anybody help me fix this issue? I installed software from the honeycomb website too Thanks

Lots of you will already be aware of this one, but with the influx of AIG/Simple Traffic users perhaps this will help.. ATC permanently calling for so and so to "Expedite your climb" made it virtually unusable with so much traffic. Also the endless "turn next taxiway" was another pain in the backside.
