  2. Just watched this on YouTube purely because it mentioned “ultra graphics”, and “3090”, and I wanted to see how good it looked. I really wasn’t expecting to enjoy it, especially as I never fly the big stuff. But it grabbed me right to the end. Definitely the best video I have seen to date. Some superb camera work in there:

How to extract or request the Runway Data (Latitude, Longitude, Altitude) via SimConnect? I am working on a project about using MSFS2020 for visualization for the Flight Simulator in the lab at my university. And I want to extract the Runway Data to send them to the Route Planner of the simulator in the lab. In MSFS SDK, it is explained how to create new airport or runway through the Developer Mode, but it is not mentioned how to extract their data.

Wow, even with my PC specs at lax I was getting 13 frames with external view on the default 747 and 787.. those most be some crazy models... Back in the cockpit I would get 22 to 25 frames.

  5. Cloud gaming could literally change the future of the sector. Now there is the official Xbox Cloud Gaming that gives the possibility to play everywhere and with almost all the devices. Is there any possibility to use the mods (so, having the access to community folder)? i think no, but in the future? There are other services that give you the possibility to play on cloud (Parsec, Nvidia...) but i don't know if it is possible to install mods.

  6. Good day, Regarding the latest update after I set and save REACTIVITY to 80% and restart MSFS for some reason it will not hold that setting, it defaults to 100%. Is it something wrong on my end or it's something with this update? How can I fix it? Thanks

  7. Since SU8, I’ve noticed that ATC is very slow to react to my flight. On several occasions, I’ve heard them refer to me as being 2 miles (or more) out, when, in fact, I’ve already got my wheels on the tarmac. And it’s not as if I’m flying a fast jet that’s tricky to keep on top off, nine times out of ten I’ll be in a microlight which, in a decent headwind, can take an eternity to land. I took on a little bush flight yesterday, and had touched down, spun my plane around and took off again. Not until I was airborne and about a mile away did ATC announce that I was 2 miles away and coming in. It’s so far behind events that it is ridiculous. I know it’s always been ja…

Hi folks. I recently installed AIG and downloaded everything it had to offer. Now I have installed PSXT and Real Traffic. When I first opened Real Traffic, it told me my AIRAC version was old and out of date. I have a subscription to Navigraph so I opened the Navigraph Navdata Center app and upgraded everything. That app tells me that my sim now has the latest data installed, but Real Traffic is still telling me that I have the old cycle and not the new one I just installed. Can someone tell me what I'm missing here in order for Real Traffic to see the new AIRAC data I just installed? Thanks.

  9. This worked fine for a long time for me but over the past many months usually it's directing me well right of where the stopping position is supposed to be relative to the marshal's position, and markings, and jetway as appropriate. Since day one the plane never flies on the magenta line, and by golly it always did in FSX/P3D, and sometimes I'm a half mile off that track, and this IS NOT from offsetting wind vectors near as I can tell. This means VNAV auto descend at ToD does not work in the 787-X which is mostly all I'm flying these days.

  11. I was totally unaware that a KC-10 and eventually a DC-10 were currently under development. Absolutely love the looks of the DC-10 (and why not its military variant), and was surprised not to find a single thread on those here at AVsim. More info here: https://msfsaddons.com/2022/02/27/aero-dynamics-updates-on-kc-10-dc-10-development-for-msfs/ When and if those birds are ever finished to a highly-detailed standard they could very well become top of the list among my fav rides in msfs. Certainly wishing the dev team Godspeed on those two 😛 Cheers, 2Low2Slow

  13. Hi there, This month's NOTAM (the last of the 4-notam-series) centers around updates to features such as CPDLC, stored waypoints, font design, and a sneak peek at flypadOS v3. We also talk about some of our other FBW projects and how to contribute. Read on below! https://flybywiresim.com/notams/features-and-projects/ Additionally we have a little surprise for all of our pilots who prefer to fly in the first officer's seat. Now on the Development Version.

  14. I have been experiencing a weirdiness with engine sounds, inside or outside of the cockpit when after a session in the Reno Air Races I return to the main MFS GUI, go to options and disable "Multiplayer" and then create a new flight using the World Map. When the situation loads I am inside of the aircraft but most of the sounds, including the engine sounds, are gone. Leaving MFS and then restarting it brings back all sounds, but it's kind of weird why that is happening. I only noticed it with SU8, and I hadn't used the Reno Air Races for quite a while. Any of you experiencing the same ?

  18. I just published my review of Toronto Pearson for Microsoft Flight Simulator by FlyTampa. It took a while, but I've had to do some pretty extensive research to really see how far this one goes. I hope it's useful to get the full picture and there's plenty of video content for those who prefer to make their own judgment. https://twinfinite.net/2022/03/microsoft-flight-simulator-toronto-airport-review-cyyz/ The TLDR is that FlyTampa is as usual at the top of the industry in terms of craft. Textures, modeling, weathering, PBR, and optimization are all top notch, and if you want an airport that looks really stellar, it's easy to recommend this one. Yet, there …

If I'm not mistaken https://skyvector.com/ can help you plan a route between two airports however you still need to find specific SID and Star/Approach charts? A few questions. Is Sky Vector and MSFS in sync? Secondly other than Navigraph is there a good place to get Charts without having to try finding each specific authority who owns the charts. I've found https://chartfox.org/ which is so far the best place. I'm just wondering if there's anything else out there. I fly once or twice a week at most sometimes not at all so can't justify the cost of a Navigraph membership I've found these tools but easier to use Sim Brief as they don't include SID …

I am still experiencing issues with my throttle when used on the Hawk T1 following the latest update. Previously, as with most of my other planes my Thrustmaster Hotas Throttle was bound to the T1 Hawk via FSUIPC to the throttle axis, and all worked fine. Now it is moving to full power and then 'automatically' going back to idle, and it is only with further movement of the throttle that I get it to re-engage, the bottom line is that I am no longer in control of my thrust with my throttle. I posted on this subject before, and someone kindly suggested that I now needed to bind the throttle to throttle axis 1 - this I have tried, both using FSUIPC and the MSFS control o…

  25. The latter was, without doubt, a monumental failure at time of release and I don't ever recall it becoming "good" in all my years of playing Elite Dangerous. A quick scour of the forums over there and it's still not being received very well at all, something the Devs dreamed big of but seemingly it crashed & burned. So with the Reno Air Races, will they follow CQC and barely take off? Not being familiar with this Sport I know nothing of its possible potential, it has peeked my interest purely from my background of car racing though so it is something I may purchase along the way. But my fear is will the Races be dead 2 months after release? Will it grow into…
