Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

I can hear Windows audio from my front jack and rear 3.5mm. I can hear it in other apps like Chrome for Youtube, I can hear audio in MSFS main menu... I can even hear the clicks of the TDS GTN Xi when I'm in the aircraft, but I cannot hear anything else. I've never seen this before. Windows 11. Drivers up to date (Realtek audio). No exclamation points in Device Manager. I've also tried all those sound ouputs on the list. I tried logging in and playing some online races during the last couple days, and tried it some weeks ago too, but there's nobody around to race with ? I believe the tittle success will probably give MS a sign of what the great majority of MFS users want from the game, although I admit I am fond of air races ... although not with the flight dynamics that are presently available for the different aircraft. Also, for such a tittle, having an online Lobby List would be useful...

hi, I seem to have a new issue with freelook. After pressing right click it does not leave Freelook mode. Any help? If i use lock mode then controls do not work.

Like many, I turned 'EyeAdaption' off in the UserCfg.opt file - mine has been off for over a year. I just turned it back on and was pleasantly surprised at the effect. The much brighter clouds looked more realistic to me plus the ground lighting looked better. One thing that frustrated me was the overly dark cloud shadows when everything else looked ok, but with EyeAdaption back on the cloud shadows look better. If your EyeAdaption has been off for a while, it may be worth turning it back on - give it a little time for you to adjust to see if you prefer the effect. Just saw this news item on FSelite. I’m super excited about this one but one thing I want to know is if it will fix the problem of disappearing cars. The road traffic only persists for a few seconds and if you watch any car it disappears too quickly spoiling the immersion. They should persist longer at least for folks that have beefy systems.

I know others wanted to get rid of the pop up that comes after you shut down the plane, but I'd like to get it to happen once again and don't know how to do it! I assumed it was under Assistance > User Experience > End Flight after shutdown or something like that, however both On or Off on that setting does not restore function. I'm recently getting flights logged again as I'm not opening Dev Mode now that the white spinner isn't displaying in the lower right part of the screen w/ SU8. Thanks in advance

On some GA airports I see quite a lot of small airplanes with a FS (Flight Simulator) logo on their liveries. Is this new since SU8? I have not seen this before. What I know for sure, that I don't like it because those liveries don't exist in reality and I know already that I'm using a flight simulator. No need to remember me ... Is it possible to get rid of it without loosing GA a/c on airports?

Hi! I've emptied the community folder completly and I've have no rolling cash and no Google Maps addon, but I recently got those dreadful spikes in some places. I'll guess I've seen them occasionally in USA and Europe for a couple of weeks now so I don't think it's a SU8 thing. Like many users, I've had those spikes early on, but I thought it was a thing of the past. Is there anything on my side or is it a "Microsoft server" thing?

Hi everyone, First off, I know this has a million threads about, but I am having trouble finding any solution. I have just bought a new PC (i7 12700KF 3.6 Ghz, not overclocked, RTX 3070, 16GB RAM, 1TB SSD, 650 PSU), I finally finished installing the sim yesterday after about 24 hours, and immediately after loading it up, I was getting CTDs. The trend was that it'd freeze for about 3 seconds, then the screen would go black, and immediately crash. Sometimes I can load up a flight, but then after a few mins, it'll freeze and then quit. Hi all, long time lurker here and first time posting... I got into flight simming with Sublogic's Flight Simulator II on my beloved Commodore 64 and then Flight Unlimited on PC before I stepped away. Hi all, Does anyone know of any current or expected add on that will show passengers embarking, sitting and disembarking aircraft? I like to see, at the end of a flight, the baggage being unloaded, etc. But I'm always disappointed by the seemingly empty aircraft! Cheers all and have a great weekend. Dan

G'day everyone, I've had custom camera views setup for ages so that, for example, I can switch to looking at an overhead panel by pressing "8" on the numpad. Since the last update pressing the keyboard presets causes the view to start to change, then snap back to where it was. This can happen several times before it "gives up" and lets me see what I want to see. Very frustrating and I wonder if anyone else has had the issue? Cheers Warwick

At about 57:30 of Q&A we hear a discussion where Jorg waves his hands and jumps in to say 'without announcing what the plane is, but we have a local legend that is more than that', referring to number of engines more than 6 or 8. So what local legend is going to have so many engines? I have not a clue what plane could be called a beloved legend in an upcoming WU location with more than 8 engines?

I assume that differing aircraft make differing demands on CPU and GPU performance, which, in turn, affects the quality and performance of ground scenery passing underneath. My question is: Which aircraft allow best ground-scenery performance?

Hi, I am finding I have an issue when using my logitech yoke, this was happening before SU8. I always leave my yoke plugged int to the PC and when I begin a new flight, I find the controls do not seem calibrated and the onscreen yokes in the aircraft respond in the opposite way. For example, if I turn left, the plane will bank to the left but the onscreen yokes turn right. This has happened in a number of aircraft If I return my yoke to the centre position, the onscreen yokes return but are off centre, so it appears the calibraton is lost. If I pause the game. unplug my yoke and replug, the yoke appears to calibrate as it then seems a lot more precise …
