Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

My life doesn't revolve around flight sim but it seems to me that it does for some. Why? Is it just a way for some to detach from reality? But is it something else? Personality I luv MSFS and if I could live my it life it would be in flight simulation fr good or bad. Just wondering if I need to see a phsycholigist. sp

As I understand it snow cover on roads/runways was supposed to be addressed (removed) in the current avionics beta but mine still seems to be in full effect...has anyone else seen this?

Just received the Aerosoft Twin Otter update 1.1.0 today (using Aerosoft One). It includes the new soundset. My first impression is that it is way better than before. So far I like what I am hearing while flying now!

When I first installed MSFS, I setup my flight yoke, throttle quadrant and rudder pedals, and continued to use their respective profiles for some time (v01). Yesterday I made several sensitivity changes to the ailerons and elevators, and saved the flight yoke settings under a new name (v02) for an easy back-out in case of problems. However, things did not work as planned as follows: I made the changes for the flight yoke settings, saved the changes as v02 and started a flight. Not sure if there is a graphics setting that can improve this, but does anyone else notice clouds sometimes have a sort of textured and shimmery look to them? Almost seems like it's trying to sharpen them, but they should be fluffy and soft. See here: https://postimg.cc/fJftsdKc

Hi all since the last update I have been noticing while travelling west at over 30000 ft that I am getting a long 6 second pause in the sim.I I have notice this occurring in an area south of kslc. near waypoints PROMT and between GGAAP and MNCIN. I also noticed that when this occurs my gpu goes to zero and my data download also stops for the same time frame. The sim immediately after the pause goes back to normal. Could this be as a result of MSFS switching a server connection for the data download at this location? Just seems weird that this happens at the same location area. Anyone else seeing this. I wonder if its an addon? Thanks Don

Apart from loading times, is there any real benefit to keeping a lean Community folder, i.e., unloading what you don't need/adding what you do before you fly? I have been doing this for the past month and have since not had any CTD's. Not sure if it's placebo or not, but its a PITA. Wondering whether anyone else does this.

I used GSX back in the other sim a few years ago and really liked it. In MSFS, I fly primarily with the Fenix and am happy with the default pushback but am interested in better looking features of GSX. I have a few questions for you all since it has been a while. 1) Do I need a GSX profile for every airport? I see there are profiles out there so I am not sure what that would be for since i never used GSX profiles in previous sims. I'd be needing to download so many since I have a ton of 3rd party airports 2) Are there any realistic sounding voice files out there other than default? As the title suggest, there is a bummer I discovered with the new and awesome avionics G5000 update. As the current iteration exists, us users are able to create user waypoints, but the current issue is that it won't save them for later use. For example: I wanted to fly into KASE (Aspen) today but the minimums were lower than the LOC-DME approach allowed. I did some research and learned that there is actually a published RNP (AR) approach into KASE that allows you to go down to about ~300 feet. This got me all excited and I fired up the sim to program the box with respective waypoints only to learn that the approach isn't even supported by Navigraph data. No big deal, I t…

So, I am flying around up in British Columbia checking out the lighthouses. Most of the ones with helipads have a fixed wing ai on the helipad. Is this a shortcoming of the scenery or the aircraft? It would be nice if it were unoccupied so that I could land a heli there. I know you can land there anyway but it feels silly landing on and through an aircraft. LouP

My issue was that i wanted one device that gave me everything, so no Yoke+Pedals+Thrust lever. Hello. Does anyone know if a flight can be saved when using multiple screens so that when it loads all the screens come out with the instruments undocked and you don't have to undock them every time you start a flight?

I just started using MSFS Addon Linker and wish I had started sooner. Makes managing the Community folder manageable especially for scenery. The question I have is about the ICAO column that appears on the initial panel. Is it possible to enter the ICAO identifier into that column for sceneries that have it missing? Thanks ... Richard

I have just assembled the MFG rudder pedals… i took things apart to do the damper mod going down the center. Im wondering a few things: When i take my feet off the pedals (using cessna pedals), they dont quite return to center even at lower damper settings… i’ve tried playing with the left side spring adjustments too. Its visible in the sim, you can see the rudder is slightly off centered. (mechanically off center) Is this normal real world behavior, guessing not especially when flying… whats the physical fix or if none, should i just set a deadzone in the mfg software of 80% or should i set it in MSFS, pros and cons of doing in the mfg software vs msfs? …

Hey everyone, Since the last update with avionics, I've been finding the longitude seems to have almost no ground effect and the flight model requires a lot of thrust and higher aoa than seems like it should. I'm flying with proper cog and weight distributions and flying stable approaches between vref and vap. Did something change with the flight model and is there any way to tweak the ground effect in the flight_model.cfg file? I see the line entry for it but playing with the numbers doesn't seem to make an appreciable difference at all.

Does flightsim have to be running when i run the rex accuseason program?

I'm looking to fly with offline ATC but not sure which out of those 2 offer the more realistic and complete package? I fly mostly tubeliners like the Fenix A320, PMDG 737, etc. with FSLTL AI traffic and might be purchasing GSX PRO later down the line. Would love to have a full fledged offline ATC addon that will seamlessly integrate and play well with those addons.
