Looking at the Wishlist for MSFS2020 got me wondering if MS/Asobo are using the release of MSFS2024 as the opportunity to provide a simulator without Meteoblue or at least a modified contract to allow for the 3rd Party WRITE Access for the Weather. Since 2024 is a new title I would assume that new contracts would have to be established and this could allow MS/Asobo to pull in the proper 3rd parties to build the code to properly provide weather systems and the supporting radar data APIs (Wishlist #01 and #04 as of 6/8/23), without having their hands tied with a contract built for MSFS2020. MODS: If this has already been stated in one of the thousands of MSFS20…

  6. Hi all, wondering if I'm potentially misunderstanding something here. I've been using the Black Square Bonanza a lot and I really love it. I just tried out the Milviz 310R and I can immediatrly see the EDM-700 is a very shallow simulation vs the black square, but what about the output HP? At 1000ft AGL with the mixture producing peak RPM, both engines show 60bhp. Surely this isn't correct? Am I getting something wrong, or is this just a meaningless graphical gloss? If so, it probably means the 310R is a no go for me. I've got too used to Black Squares deep engine simulation!

  8. I posed this question at the end of a reply in the MSFS 2024 core features thread but will try again w/ fresh focus on the question. When MSFS launched ATC frequently would vector you into mountains, yo-yo you where possible with frequent calls to change altitudes where it didn't seem to fit conditions. My sense now is those two aspects have improved substantially though still need tuning. I'm not happy at all w/ the male voice who is a co-pilot that is called up when you select AI Radio Communications--he sounds likes he's overly excited that he's able to read a script and just sounds like no other RW pilot I can imagine. The female pilot voice at least sounds som…

  10. Interesting to read Dudley Henriques' post on https://a2asimulations.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=73975 .. they've been lauding their new revamped accu-sim framework lately (and quite frankly seem very excited about it as seen on the other thread https://a2asimulations.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=73656&start=225) as they gear up for the Comanche going into beta, but they've have not gone into too much details of how it all works as a framework that sits atop the MSFS framework. He speaks of their "own flight model" so I'd be very interested to know how that works since from all what I've understood so far it's impossible to have aircrafts use flight model…

Yesterday I had the typical experience of a simmer with a lowish hardware and internet environment. I wanted to check the Nîmes arena and Maison Carrée. I couldn't because the flow of data was not enough. No PG allowed 😃 ! I went to glorious Scotland and flew from my old base in P3D in Plockton to the splendid Eilean Donan Castle and here it was ! I suppose that PG being a semi-industrialized process is less costly for MS to add stuff ? But at the end of the day, what I can enjoy are the handcrafted landmarks ! Could we say that PG is overrated or rather not ready for prime time ?

Hello all, I'm currently in flight training with a Cessna 172N that has analog gauges and a Garmin GNS530. I was hoping to be able to practice on MSFS 2020 but I prefer to use a plane that closely matches my real world trainer. I did get the GNS530 addon for the stock Cessna 172SP but I really want a Cessna 172N. Is there any payware or freeware Cessna 172N that is compatible with MSFS 2020? I wonder if the Carenado C172N can be used with MSFS 2020. I've been out of the scene for so long, that I really have no idea what's popular, and what's not. Thanks in advance for any tips and help.

  15. After 2 weeks of a lot of heat outside I started up both pc’s and both updated MSFS to 1.33.8.0 and the NVidia drives to 536.23. With my 40 series cards I use Franerafe Generation enabled and it is working. My displays are running at 60 hertz. What I want it that I have MSFS running at 30 fps which is doubled by FRG. Using 50% Vsync in MSFS + FRG works fine. However, to eliminate small jitters happening sometimes in heavy scenery I wanted to test with : Vsync Off in MSFS and use NVCP to do this. But it seems like NVCP has no influence on the franerate. I even set max FPS to 30 (for testing) and used Adaptive. Displays running at 60 hertz. An…

Not sure if this is the right forum to address this, but when I try to launch the sim, I get a notice "Insert MSFS CD in drive..". But the CD is in the drive. So I eject, clean and re-insert it, and it seems that the PC is attempting to read the CD, but it never loads. I quit the sim and start over, same result. Any ideas of what is the problem. Maybe a bad CD drive. If I bought an external CD drive, would this solve the problem??

  17. Given what we've been able to glean from the first trailer and the tidbits we've since heard from MS/Asobo, I thought it'd be useful to start a separate thread to talk about what is being improved in MSFS 2024, especially core sim wise (also because the announce thread has become unwieldy lol) Apart from the trailer let's also note Matt Booty's (head of MS/XB studios) comments the day after here: https://youtu.be/ZszOBVoREVg?t=8535 where he said the team felt that various improvements were big enough to warrant a new release. And then he specifically mentions graphics, weather, and flight dynamics as areas that received big improvements. He also says that the tornado i…

  18. Without much fanfare, not even on their forum which seems a little odd. Anyway, my home city's airport, ORBX, have released Melbourne Tullamarine for purchase. This was my home base for 11 years with my former airline and now again with my new employer, needless to say, I know this airport very well. Already purchased and ready to check it all out, will report further 🙂 https://orbxdirect.com/product/ymml-msfs

I just got notified that the RV14 has been updated.. no indication of what was changed. I tried the download, notice that the right hand G3X screen now shows a map rather than a copy of the PFD.. But to my surprise, the standby indicator on the left still has a broken speed readout. I fixed this months ago on my system, but if you run into this and need a fix, contact me.

Hey guys, flew into KLAS just now (and last nigh too).. the winds were really strong... 29 gusting to 38! I, wondering what the max crosswind for the A320 is before you need to go around or fly to the alternate? As soon as i disconnected the AP at 500ft, the crabbing needed was unreal! ( Curious also if others disconnect at 500 feet or before) Very challenging! I would have hated to be a passenger on my flight ! LOL Cheers

  22. My PC/Win 11/MSFS have been cooperating and working darn near perfectly for a while now. I see a steady 30fps in all but heavy city flying, e.g. San Diego, LA, Seattle. I have lots of wonderful addons that greatly enhance the experience. VR is even working smoothly now. Using Map Enhancement makes flying over the Sierra Nevada at 2000' AGL a treat for the eyes. And... then Frozen Screen and eventually CTD - after several dozen hours flying almost identical routes and equipment. Nothing new but a CTD! I had been flying along at 16,000' in the C414aw running along the highest ridgelines of the Sierra - had been up there for over an hour just enjoying the fluf…

I have an overall very good performance, in the departure airport, climbing and cruising but when descending to the destination airport usually between 10.000 and 5.000 feet the sim freezes for a couple of seconds. After that it recovers back. I've tried several tests to track this problem, new drivers, empty community folder, low settings but nothing that I've done has solve it. I'm running an 5800X3D, RTX3080, 64GB RAM PC. Do you have any ideas to share for me to track down what's going on? Thank you!

I use the VFRMaps which I find very useful and easy to use. https://www.msfsaddons.org/freeware/plugin-vfrmap Unfortunately there is an issue with the Heading - this has been raised on the VFRMaps Github site but no action taken. I'm wondering if this software is still support? Is it possible to contact the author? Thanks
