Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

I bought the msfs premium deluxe via steam. I installed the installer. Now I'm trying to install the sim and I get that title page and the music playing. However, its not showing me an indicator of how much progress my installation is making? Is that normal or did the download hang? On steam it says it is running, but I have no indication if this download is progressing or not and its been over an hour. Is it normal not to be able to see the download progressing?

Just wondering if anyone has used or is using this program and what their experiences and thoughts are. Basically it includes a system optimiser and a game booster. Since I have heard of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 coming out I have been holding off on payware although I have bought a couple of planes. I thought I read somewhere that MSFS 2020 planes will be compatible with MSFS 2024 could someone confirm this information. If so I will continue buying payware planes till then. Also what scares me is good payware planes are just now starting to roll out for MSFS 2020. Happy Landings

Live weather is down (again), this and the ridiculous download speeds make the MSFS online services horrible.

I've wanted for quite some time to put together a video that encompasses the same techniques that are employed in general film making, such as a juxtaposition of different shots to tell a story. G'day all, wondering if anybody else is having the same Caravan problems I am facing. Basically I love landing challenges - as a good landing is the mark of a good pilot - now what I am finding is all the Caravan landing challenges have become problematic in that as soon as the challenge loads the power winds back to zero & I have essentially got a forced landing on my hands - can get it onto the strip in Serena station (even got a B once) - managed to land it on a road into Bakersfield - but I just give up on Lukla!! ..after that long time of development from the FBW team those annoying pauses from 1 to 5 seconds at flights with the A320 ?? ( Using the last and now the newest Dev. Build ) My settings are moderate and not excessively high . It seems to me that it often happens between 10,000-13,000 feet altitude and that happened 3 times with 1-3 seconds, recently it was also 5 seconds often seen at decent and short before touchdown my runway. I was wondering if the FSHud users out there are experiencing any sound issues? Mine was working but not I am getting not sound. I have the correct sound output picked in settings. FSHud sometimes shows COM1---Off? It is on in the plane. Also using the TDS GTN 750.. Any help apprecitated.

Over the past three years I have installed various addons to 'improve' the look of MSFS. I installed ReShade to get the colours more realistic to me. I used the Map replacement tool for crisper textures. I used MSAfterburner/RivaTuner to restrict FPS to 34 for smoothness. I installed SU14 beta at release, but shortly after MSFS started playing up - wouldn't load, CTDs and freezes in the game. At the same time my PC started playing up. Now that my "career" in APL will be taking me up over the Northern Atlantic and in some cases over the Arctic circle, I'm wondering has anyone tried out the Aurora Borealis add-on I saw in the marketplace? Is it worth a purchase or does it look a bit naff? With the coefficients changing recently it might be a good time to test it out.

Regularly, when I hover the curso over a button on the flight deck it turns into an up and down arrow and I can't click the button. I have to zoom in so the up and down arrow disappears and the normal cursor returns. Any idea how I can stop this happening?

Okay, I have conducted two flights in MSFS since updating to SU13, one last night and one tonight. In both cases, MSFS crashed to desktop mid-flight after about two hours of flying. In Event Viewer, the fault was listed as MoAppCrash. Before SU13, I have not had a CTD of any kind in many months, and even then it was rare. I have done a Windows diagnostics and system scan/restore, but it made no difference. I don't have any new addons installed or any new freeware. In fact, I am running very little freeware, just FSLTL and the mamudesign marinas freeware. I have also updated my FSLTL to the latest as of tonight, but this crash happened last night before I updated FSLTL. MS…
