Hello all, I posed this question on another topic regarding a usb pan switch. During set up, which I, personally have found to be a nightmare, with rewards comensurate with the amount of frustration, work and figuring it all out, I note that the pan speed is relative to the reflexes of a startled gazzelle. I posed a query on how to slow that down and then found my answer in camera.cfg (located in .. Drive letter/WpSystem/s-......../AppData/Local/Packages/MicrosoftFlightSimulator/local Cache/CAMERAS.CFG) Please note that this depends on where you install the sim and some paths will differ. I scrolled down to the PitchPanRate and changed that (eventually) fr…

With MS backing, on release, I really thought this sim would be highly polished with a few rough edges. Seems reversed; highly rough edged with bits that are highly polished. Stutters, blurry, traffic, ATC, landmarks, weather, frame rate, controls, tweaking; the complaints so familiar it hurts. Calgon, take me away.

I'm not having much success with 2020. I'm running a 4K monitor and I know that has some impact, but blimey, I fail to see why my GPU is stuck at 100% load most of the time. Trying top get smooth performance with frames above 30 is proving a trial. Settings are set at high, with many options switched off. Has anyone any idea why my GPU, especially a 1080ti, is loading out like this?

So for any GA pilots out there sitting on the fence because of the small number of handcrafted airports, I have just gotten started with MSFS after a system failure and new build. So my first entry into MSFS was to position myself on a runway where I could get an overall view of my most frequented airports. This screen capture is sitting at Rwy 35 at KBMG, Bloomington, Indiana, USA, an airport for which I created an FSX/P3D addon, working through a learning curve in ADE. This MSFS depiction brought tears to my eyes. Not perfect. But highly representative. The tower and those strange overly tall hangars do not match, but the overall character is excellent. The hangar…

I'm trying to install the liveries from the latest megapack, and for the life of me, I cannot get them to show up in my sim. I've followed the instructions the video tutorials, and I think I placed them in the right spot, but to no avail. I've also turned on developer mode to make sure the sim is searching in the right folder, and it appears that it is. I believe the problem lies with where I installed Flight sim. I have it on another drive than the default location (see below) but breakdown is here: D:/ > WPSystem > S-1-5-21-XXX > AppData > Local > Packages > Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8weky[etc] > Local Cache > Packages > Community >…

  6. I've pretty much found the right settings for my GPU/CPU/system whereby I'm getting a consistent 30/40fps with no stutters in the Airliners, higher in the GA aircraft The scenery in VFR/IFR is what I'm after. Most settings are Ultra/High. Having said this, the PFD/ND and radio frequency digits could be sharper and more pronounced. Can some point me to which graphics settings I should tweak to achieve this. Steve

Hi All. Slightly off topic but bear with me. I'm planning on (probably along with a lot of people) having a bimble around the World; this sim has inspired me to experience the world in all it's glory. My wife suggested that I should Youtube it but I'm not sure what the your thoughts are? I realise that watching a full 2hr flight might not be the most exciting thing to watch in the world and thinking that either a Youtube video with highlights from the leg or a blog with pictures might be the best? If I go the Youtube route, what capture software do people recommend? I'm planning on flying the Diamond DA-60 on mostly VFR flights from 70nm to longer depe…

  11. Whilst practising some touch and goes at a very windy EGGD earlier I unfortunately got it all wrong and took the top off a tree at tall pines golf course. To my surprise there was no black screen saying you crashed, merely a loud bang and I was fortunately able to carry on my way. Also of note was the fantastic wave effects over the Severn, and later the Solent whilst checking out Southampton's photogrammetry - and lastly the lighting, absolutely fantastic using newly enabled HDR10 in very contrasting conditions - nice one Asobo 👌

I did see a storm chaser thread but couldn't find it using the search function.🤔 Anyhoo... I was watching Chris Packham's interesting 'Nature's Weirdest Events' on the BBC, and heard about Catatumbo Lightning. This place in Venezuela experiences lightning storms most nights of the year, so much so that the local fishermen use it to guide themselves home in the evenings. So, if the current raft of storms in the world aren't enough for you, this might be a place to visit from time to time. Just take off from La Chinita International Airport (SVMC) near the mouth of Lake Maracaibo, or leave Juan Pablo Pérez Alfonzo Airport (SVVG) and head north over the lake. …

Well, finally after a lot of trial and error with the Garmin 1000, I successfully "shot my first ILS in MSFS"! I was used to doing it in P3d, but I couldn't get this Garmin to work exactly as I wanted. I did a simple flight with 3 waypoints from KABE (Allentown) to KERI (Erie) in a Diamond DA62. I found that my success came from the following: Watching as many tutorials as you can to get all the details together Reading the forums both here and on MSFS' forum Doing a simple flight plan to begin with Creating a more detailed flight plan with waypoints Being patient and keep trying. It comes together. The Garmin works. Getting a little…

Hello Guys, So i am having a really nice and informative time with the bush trip activities that are included, especially when reading the navlogs where they introduce us to all new landmarks and cities while enjoying the amazing scenery. Then i thought, hmm , we are a flight sim community with members from all across the globe and wondered, what if we can share some routes together and make our own navlogs and introduce our regions and show each other our countries' most interesting regions, sights and landmarks. Maybe then Microsoft can make an integrated platform to post community routes for all of us to enjoy. I would love to discover different countri…

Only a minor observation compared to other things but I'm really missing vapor trails for AI aircraft. Blue skies without them feels just not right 😉 I don't think it could be hard to implement them...

Hi, I've got a question regarding the Airbus A320. When planning a flight in the main menu and selecting a VFR flight plan with more than 10,000ft in height, the navlog indicates that the selected aircraft (a320 neo) has a cruise speed of somewhere around 450kts. Now that I’m flying, the aircraft indicates that speeds above 360kts are overspeed. Am I doing something wrong? I’d love to hear your opinion.

Not sure why this has started happening. But while flying I keep getting a notification my airspeed is above 185 knots, and to reduce speed during climb, I can pitch the nose up. This seems to happen at various times, but right now, for example, I'm level up at 30,000 feet. I'm not worried about climbing at this point...

  21. It took us several years before, for a reasonable price, we could run on our fsx PC's. Microsoft once again shows us that it is still way ahead, despite some bugs that we hope will be fixed. To everything that this new opus brings of high technology (textures, objects, precision in details, possibility of 4k rendering, air traffic in real time ... and all the rest ). Some will complain: absence of heli , military, auto pilots who fail in their task... It will be necessary to tame the beast as we did for fsx.Do not be afraid the orbx, pmdg, milviz carenado, open sky 747 will come to eat away the part of the cake that microsoft will be happy to let them ... There are alread…

Any ideas? With X-Plane it's possible to move freely in the cockpit using the mouse and the scroll wheel. If you find a satisfying POV you can push STRG+NUM5 (e.g.) to assign the NUM5 key to that POV. I was looking for a similar option in the sim but wasn't lucky until now.

Hi guys, This has been driving me crazy and I cannot seem to find an answer. Tried searching the forum... I would like to use a yoke for yoke controlled planes but use a stick for stick controlled planes (Cub, etc.). I can get a stick to use the ailerons and the yoke to use the elevator or vice a versa. but not both axis alone. Help! Thanks guys..
